Thanks for the vid. have had Tobii eye for quite awhile but haven't used yet just due to setting up is a pain. This helped alot.
I just bought one. Being able to shoot missiles without having the ship facing the target is huge. One other thing, seeing views from your cockpit you don’t normally get introduces next level immersion.

This was fantastic. I just moved and am finally getting around to getting stuff setup. Its been a hectic couple of years. Then I started going over this stuff it's been hard to find good info on some of the settings etc. This was a great help. Though I've recently found out that the new monitor I bought with my recent build is too large and tobii doesn't like it -_-. Hopefully the head tracking will handle itself better than the eye tracking that gets upset outside a certain area in the center of the display.
It may not help but try setting the Tobii software to track 1 eye only and see if anything changes for you. Thanks for your comment!
The tobii 5 eye tracker works no worries on a large curved 49 inch monitor. The manual says it won't work with displays so large running a 32:9 wide aspect ratio, but it works fine without any problems. Cheers
@@Krashulka I have a G9 with Tobii 5 and it does not work without any problems, a lot of misaligned movements and its not nearly as precise as I would hope it to be

Thanks bro ! The Tobii Eye Tracking is way more operational patch after patch. I'm not able to measure the impact on the system resources. But at the moment, I still prefer the Track-ir precision for the dogfight and the Tobii for the general game play experience.
Apparently Tobii does processing on its own hardware, so there is no impact on your system resources (other than power).
Oh if I was fortunate enough to have a Tobii…

A big help Ive been looking at getting one but unsure how they work and what I would want it to work like . I just want it to give me better looking around to give me better depth when flying
Ya that's what I use mine for too. It's really nice to just be able to turn it on and off when needed, without having to have something always on your head!

This looks pretty awesome but I already have a TrackIR. I can already lock targets and missiles by moving my head. Which is more capable in terms of precision and accuracy? Also my lighting environment changes a lot, so that may be a be point for the TrackIR.
ok thats looks awesome. im have too Tobii 5 Eye Tracker & make all the same as you in the video ... but nothing is happend :( other games work with eye tracking but this? dont know
mines kinda jittery i see yours is so smooth and stays in place depending where you look. for me if i look out the right of my cockpit its almost like it tried fighting back and slowly starts going back to the left over time.also if i keep my head totally still while looking center theres jittering
I am having problems missle locking targets “fully” with Tobi. I can look at a target and lock my missles; however, the circle turns green but will not complete its second ring of green. The only way it works if I look away from the target with my eyes about an inch. Kinda odd. I don’t remember this problem in 3.17.1
what do i need to change when it comes to salvage? my crosshairs move when my head and eyes do. i dont want that to happen. so it takes me off target
Currently I have gaze set to a very low value because when I go 100% head tracking, my eyes mess with the head tracking.
It's really annoying.
On the plus side, a small % of eye tracking seems to make the whole experience even more natural and immersive than 100% head tracking.
How is the delay with the Tobii?
Also, is it possible to somehow remove the tracking circle? I think I'd be really annoyed/distracted when using that and the circle is always visible.
It's slightly slower than track IR but not by much in my setup. The bubble is just for the video.

the center stabalization doesnt kick in until the value is changed slightly, and resets every time i respawn, is that a bug?
Dude (my fellow gamer), I think these guys (Tobii) really need to pay this guy (RedLir Live) to make ads for them. Seriously, his intros make me want to buy these products. Um, at the "fire missile behind you" point in the intro, I was totally STFU and take my moneeeeeey!
if i wanted to make it where if I move my head 10% it moves my character views completely sideway which setting is that?
Just got one recently and it's shakes and turns my characters head all over the place, ive ran both tobii apps in admin mode and recalibrated it many times and still nothing changes just can't get it to work correctly even after having the setting from the video followed.
I have a Samsung G7 curved. And my button for the screen settings is right in the middle under the screen where you attached that Tobi clip. So my question is... can i still use it?
My LG ultra wide has the button in the same spot. The bracket has space, and then the tobii attaches to that with magnets. YMMV.
@@RedLir_Live Hey there....i thought that the first clip was attached with glu underneath the monitor...and then the Tobi with magnetts to that again. So can i still get my finger at that menu button? Because i see there is a sliding peace in the middle of that clip to get the angle right.
@@robbie1420 There are two velcro adhesives that attach and then the clip attaches to that, with the tobii attaching magnetically to the front of the clip.
On my LG the whole thing is forward enough that the button is actually behind it so it's still easy to reach. I can't tell you for sure about the G7, but from the pics I found of the underside, it looks like the button is further back as well. YMMV!
@@RedLir_Live A big thank you for all the information you gave me RedLir... its very helpfull. And as long as i can just reach that button with my finger i'll be fine i guess. So i think i'll buy the Tobi... because i really like the way it works.
I was able to get turrets to work with my gaze, by setting Input mix (0: Gaze, 1: Head) to 0. I found it more effective than using my head, but still lacking precision. If this is tuned to perfection, us poor fixed weapon pilot's won't stand a chance.

I wasn't able to get an actual turret to work today when I re-tested, but I can also get the manual pilot gimbal to work with eye gaze. I must have had it set to 1.0 ( full head) at the time and didn't notice. Cheers!

im curious were u ever able to get the manual gimbal to work with eye gaze with precision?? im playing around with settings because my dual joysticks isnt nearly as precise as with my mouse i own the eye tracker and am play testing settings but dont think its quite right yet
@@johnmedeiros3445 With gimbals on, you can switch the manual gimbal mode to look direction with the hotkey under vehicles - weapons, then the gimbal will shoot where ever your character is looking, so if you have the tobii input mix (gaze, head) set to 0, your character will look where your eyes are looking, and the gimbals will shoot there as well. So yes you can shoot gimbals where your eyes are looking, however the turret aim is linked to the angle of your character's head based on the tobii, and not directly where your eyes are looking, so it lacks precision.
how do i set it for eye only?

How much of a performance hit does SC take with this?
7 month later - do you still use it all the time in SC? Are there some drawbacks? I'm considering buying one, just not sure how useful it will be long term...
I use both Track IR and Tobii at the same time or Tobii alone. Track IR is 'slightly' faster for head tracking so in heated AC matches I'll use that. I use Tobii for eye tracking/target selection/missile locking and then enable it for head tracking as well in the PU when just cruising around and don't want to wear anything on my head.
