David Lynch, to me, has always represented an old-timey Hollywood dude living in the modern era, like a man out of time. A very interesting individual.
no.. I always felt like telling him to get back to work. I want another project from him before he calls it. He was supposed to do a Netflix series but walked away from it.. probably tried to get him to make p.c. changes.
@@MicahMicahel I guess you didn't appreciate having David as a part of your daily routine. but at least you appreciate his content, even if you are a bit of a slave driver ; ) I'm hoping he figures out how to independently produce and release his projects like all the comedians do, without industry interference.
@@pointysidedown I think Lynch is the kind of guy that does his best stuff in isolation. He seems like a nice guy bit I kind of wish we didn't know any of these famous people. HE was one of the few people that still had a feeling of mystique. There used to be people like Kubrick and Salinger. They would avoid the media and they would be mysteries. I t think that adds to their work.
I know what he’s talking about exactly! I miss the Jasmine at night. And I loved the signs from the 1920’s and 30’s, the buildings from another time. Absolutely. Dreaming about how life was way back when, before I was born. My grandparents’ era. He knows the magic of the place.
I just came across your post. I am a tremendous fan of David Lynch and was concerned and saddened by the post. Any updates on his health? I hope that he is alright. He is an incomparable genius.
Gosh David is so cool such a original i wish I could sit down and have a cup of coffee with him just the way he sees the world is so interesting Blue Velvet was number 1 📷🎞️📽️
I don't remember him ever saying he loved Philadelphia. I remember he qualified his hatred of Philadelphia on a Tonight Show appearance with Leno where Lynch said it might be better "now", but continued to say how awful it was when he lived there. I think he once said he woke up with someone in his house that he had to chase away, and often awoke from a horrible nightmare only to find his real life in Philadelphia was even WORSE.
@@greyeyed123 He did. He said he gained inspiration from how messed up Philadelphia was. To me, that's a sign of him loving it for its negative aspects and him making something positive out of a bad situation.
I lived in LA as well, and other parts of California for many years. LA is far from perfect but if you truly think it’s the armpit of the U.S. then I might have to accuse you of not traveling around enough.
It depends if you consider Mel Gibson "credible proof". Funny how Hollywood was hellbent on making sure he wasn't. There is most definitely a lot more people around that would verify this, but I really don't wish to look further into those who have suffered. The chemical element adrenochrome is called 'the white rabbit' because it appears as a rabbit when you rotate the element sideways to the right. Look it up. The white rabbit is referenced in many things including songs and movies and is a direct reference to this drug, which can only be retrieved through the torture of human beings. This drug is exponentially more potent the younger the subject. Follow the yellow brick road is another reference, which refers to the child trafficking networking through places like Ukraine and China. It's no coincidence that 'munchkins' were used in the wizard of oz. Follow the white rabbit. Follow the yellow brick road. Follow the money. We didn't win the world wars. He must be talking about the Hollywood of some other context or era. He mentioned the "Golden Age", and "Star System"; There hasn't been a Star System since the heyday of the big studios like MGM and 20th Century Fox..
My only dream was to be in Hollywood. Even just as a clog in the system. But it’s just another unachievable American dream unless you’re coming from white rich American parents. I’ll always hold this dream dearly close to my heart so even it is dimmed to max, it won’t wither. Because even just that feeling is something else.. ahh California Dreamin’
Ahh... I love the smell of Hollywood Spring nights... the urine... the excrement. Joking aside, sometimes it's just nice to listen to a crazy person say something sweet.
David Lynch is one of the sanest people in Hollywood. His work can be esoteric, but it's bursting with meaning. To suggest that he's crazy is to suggest that he doesn't know what his doing and his work is meaningless. A tremendous disservice.
@@isaacbruner65 You've conflated premises, and then unnecessarily placed them in categories of necessity. All that, as if my comment was serious. Lose the overly earnest motif. Even Lynch, himself, would've laughed at my joke. Grow a funnybone, will ya?

He's a Lynch, got bogger genes, barnet like a bog brush. Probably got an arse like a Persian rug.

A true artists appreciates the subtle beauty in horrible places.
Lynch would never end up in hell but if he would, he would find beauty in it to enjoy.

why did You leave LA?
David Lynch, to me, has always represented an old-timey Hollywood dude living in the modern era, like a man out of time. A very interesting individual.
I totally get it. He got the best of Hollywood, he does live the dream so he retains the feel of it.
Dream, longing, that's David Lynch!
He lives in his own bubble world. I do the same so i get it. But there is more to this.
Now, if only Hollywood could love David as much as he loves it.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again, Lynch and William S. Burroughs are a kindred spirit! I see so much of Burroughs in Lynch.
