Sorry, but this review has so many errors and sadly showcase the lack of knowledge traditional car journalists have on EVs. First of the i-Pace does not charge at 150kWs, its has a peak speed of 100kWs. And referencing the cars GOM for actual range is the laziest and most deceitful way to demonstrate range of an EV. And the Audi charging from 10-80% SOC in 50 minutes? are you kidding me? Where did you guys get this information? Please check out this exact test on my channel for reference, but this E-Tron along side the Porsche Taycan are the fastest charging EVs on the market. The E-Tron 55 will charge from 10-80% SOC in 25 minutes, which is half the time this guy is telling you! The E-Tron peaks at 150kW but has the flattest charging curve of any EV. The E-Tron is also a size bigger than these two and is much bigger on the inside and offers substantial larger trunk as well (615 liters in SB and 650 liters in SUV vs the EQC's 500 liters). Come on Autocar, that one is easy! Just a simple Google search would have given you guys that one. The EQC also has a gross battery capacity of 85kWhs not 80. And the EQC is not the quickest to charge, it has a maximum speed of 110kW and does not have a flat curve like the E-Tron. So it is not the fastest to charge, that is the E-Tron by a good margin. You guys messed up big time here....
@@smashingwarden Well, it’s made in a different factory. The F-Pace is made in what used to be, from the end of the 1940’s, the Rover factory, in Solihull, whereas I-Pace manufacture is subcontracted to Magna-Steyr in Graz, in Austria.
@@richardwilton722 I honestly haven't searched anything about the quality control and reliability of the I-Pace, but I'm so disappointed with my F-Pace that I won't buy another Jaguar ever. Even worse considering cars are super expensive in my country so if I pay a premium I expect a premium experience. It was much worse than all the cheap cars I owned before.
@@smashingwarden That’s very disappointing. I have recently traded in my Jaguar for a less expensive make. It was an XE and I loved it. I needed a more practical car but Jaguar SUV’s are relatively expensive compared to saloons. The F-Pace is mechanically very similar to an XE but costs 30% more. Indeed, Jaguar Land Rover investor documents describe the XE as a “low profit” product, which, as a consumer, I translate to mean “good value”. Reliability wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t too bad. I had it from new to 100,000 miles. To be honest, I think cheaper cars tend to be more reliable than expensive ones. Fewer complicated things to go wrong and simply making more units means problems get ironed out faster.
"I'm watching the miles disappear off that range almost as quickly as they are disappearing under the wheels of the car". Errm yes, that's how a range gauge works. I assume you meant the range was disappearing faster? Or not. What was your point.
Yes. "I'm watching the miles disappear off that range almost as slowly as they are disappearing under the wheels of the car" or "I'm watching the miles disappear under the wheels of the car almost as quickly as they are disappearing off that range".
Think he just means how quickly the road is moving visually. So the road is going by quickly under the wheels (with a more micro perspective). The mileage shouldn't be dropping visually as quickly as the road is moving. Yes mathematically that's how the gauge works but he was trying to be more colorful with his language and I'm sure you got his point.
I just did a 150 mile motorway run from 100% in my i-pace and arrived with 38% left suggesting 240 miles or range, while that's some way off the claim I was doing 70mph except for road works so I expect at a lower speed 260 could be done. Thrashing to work and back on country roads yields about 200 miles which I don't think is bad either. I was expecting worse.
Driving an EQC I will not hesitate admitting that the Jag handles better as well as it is more beautiful. Range and charging time of the eTron are better. My choice was simply driven by comfort and building quality. The EQC is a great compromise between the two others. It might not beat them in all areas, but it beats each of them in some. And where it doesn’t beat them, it at least doesn’t lose badly.
A bit of false information. They said the e-tron takes 50min on a 150kw charger to charge from 10-80%. Actually even if the e-tron has the largest battery of them all. It’s also the one that will charge the fastest of them all. As it can hold 150kw all the way to 80porcent. The others don’t come near that average. Therefor it will charge faster. I’ve charged my e-tron from 15-80% in just over 20min. Also they say the Merc is the biggest. Maybe cause you have a sport back. But the regular e-tron has 660l boot space vs the 500l on eqc. Also the eqc is around 4,7m long. As a GLC. Vs the e-tron is 4.9m long as a GLE. Having 3 small kids this was a big factor for me choosing the e-tron 55. (Not sport back) As it’s a larger car then the eqc.
This review seems a little Jag biased. Referencing more Audi negatives and claiming the false charging times. I was hoping for an honest review/comparison of these 3 luxury SUV EVs.
