      haha, Thank you brother! For me, I don't even bother most of the year, I stick the the canned tomatoes I like for sauces and stuff. But I get it out of my system this time of year! Thanks for watching Brian, hope you're well!

    Beautiful presentation with the Caprese salad and I swear I could dive head first into that right now! I've loved tomatoes all of my life. When homegrown tomatoes are in season, down south here, we take the freshest white bread you can find, spread on a layer of mayo on both slices of the bread, and then top the bread with nothing but those delicious homegrown local tomatoes. A true southern delicacy. I can only imagine how good that would be with all those different variety of tomatoes you used. Epic video Steve, thanks!

      Brother! That reminds me of a video I just watch by You Suck At Cooking (ruclips.net/video/jxE_wEbkcXM/видео.html) that basically showcases him making that exact sandwich, in the must hysterical way. But because of the video, I imagine exactly what you describe! Thank so much buddy! Thanks for sharing!

    I love Caprese. But I like it without the balsamic - just perfect mozz and tomatoes, salt, pepper and olive oil. Basil if you must. But that is one lovely salad you made.

    We have Caprese salad in my fridge as I type this. It’s pretty sad. Your Caprese salad mocks it, and mine is just like “yeah...I know.”
    THAT’s How good this looks. Great job

    Awesome!! We are going into town on Saturday & I’m going to get those heirloom tomatoes to make this! I have a dumb question though: what was the “greens” you used? Fresh basil leaves? How much salt did you use? And is it ok to use another seasoning without salt?

    • @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW
      @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW  6 лет назад +1

      Yes fresh basil! And not sure he can have sugar! So opt for regular balsamic vinegar! And you can add oregano, parsley, black pepper, and maybe the smallest amount of salt on the tomatoes. But you could leave it out. If he likes spicy, some red chili’s sliced thin would add a lot of fruity flavor!

    • @19Ter67
      @19Ter67 6 лет назад

      NOT ANOTHER COOKING SHOW EXCELLENT alternative choices! He’s ok with sugar. Dr wants him to avoid salt for now. He likes spicy 🌶 stuff too so I can add a twist to it just for him. Thank you so much!! 🙏🏻

    • @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW
      @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW  6 лет назад +1

      If he's ok with sugar than a good balsamic reduction would add PLENTY of flavor, so with some good tomatoes in hand, this one should be a winner for him.

      NOT ANOTHER COOKING SHOW Awesome!! Can’t wait to make this! Will take a pic to share what I made! This will be my 1st recipe to make from you. 👍

    Haha oh man, I'm that guy who doesn't like tomatoes. Funny you added that, but then again I've also never got some from a farmers market.
    Alright my dude, I'll pick some up this weekend and I'll let you know what I think. Heirloom and Cherry, any other kinds I should grab? B.C Canada if geography matters. Always love your vids dude.

    • @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW
      @NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW  6 лет назад +2

      Haha! Man I’m so glad I left that part in! Yes man, please do. Those are good! Try to get both red and yellow cherry tomatoes. The yellow ones are my favorite, and at the farmers market you can taste them before buying. Taste one when you get there so you know I’m not blowin smoke up your ass 🤣 you’re gonna love it. Or you won’t, but I think you will. Report back!
