The echo is actually Latency. Which is the time it takes travel from one device to another, which is a slight delay.
Sold!! Thank you for the time you've taken to do such a thorough and professional overview of this security camera. I'm here because someone recently entered my apartment and stole $2000 in cash i had locked away inside a footlocker. (I'm suspecting it was the building custodian.) So feeling somewhat vulnerable and distressed as I'm a single, senior i'm considering purchasing a modest security system. Of course amazon is where i went to search for one. All i really need to know is when someone's entered my unit. So i'll probably position it to focus on my apartment's only entrance.The thing is, no one is supposed to enter our apartments (there are 51 other senior age residents in my building) without leaving a notice that they've done so. And, there's only one custodian and a site manager.
Excellent review...no issues in 21' using 1080 P at all times...at least for me...
When watching the live view, does it time out on whatever device your watching it on or can you keep the stream up indefinitely?

Hey thank you it works wow thank you soooo much I found out after working all day on it is that the WiFi don’t take the 5g it takes the 2.4 no wonder I was having a very hard time so that’s a good advice it works I’m sooo happy now 😬🥰👋
Software is much better than the Amcrest Pro 360 cams. Adding devices is super easy, unlike Amcrest. However, the Kasa makes a lot of noise. And most importantly, the Kasa has very limited mount functionality. You can only mount it the normal mode or 180 deg rotation (upside down). In 180 mode, it has to be flush against the ceiling. The Amcrest comes with a separate mount that allows you to mount it against a vertical wall and adjust it to multiple angles. I guess there's no perfect option.

the two way audio does not work on my camera, i can hear from my phone the sound camera streamed, but i can no talk though my phone to the camera , so it is only one way now, it did work both way at beginning when i set it up, anyone can help? thanks

Hello, is there an area inside the app to block out motions? My motion detection keeps triggering and going right for my ceiling fans. I’d love to block this area out
You can use activity zones in the camera settings to tell the camera where to look for motion. Simply exclude the fan and it should no longer trigger motion alerts.
@@GaugingGadgets that may have been what I was doing wrong! I was placing a box directly around the fan thinking that would be the block area 🤣 appreciate your assistance!!

Would have helped if you would have showed how to safely remove the SD card to download the recordings and pictures. Great video just wish you would have explained the sd card removal
It's spring loaded. When u push the micro sd card in, u will feel resistance of a spring pushing back up until it locks or seats in place. To remove it, u push it slightly deeper than its seated position and the spring pushes it out toward u, and it comes out.
Hello! is there anyway to reduce or eliminate the eco from the microphone? even when I'm in a different room and try to communicate with the other person it's hard to understand because of the eco, I even tried to put the volume down and still does it :(

theres multiple reviews that it doesnt connect to wifi what could be the reason?i tried using hotspot from my phone use another phone to set it up. it connected and works but when used on my actual wifi it doesnt want to connect.

I had an issue where i couldn’t adjust resolution on iPad, but it’s easy on mobile phone. (The settings cog doesn’t appear where it should on iPad)
Question: since in this example you did not activate the trial, I just wanted to confirm the motion detection clips were saving to your phone; is that correct? And also when you manually recorded, this too was also recording to the phone and not to any internal storage on the TP-Link cam correct?
Update: I read below on the thread that this model on the video does not have the SD card slot so it might have recorded directly to the phone. The newer on EC70 has the SD slot.On my EC70 which is the Pan tilt model that I have I can only record to my cámara if you have an SD installed on the cámara. It will not record on the phone. Then with the app you can view the contents on your phone. I have not tried to remove the SD and view this on my computer but I think you can also do this.
@@midiaz1319 I have purchased this camera since posting this, and can confirm you are correct. The display options shown in the video only appear when a SD card is inserted. The app also lets you take pictures and video snippets to your phone (as events are happening), but you can only review past footage that was previously recorded on the SD card.
@John S so my question is you can do all this for free? I dont need the cloud I can just add an SD card and the app is free?
@@dusthart8303 Yes that is correct. However I'd recommend any of Amcrest's IP cameras instead. With these, even if a thief steals the camera it can send pictures to an email address for later viewing. All free of charge, unless you opt for cloud storage and professional 24/7 monitoring.

