Haha, this is so typical of JS Bach (organist) music : never cares about the fact that wind and singers must breath from time to time ;-))) He did something equivalent with the partitas for lute : he composed them on a keyboard instrument (lautenwerk), i.e. with his 10 fingers, forgetting the we, lutenists, use only 4 fingers to produce sounds... result is beautiful, but nearly unplayable ! But we love him so much.

Absolutely stunning performance! The circular breathing of the oboist is impressive! He played continuously the oboe for 2 minutes and 3 seconds. From 1:08 to 3:11.
I wondered about that. (Whether he was using circular breathing or not.) As a trombone player, I use circular breathing mostly to extend a phrase or a long note. I find it impossible to use circular breathing on a moving line, with a good result, so I found this performance to be particularly impressive.

Einer meiner liebsten Klassischen Lieder👍
Einfach wunderbar präsentiert 👏 Danke 🙏
Beautiful music and singing! Jesus is my Lord and Shepherd; Hé is the Way, the Truth and (eternal) Life. HalleluYah !!!🙏🙏🙏
May God bless these amazing singers and, of course, the immense Johannes Sebastian Bach
And I singing together from Mairiporã, Brazil... God bless..!
Einfach nur großartig. Großartige Musik und perfekte Interpretation!
Sometimes I wake up to the fact that German is my native language and I´m therefore privileged as a
Bach lover who does understand every single word - - -
See my comment above. I am native United States with a working knowledge of German. The German lyrics are such a beautiful prayer. Ich weiss dieses Lied nur auf Deutsch.
There are some pieces that just do not work as well if translated. Stille Nacht is another. Still trying to learn German.
@@jonathanwetherell3609 Bach always started from the lyrics and then composed the music like a perfectly tailored suit around the meaning/phrasing of the words, which is why translations don't work.
I feel exactly the opossite, as non german speaker, I feel this music is far beyond any word.
Exact same feeling I have about Shakespeare, as I am a native English speaker
Wat prachtig! Ook de beelden. Bedankt
Also, perfect german pronounciation for a british choir! I absolutely love it. Thank you very, very much, especially in these times!
Not only for a British choir!
Die Aussprache ist einfach unglaublich schön! Ehrlich gesagt, hört man so etwas kaum noch in Deutschland, wenn überhaupt.

Familiar music but sung and played beautifully; absolutely gorgeous.
This was the last thing that I ever sang in a school choir, as I left that school to move many miles away to a new school in a different country. I still love it.
This is wonderful. I love this piece by Bach.
Yes! We have a friend in Jesus✝️🇮🇪☘️🙏
If you're feeling down, having a hard time, and about to give up just listen to these songs and read every lyric and reflect and feel Jesus in your heart....
I could not agree more, "just listen to these songs", this music, classical music in general has brought me to a place I never would have imagined, it has opened my eyes to a glory, a feeling deep inside, I have realized it has always been there, you just need to accept it.
Wunderbar!!!!!!!!!!🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🕊💐💐💐💐💐💗 Dankeschön, Vielen Dank!!!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎼💗
As an oboe player that has performed this work in my past I can appreciate the memories it brings back to me...and it's so well done here. Amen!
This has to be one of the most perfect pieces of music that have ever been written. Underlined by an outstanding performance of both singers and oboist. This is what music is all about. Cheers to the beauty of songs like these performed by singers like these.