Charging speed is way more important to me than absolute range. After a couple of hours you need a break anyway, so being able to hold 150kw up to 80% is a massive difference. So that's the etron ftw in this comparison. Only Porsche taycan and upcoming Kia/Hyundai can do this.
All these cars (especially etron and EQC) are very very inefficient EV's and if you want range then I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. My Tesla is 2.5x more efficient and a range to show for it; and I understand completely if you don't want a Tesla, but there are better options in future that are more sensible.
@@Tom55data A Tesla has so many shortcomings that I completely disregarded it as a choice. Noise levels (hugely important), quality issues and winter issues (not being able to open the doors at freezing conditions) were a dealbreaker. Also, who wants a battery powered car where you can't open the doors during an electrical malfunction? I guess burning to death at 2000 °C sounds appealing to some. Because that's what's facing some people driving a Tesla or the new e-tron.
If nothing else, all cars require a manual release, and funny enough tesla have manual release on all doors. Also tesla has a remote door open even the handle is frozen. I guess then the rest is wrong too.
Good overall review but flawed. How can the Merc be a winner with 169miles on a full charge?...get that it wasnt a scientific test in anyway just a reviewers viewpoint. Even if I Pace chomped through miles perceived quicker it did have a starting range of 240+. Ok I admit I could be biased as I was one of the first to own an I Pace in the UK, real range in Winter 220miles...I know I have over 20k miles on the clock now over 3 winters. I recently did a 215mile round trip on a heavy raining day on mostly dual carriageways and motorways and got back with 5%. Mine is on 20inch and HSE was doing 250miles in summer before software update so hoping it will be 260 realistic. Another fact you can have the regen on your default home screen like I do so its 1 click away, basically everything is customisable to be 1 press away you just drag the features you want and save, mine is on old infotainment and is laggy too so expect new one to be slicker. I wouldnt be surprised if Merc is quieter on the move, my ICE Merc 350cdi (diesel) and BMW (petrol) 640i if cruising at steady speed I would say they are quieter too and marginally better built inside. ps torque is 516lbft not 413lbft
Also criticizing the "only two" high or low level of regen in the Jaguar is a sure way to prove a lack of everyday familiarity and experience with driving EVs in general, IMHO.
Great review...but just a small correction that i-pace has 512lb ft of torque not 413. That's why it feels so much faster than the Mercedes and the Audi.
With the original infotainment system, you could set up your home screen to have the button that selects high or low regeneration right on that home screen, one touch away.
You say it as a negative, that the Audi and, maybe in particular, the EQC look like electrified versions of their petrol powered borthers. To me, it is quite the opposite; I love, that the EQC looks very much like the GLC ! "Make it look like a normal car, so people won't be scared by the high tech internals" ?? I _LOVE_ the high tech internals, just in the _classic_ design. Especially for the Mercedes, which made a brilliant looking car in the GLC. Why not carry that on, instead of making some weird futuristic design, like the Koreans did back in the day. I like classic stuff ;-)
Everytime I watch a video on luxury EV’s they remind me at 35k just how good my E Niro is. It has a better range than these three and cost 30k less. The I pace is the best of these cars, beautiful bit of kit!
Have you actually owned a luxury car? If you drive an A6/A7 or 5 series, or even an A5/3 series and you go back to an A3, you're like "what kind of crap is this?". So yes, they're stupidly expensive but the refinement, build quality, comfort is above and beyond what you get in small/normal family cars.
Great review thanks. It’s not all about how these three models drive, for me it’s much more, where the Mercedes EQC has regenerative paddles behind the steering wheel, and the mbux display and and safety features that goes with it also the how silent the EQC is and the superb sound system on the Amg line. I agree the EQC wins out over the Audi and I pace.
It’d have to be the Jag, of those 3, but I do think they have to equip i-PACE mk2 with another 50 miles ‘real world’ range! That is where improvement is needed... but still a brilliant car 3 years on.
Having owned the E-Tron and the EQC, Audi wins for me. Despite James’ comments, the Audi handles far better on Adaptive Air Springs that the Mercedes, which is wallowy, even in ‘dynamic’ mode. Soft springs and adaptive dampers on the Mercedes. The Audi is larger inside, much nicer controls and you feel in rather than on the seat. I couldn’t believe the difference in cabin quality and vehicle handling. The Mercedes is a softer ride, and fractionally quieter. And the Mercedes gives full power all the time, the e-Tron limits to 335bhp unless you select s on the transmission or dynamic mode to get the full 400. But for me that’s it. The most crucial difference is charging speed, the EQC will handle 11kw AC where available, but on a 150kw charger I’ve never got more than 75kw in the Mercedes (max quoted 110kw) whereas the e-Tron is always at or near 150. When you’re in the queue, or travelling with your family, that means you’re in and out in 12 mins in the Audi, and more like 30 mins in the EQC despite that having a smaller battery, I.e. less to replenish. Efficiency was roughly the same, the EQC in winter 2.4-2.7, the E-Tron 2.2-2.4 mi/kWh. I’m looking forward to trying the jaguar soon, with a view to replacing the EQC on the drive !
