37:57 there is such a thing of gap years. I think Gabriella should have done that. Everyone keeps pushing her to go to Stanford so soon when she clearly isn't ready yet. She's been moving so many times in her life, she wants more stability. I can understand the feeling of not wanting to go back and forth like that since I'm autistic. It doesn't just take a few days to get settled in. Going back and forth will never make you settled in

I am from germany and I'm asking is high school really like in all these hollywood movies or netflix shows? It is really that extreme with the stereotypes or is high school in reality more boring? Because in germany school in nothing like that, it is really unspecial. No theatre, no sport teams or anything.
In movies it is very exaggerated but the emotions, teams, theater are all a thing. They capture a lot of the feelings of high school.

High school is somewhat fun, but it’s not THAT fun. Especially when you hit 12th grade and get this thing called “Senioritis” towards the end of the year where you are just sick and tired of everything and just wanna graduate already. You know what I mean?
@@tapicdasurgestein This a musical so it is made to be over the top. But it is very much like this in North American High Schools. They're different groups for sure, Jocks, Geeks, Stoners, Popular Girls and you rarely crossed over. I was a theatre geek and did a lot of musicals in High School. I'm old that was back in the 80s. My daughter was in School when the HSM movies came out. She like every young girl back then loved them. We saw HSM3 in the theatre. I live in Canada and our school way is very much a like. My High School in the 80s had a Huge Football & Hockey & Soccer team. The school had separate areas, the Art classes had its own wing. The shop classes had everything you could think of. Our Automotive class had 4 bays to work on cars. If you want to see exactly what a North American High School was like for me in the 80s watch "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". If you want to see what High School life in the 50s early 60s looked like watch "American Graffiti".

This movie was definitely one of the most hyped movies of 2008. Disney apparently thought this one was so big, they didn’t even bother putting it on Disney Channel. Instead, they put it in actual movie theaters. Which to be honest you can already tell that they did because of the extremely high budget they’re showing. This is for sure the High School Musical movie that goes out with a big bang.
I kinda wished "High School Musical" was Oscar nominated for Best Original Song so that we could've seen the cast performing it at the show, that could've been awesome
I cried more watching these kids graduate than I did at my own graduation 🤣
Same and what's worse was that my graduation was affected by the pandemic so we had to stayed at home with no singing and dancing all around 😂

The fact that the cast remains close TO THIS DAY and that Zac’s happy to talk about HSM whenever anyone brings it up interviews, saying it’s the most fun he’s ever had filming, just shows how much these movies mean to not only the fans but everyone who was involved in the films

The thing about Sharpay coming back to East High was setup for a future spinoff series that never happened. What we did get is a spinoff movie for Sharpay (aka Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure), where the character growth actually sticks this time, and leaves Sharpay in a much more satisfying position given her talent and drive. It's got a cameo by Ryan in the credits. Also the love interest in that movie is a young Austin Butler!!

I remember when Glee mentioned years later that there's no specific musical theater course at Julliard going "Huh~ I wonder then what Troy would've done had he actually got that scholarship?~"
I was 12 crying in the theatre, and still cry every single time at the ending number. They really knew how to send it off perfectly. They struck gold again with Descendants, by the way.

Kenny Ortega deserves an OSCAR for choreographing/directing my entire freaking childhood! NEWSIES, Hocus Pocus, Ferris Bueller, Dirty Dancing, Micheal Jackson, many a Gilmore Girls episode, HSM trilogy, the Descendants, etc. There is nothing this man can’t do & every project has so much HEART ❤️

People missed the fact that this cut that they're watching is the extended digital release version. The theatrical version didn't include this 32:54 Troy's dinner scene, Gabriella's conversation with Taylor and the 2nd verse version of "Right Here, Right Now" which made much more sense but I guess they made it lighter/more "family friendly"

FINALLY THE TRILOGY IS COMPLETE! This was an awesome throwback to films that have a special place in my heart.
19:30 - You can see these two were genuinely in love when they recorded this film. It makes a HUGE difference, if you watch the first one now their relationship seems awkward again.

Now or Never is BY FAR my favorite song in the trilogy. It gave me chills. I didn't see this movie in theaters, I caught it on DVD long after. When I tell you I cried at the end when they graduated. So sad yet happy for them. HSM will forever go down as a classic musical trilogy
My absolute favorite of the trilogy. Really does make me wish the whole series had been in the theater because you can really see the effort and production in every single moment in this entry.

