Great job. I HATE plumbing jobs. I had a leaking shower. I was about to tackle it, based on your video, but I had to call a plumber for larger, more complicated job. While he was here, I just had him replace the cardridge in the shower. I started to take a shower that night and, sure enough, no hot water! But, thanks to you. I knew how to fix it. Easy as pie -- no worse than changing a light bulb.

So glad you took the time to post this. I've had those washers replaced twice and the issue kept coming back. Now that I know that it was a seat issue, I was able to watch your video, go get the parts and do it myself the right way. Thanks so much for the lesson. Yep, never too late to learn something new. :)

Great video but I have a question. I have a shower very similar the the one in the video and I think the fixtures are origins to the 60’s when the house was built. How do I know what brand stems I need to get to replace my leaking ones?

Great idea, great video! I like how it was informative but you came up with a creative way to make it entertaining as well. And thanks for the part about the nicks on the seat causing leaks and how to check them

So are you opening the stem when taking out of the wall and when reinstalling the new one you are putting the stem in the closed position to reinstall?

Thanks for the informative video. It would have been helpful to recommend a handle puller tool as mine was hopelessly stuck without it and I had to made a second run to the hardware store. Thankfully, that was the hardest part.

What if my pfister hot amd cold shower valve doesnt have a seat? Do you recommend changing it to a Danco valve?

I replaced the stems in a similar 2 handle shower valve setup, but the water is still flowing full blast, and no hot water is produced. What could explain this?

Hey good stuff but eyes closed we’re not necessary. Do I turn off the water in the entire house before I do this? Thanks

There was a Bugs Bunny episode that apparently took place entirely under water but for no apparent reason, maybe the animators were amusing themselves. Why did you want to do this with your eyes closed? It's again, seemingly for no apparent reason. lol But it was clear and informative nonetheless. Thanks for the video. It doesn't help me - my stems are white plastic (old very old) and they don't behave like any of these easier-to-replace valve/stems. grrrr

You didn't show covering the drain to catch small parts

Why the eyes closed? I find such a distracting gimmick.

I can only guess to show how easy it is? But honestly it was more annoying than anything.

Didn't care for the video. Didn't really show how to fix it. Just a guy showing off how he could do it with his eyes closed. Not a help for me.
