    Ed Skrein as Admiral Atticus Noble, Djimon Hounsou as General Titus,
    Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Ray Fisher as Darrian Bloodaxe, Cleopatra Coleman as Devra Bloodaxe, E. Duffy as Milius, Jena Malone as Harmada, Corey Stoll as Sindri, Staz Nair as Tarak, Fra Fee as Regent Balisarius, Bae Doona as Nemesis, as we get an epic conclusion...sort of...because it totally sets up a Part 3 as we endure the slo-mo, action scenes, and character development?!

But for the casual viewer, which represents the majority of who will see this via Netflix, it’s a solid action flick. I believe the Director's Cuts were announced very early on. Before the first film even came out. My reaction was immediately one of confusion. Zack has a consistent history of having his films cut down and received poorly, only for his Director's Cuts to come out and notnonly be superior films, but also feel competently made. And considering Zack had worked with Netflix several times before this, it was very confusing to me why they made that decision. Slow-mo grain….the characters around the table “character development” came across as a forced sequence that was not organic at all. Sure the action in the last half was cool but every attempt to get to know these characters went by to fast and the “focus” scenes in the first half genuinely had them doing nothing other than setting up the field for the fight and that was it.

Part one would have been fine as an hour-long speed intro into this, the local battle; especially if more parts are to come which can flesh out more backstory as we go. Hello… Star Wars. That hurt the first movie and the overall perception. Dialogue alone hurt this one-not the concepts and tropes. That’s what tropes are there for. Haha.
    It’s a good action flick with a little too much slow mo button. I would have gladly watched this in a theater and had a good time with the basics of magma-lasers, legit spaceships, and heat-blade space samurai battles. Yeah, that would have been fun enough as one 2.5 hour epic. 😊

    0:34 you don't need a re-cap, they spend the entire opening doing a re-cap, lol. I have so much to say about this movie, but after reading the comments, I don't need to because most of my points have already been covered. The only good thing I can say about Rebel Moon is that visually it's beautiful and Ed Skrein was great!

    And for this one I enjoyed it quite a lot...as far as I know Zack Sir said that in his original version not only action sequences are bit mature but also the conversations b/w characters are lot mature(almost like different scenes)...so what I'm trying to say that I still got HOPE!!
    I don't hate the Man and still got my faith...
    And ‘Reject Nation’ you gave a great reaction by the way...and in future I would like become your patreon member at some point...just wait for a few month after entering my University...
    Keep growing 😊

    I Don't Hate the 'Rebel Moon' Movies, but at the same time, I Completely Understand the Hate They get.
    At Best; They're visually Stunning, have Some Entertainment Value, have good Fight scenes, Great Music, and a few Characters that can be liked enough for (if Not anything else,) at least being Cool.
    At Worst; They're Inconsistent, Messy, take forever to Actually try to give Their Character's Depth, Barely even make any effort to give Themselves Proper Worldbuilding, and Fumble the Bag with Their Pacing.
    and this is coming from Someone Who has Loved most of Zack's work in the Past

    by 18:00 I already quit the movie, 3 slow-mo grain scenes?! seriously Snyder, 300 has the perfect amount of slow mo to tell the story, now it's just filler, I'm finally done with this director, the guy needs an editor with the balls to tell him "dude, this is scene looks cool but is not saying anything" and a writer other than himself.

    • @ultimatecultchaos
      @ultimatecultchaos 14 дней назад +2

      I didn't quit the move... mainly to see the cool action pew pew stuff and nice shots and environments (and to get inspired) but I mean the writing and stuff like you said needs a lot of work but I mean I was just like "this is just farming why are they trying to make farming cool" and I skipped it. Good move. Better than a lot I've seen even with the writing (I've seen some bad movies) also much worse than some ive seen but I'm mostly in it for the visuals

    I couldn't finish this. I've never been a big Zack Snyder fan but I think Netflix is further ruining him. Like he's so much worse at filmmaking than he already was.
    Edit: replies are losing my point I said he was already a bad filmmaker, it's just the Netflix freedom has made him worse.

    • @omerfarukaydn5192
      @omerfarukaydn5192 16 дней назад +31

      Netflix didn't ruined him, Snyder was perfectly fine with the PG13 cut that he was making. Netflix just simply exposed how bad of a filmmaker Snyder is. Besides, who authorized a bunch of slow motions for these Rebel Moon movies if not Snyder himself?

    Now another 4 more stories will be told somewhere down the line lol. In a way you can easily say Belasarius portrayed by Fra Fee from Hawkeye series is the Palpatine of the Rebel Moon universe. He is the Sith Lord of the Rebel Moon Universe lol. They just keep hinting him constantly with flashbacks and in the present timeline but we need a full fledged storyline from his point of view about how he wants to control the universe in his image.

  • @ultimatecultchaos
    @ultimatecultchaos 14 дней назад +1

    I'm only keeping up with this series to see the great worlds it makes and the cool visuals and environments and fights and weapons and vehicles and all that stuff for inspiration along with the camera shots. Other than basically all I've stated this movie isn't really that good I mean it's better writing wise than a lot of movies I've seen because I've seen a lot of bad movies but this also has far worse stuff than other movies. Point is I like it because it's cool looking and I like the designs of things mainly because of me making video game (not sure if il, ever release it to the public at all because I'm still figuring stuff out) and I love designs and ideas and cool stuff like this for my game. Now if you take my appreciation for sound design and just movement design and looks in general for things then it's bad. But I don't think it deserves all the hate. Because it's not entirely bad. just everything other than the stuff I mostly said here is bad but I'm still excited for what's possibly to come next

  • @cinematicgoodness7325
    @cinematicgoodness7325 15 дней назад +3

    Theres alot to unpack about what's wrong with these movies. The heavyhanded and clunky exposition, the weak character writing/development, the ceaseless slow motion sequences, the stilted and on the nose dialogue, etc.
    But the thing I hate the most is just how incredibly, almost insultingly derivative it is of Star Wars. Like, several times when I watched this movie, I kept thinking if this would be better if it was just an actual straightforward Star Wars film. Maybe so much of the painful exposition would've been cut down since we would already know what the Empire is and how bad they are instead of hamfisting both facts to us over and over again through poorly constructed dialogue.
    God, I really REALLY don't like these films. Normally, I like Zack's work, but this just wasn't it. I do not have the urge to see more of this world or these characters. Its all so BORING

Though towards the beginning of the fight seeing what the set up I thought they really should have put up defensive structures at least around the town sooner on there own so bad on them for not thinking what if lol. Djimon Hounsou is one of those few actors who can rise above the movies they're in. I don't think I've ever seen him be bad in anything, even when the movie itself has been complete garbage (like this one). I can't say that about many actors/actresses; it's a dishearteningly small group.

    Now, people understand how George Lucas and Ridley Scott are out of this world. It's very hard to do fine Sience Fiction movies, because the audience is very demanding and intelligent. good movies take a lot of time to be done. If the story is based on a book like "Dune", the path becomes easier.