I forgot how hard “I Want It All” went…. Also so crazy how I grew up the series. I was in 5th grade when the first one came out and in 8th grade when this one did. Felt so bittersweet that their high school lives were ending just before mine began.

I feel like they were trying to make it a little more obvious that Gabriella is Hispanic in this movie for some reason, although the part where her mom talked in Spanish and she answered back in English is pretty accurate. I'm Puerto Rican and my mom talks to me and my sisters in Spanish and we answer back in English because we grew up in Tennessee. By the way, if you guys watch Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure there's an end credit scene. A lot of people don't know this and miss it.

A VISUAL FEAST. A CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE. Whatever Kenny Ortega was on when he directed and choreographed this movie I NEED IT because this man is a GENIUS! He really put his whole Kenussy into this one like you guys have no idea how iconic it was to see this in the theatres when I was 8 years old, my little mind was BLOWN and it STILL is to this day! Kenny Ortega revolutionized movie musicals in 2008 in a way that has yet to be repeated with the same full-body chill-inducing magic. He changed the game and our lives were changed and now, so are yours. Glad to be on this journey with you! 🫡🤧✊✨

In the universe of the movies, it is a real story. The series takes place in the “real world” where they are fictional. Same way in New Nightmare, the previous Freddy movies are fictional, but of course in those other movies, it’s all real.

This was definitely the best movie to finish the trilogy of High School Musical. I unapologetically am always a fan of these movies. Scream was a damn good song and relatable as well. I really love how the first two films had a tv movie quality because they were Disney channel movies ofc but the third film was the first to be released theatrically and it gave a whole new cinematic look to the film which is very dope. Great reaction guys! Glad you guys enjoyed the High School Musical trilogy.

Someone able to tell me how the whole early entry to college works as someone who isn't American? Like does Gabriella just go to random classes that are at the end of the year? Like why not just go to first day of college not do like 2 weeks of last weeks of college?
I remember watching this in the cinema like it was yesterday! The room was so full (they definitely overbooked) there were people sitting all over the steps! That very first scene with Zac Efron's close-up had everybody screaming and by the end of the movie everybody was crying. Truly an experience I will remember and treasure forever.

Kenny Ortega the director/choreographer of High School Musical also made disney Descendants 1,2,3 yall should give that one a watch too. It’s about the famous disney princesses and villians kids life. Also there is a High School Musical Series about the students that attend the school and they do a muscial about High School Musical and different musicals with four seasons pretty good in my opinion.

There is a spin off called Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure from 2011. It takes place 1 year after this film and has Austin Butler in it. Both Ashley Tisdale and Austin Butler co-star in the 2009 movie Aliens in the Attic as well. She was also on Zack & Cody, which not only has an episode where they sing bop to the top from HSM and they joke about how they don’t think she looks like Ashley Tisdale, but there’s also an episode where Zac Efron appears.
“Can I Have This Dance” is a perfect wedding song
This came out in theaters the same weekend as Saw V. So, I did a double feature and started with Saw V first and then ended on a lighthearted note saying bye to my wildcats! My favorite songs in this one are Scream (once they started giving Zac solo songs he killed it!!) and A Night To Remember.

this movie was once of the best movie cinema experience all my life: i remember the crowd screaming, crying, laughign, takin pictures with their cameras… this movie was a cultural resert for everybody in that generation 🫶🏻✨
HSM was my childhood! I wasn’t in high school yet when I watched the movies but I used to carry all these songs with me into high school. I actually recall that my mom surprised me with tickets to go see HSM live on stage with friends. Although it wasn’t broadway, I loved it! For HSM3, it was funny bc I remember I dragged my family to go see it in theatres 😂

So the show, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (HSMTMTS) takes place in "our" world at the school HSM was filmed and its like a mockumentary. Olivia Rodrigo is in the first 2 seasons, and writes multiple songs, along with Joshua Bassett for the show. Its what really helped catapult her when she released Driver's License. It is 4 seasons long and its definitely cheesy and can be cringey. But its worth a watch for the nostalgia and the songs. Literally so many good songs.
The songs throughout these movies are so well done and the choreography just got better and better. Also Zac and Vanessa’s chemistry is undeniable

not me tearing up LMAO. i watched this movie the day of my high school graduation day in 2021, and i cried my eyes out lol. from ages 7-12, high school musical was one of my favorite movie series and third movie was my favorite out of the whole trilogy. watching this movie when you're about to graduate hits different