@@erikrojas3959 its on the bottom of the black part of the camera. Tilt the camera to face all the way up and you will see it. You might have to force it to tilt up. And insert sd card shiny side down. Then on settings turn 24/7 recording on and format sd card.

You didn’t mention that you need a 256k micro sd card to be able to record or where to insert the card. Unless a creamed is installed it only shows live feeds and doesn’t record anything.

is the 'instant record' button on 'live view' only work on a /Apple system. I cant find one on a android system

I moved my camera after setting it up. The activity zones are no longer relevant. Any idea how to delete the ones currently set?
Touch an activity zone you have set up John and a little x should show up next to it. Press the x and it will ask you if you want to delete it.
Can you view the live feed if your phone is not connected to wifi? Looking for a camera where I can check in on my dog while I'm away from home.

How do you delete motion sensor videos from the app?
I have the same camera and app. I have an 128 gig SD card in it. It will notify me when a person is detected and will save a recording too the app but not in the activity zone. So I click where it says 24/7 recording below the live feed. Then a bunch of minute or two recordings appear that I can view. But cant delete them. I hard press, I swipe, I double tap and nothing I can't remove them and is taking up the SD cards storage. No three dots or anything Please Help.

how many device can this camera gives too
This camera wouldn't work on my wifi, absolute garbage. I did everything including enabling my SSID, removing mac filters, I connected it to 2.4 ghz, even turned off device priority. I shouldn't have to do any of these things, but regardless it still didn't work. It's absolute garbage.
will it record motion control through a window and screen from inside to outside?
Yes, it should be able to do that. It detects motion through analyzing what is captured by the camera. As long as it can see through the screen, it should be able to detect motion. Yu might have issues with night vision though because of reflection.
It may be a dumb question, but can you use it to stream live such as facebook?
No, not very easily. You might be able to do it if you livestream your phone screen to facebook then open the kasa smart app to the camera.

@@eliort25 You cannot download them off of the SD card from your phone. You must take out the card and move them to your computer. I just recently found this out myself.

Help, you say in your video (which is great by the way) that this security camera cannot be used with 5G. However I called my Internet provider and they tell me that my router alternates between 2.4 and five depending on the location of the camera, so I am totally confused. Can I use this camera or not?
Yes, you should be fine. I am the same setup and it works perfectly. The camera will join the 2.4ghz network.
the camera only connects on 2.4ghz? how about 5ghz? im not sure how to configure my xfinity modem but im sure both 2.4 and 5ghz are on. the camera couldnt connect to my wifi.

@@artheaux666 it didnt, i asked for replacement ended up the same returned it. its just weird their smartplugs and smartbulbs works with my wifi but their camera doesnt.
@@artheaux666 i got stucked on that part where it says connect to wifi entered everything right but it says its incorrect on the smartplugs but seems like the plugs and bulbs has faster chip or isnt finicky.but i maanged to connect plugs to my wifi. i assume you still have the camera. try this if it says it blinks orange green or blue right? if its succesful to detect your phone and your phone connected to kasa camera. go to your wifi on your phone switch it to your 2.4wifi. then go back to the app which is probably still loading to connect.then comeback to phonewifi and then set it again to kasacamera wifi. this time it should ask to connect to the same wifi. now go back to your phone wifi connect to 2.4ghz then go back to the app and enter the password on your 2.4ghz wifi. do it over and over try if it works. let me know cause if it work i might buy and try it again😂😂😂😂

Thank you for the video but I watched the whole video hoping you had found the sd card slot and discus 24/7 recording. Nothing there. The Kasa cam was soooo much easier and straight forward than the Amcrest, I threw my amcrests out.
Unfortunately this model does not have an SD card slot.
There is a new model that has an SD card slot...the TP-Link Kasa KC115.
Did you find the slot Platt Barber?
On Kasa EC70, pan camera all the way "up", like towards ceiling. Card slot and reset button are exposed.

Great camera but it has a fatal flaw. Only You can see the device. You can not share it with anyone. So you can't let your wife have access to the device.

Can you zoom in and out on this camera?
The camera doesn't have any optical zoom but it will let you pinch the video to zoom into it. Similar to zooming into a picture on your phone.
