I'd like to see an interview with Lynch where he's asked things which don't allow him a springboard for ethereal tangents. What's your favorite breakfast cereal? Shit like that. You know?
Cheerios...are such a BLESSING. They remind us right from the get go. To be...cheerful and and and happy. As we start. The day. That that’s why it’s the most *important* meal of the day. They shout.such a bliss. The milk. White. White. White as death and the great beyond flows. It flows down and drowns the dots and they float. And they live in a beautiful harmony. Awaiting the spoon. The beautiful shining spoon like a mirror. You see yourself in a warped, mirror and then see the meal. You see your inner, living beauty. And you are reminded to be cheery as you have your cheerios. It’s a beautiful thing.
Criterion, you have spoiled me with how great your restoration on his films have been. Seeing the footage used here... Painful to see. Lynch is one of those film makers where you only watch the highest quality of his films. Thank god for Criterion. Now, let's have them remaster this interview.
I hate it when an interviewer asks David for examples for things. It is not relevant. David is so amazing at what he does that, I think people have a hard time realizing that asking for a "Straight" answer is no more than destroying the beautiful language of Cinema.
I just don't get it why everybody is calling him a genius. He can't even complete a full sentence that shows any deeper meaning behind his intensions or stop waiving with his fingers and distract so fundamentaly from what ever he is trying to explain, in the very same moment. Lynch is trying his best, I agree. But there is nothing worth of mentioning or idealize him es the best movie Maker of all times or even as genius. He just sucks in my opinion. I'm not a fan or glorify and kind of filmmaker. But as a example, compared to Takeshi Kitano. Kitano accomplished more then him. And is able to make his point clear by using straight words without making magic with his fingers or being called a genius. Tarkowski another example but I'm not going into detail here. I'm happy you found something you like at Lynch's work. Maybe he inspires you in some way. But this cult like, unfounded glorifying is a joke. Pleases the lord to you
This is one of his best interviews in my humble opinion! I love the sheer joy between him and the interviewer
Imagine getting off your shift at Bob’s Big Boy, you walk out the back door, and David Lynch is going through the garbage.
No.
Not again!
LOL!! That's great
His beautiful, thick hair full of garbage, saying "Beaauuutiful thing. Would you look at that."
The same as any other bum
This guy is so pure! He's the literal definition of an "Artist"
If by pure you mean eccentric and wierd then I agree.
In a good way
And this was before Mulholland drive!
