I was reading the reviews for the latest app firmware update and everyone is saying it's trash. Is it working good for you? I need a good wifi cam fast since mine stopped working and I can get this Kasa by tomorrow but folks are saying the new app sucks.
You can use without the card correct? I just need it to watch pets at home when I'm away. The 3 cameras I've gotten from Amazon in the past either stopped working or have connectivity issues. Plus they are a pain to set up. The one I have now only works when I'm near my own wifi; not when I'm away so I'm throwing it away. It worked good for years but now I can't connect unless I'm home. Puts out a special beeping sound to setup which rarely detects sound. ( you hold your phone next to camera during setup and it listens for that musical beeping nonsense and rarely detects it) I have to delete it and start a new setup. This camera you have doesn't have all that nonsense right? And can use without SD card correct? I don't need to record. Has night mode too I hope. Thanks!
@@techbyleon I just purchased this camera an the Samsung sd card without even watching this video until now it's a high quality memory card how is the recording and play back???
Question: I have my kasa app and I have different zones set. My camera does not record when there's activity in the different zones. It only records where my camera is positioned (ex: pointing at my drive way) i deleted the zones and reset the camera and set up the zones with still the same issue. Any advice ?
Thanks! I just hooked mine up and it records live video but it will not let me review anything. I’m using it for my dog so when I leave the house I want to enable it to see what’s going on but I also want to review the last hours of activity how do I do that
Be sure to have a Micro SD card in the device. Then Download the "Kasa Smart app" from the app store. After it walk you through the setup, You should see a tab at the bottom of the app for "Cameras". Select Manage on the camera that you want. You should be able to see a live feed of your camera. At the bottom there is a 24/7 Recording tab to play back your recordings. Hope that helps.
@@techbyleon thanks, the problem is the SD card that gets inserted cannot be reviewed unless I’m in the house to remove it. Activity was detected at 4 am and unable to view remotely - is there a paid service through the business where I can always have access to previously recorded video at the push of a request button
@@jeanne819 hmmm…I’m not at the house and I can review my footage from the day before. Go into setting and make sure “24/7 Record to SD card” is on. Then turn your WiFi off in your phone and use your cellular service to test it.

I was hoping for a better review, does the video lag, does it notify you on the phone when it detects motion, can you set sensitivity in motions etc.
Do you know how to install a second camera if you already have one but want to add a second later.
Shouldn't be a problem adding more cameras It will appear as a list on your phone app.

Yes, night vision can be set on auto so when it turns dark it automatically turns on. You don’t need an SD card to see the live feed on the camera

Hey Luis, I always use the Samsung Evo on these cameras and never had problems with them. They are also very cheap on Amazon.