I don’t think you can do 1 pedal driving to a complete stop on the e-tron. Also with the old Touch Pro Duo, you can switch between low and high regenerative braking with a single touch when setup correctly on screen. Also your specs on the I-PACE is wrong. It has 512 ft-lb of torque NOT 413!
I have really come to like Audi with my last car purchase, but jaguar just might win me over. Most reviews I have seen recommend the jaguar's drivability above the others, and I don't believe I like the 4 rings/aesthetics enough for a full second less on the 0-60. If someone wants to gift me a Porsche taycan that would be acceptable.
On the back of this review I have just had a test drive in the Merc. What this review fails to mention is that if you are used to an Audi the Merc has an off centre seating position which is awful. There is also a gap between the lumbar support and the upper seat crossmember, this means for taller occupants you sit with a curved spine. Hence I will not be ordering the Merc.
To be fair. My MINI electric did 1,100 miles on £35 of electricity at home and I’ve not even moved to a cheap overnight rate yet. Even if these cars only averaged 2 mi/kWh and they were charged at home on a 5p/kWh rate then the same 130 miles would cost £3.25. Of course the rapid charging rates are gonna be higher, much like buying petrol or diesel on the motorway is. Most owners will barely go near a rapid charger unless on a longer journey as most trips will be covered by at home charging which is infinitely cheaper.
Heck my Discovery will do 130 miles on less than 25 quid’s worth of diesel! I know, I know, home charging is much cheaper but still. And remember in 9 years all the financial incentives for EVs disappear.
@Wooly Chewbakker actually, despite the UK government trying to ban ICE cars by 2030, there is literally no chance of it happening. Even if EV sales hit an optimistic of 200,000 in 2021, and continue through to 2029. There would be over 2 million EV cars on UK roads out of a total 43 million currently registered cars. So even if EV sales are good, only 5% of UK cars would be electric by 2030. So the ban won't happen in 2030, because it can't happen
@Wooly Chewbakker yeah of course I know that, ICE cars just can't be banned, total car sales of all types are over 2 million per year. The government won't accept their tax revenue drop off from 2 million cars sold to 200,000. The government revenue from car sales would drop by 90% instantly!!
A little confusing. The presenter says the EQC win slightly from the I-Pace because the achieved range is closer to the claimed range on the EQC. However, both the claimed and achieved ranges are higher I-Pace, which means more miles travelled per charge for the I-Pace whilst still being cheaper than the EQC.... so why was it ever so slightly better?? Have I misunderstood the rational used to arrive at the above conclusion?
@@zuhermarwan6513 Well to some it isn't, but to others is might be very important. I.e. if you are a person that travels more than 120 miles a day then forgetting to charge your car overnight once, can have a significant impact with different cars. But yes I agree, range is not all that important because no one thinks of the significant benefits of charging at home all the time vs having to go to the petrol station frequently and how much time that ends up consuming over the year.
Thanks for a judicious verdict with the previously apparently standard setting Jaguar i-pace, up against two German cars, being narrowly beaten despite a review by an English reporter. In the mid seventies, I could expect a Mercedes-Benz S-Class to lose overall in a scrap against the Jaguar XJ 12 5.3. or XJ6 both for ride comfort and dynamics.
Good Morning James - I'm considering buying a used ev, the cars you're driving in this video are the 3 I'm looking at , a 2020 / 21 model is in my price range with mileage around 50,000 , what should I look out for ? I only drive a short distance to work with the odd journey 150 miles Any information / help would be great Many Thanks - Garry B in Manchester UK
I love my I-Pace, it’s such a pleasure to drive and one of the best looking cars on the road in my opinion. I have the Santorini Black with cream interior and pano roof, what a combo. The range isn’t great and it eats up charge like no tomorrow so I get that it wouldn’t suit those doing high mileage but if you mainly use your car around town I don’t think you can go far wrong, especially with their bargain used prices right now!
He chooses the EQC because it has more "resilient" range while the small battery means it has the worst actual real-world range. He said all the cars had ~100% battery and the EQC showed 169 miles (what?) while the i-pace showed 238, so even if the EQC is a little pessimistic and the i-pace is a little optimistic this 'decision' is nonsense. Every test shows that the i-pace will go further on its battery than the EQC. And this constant praise for Audi interiors in every test featuring an Audi is beyond ridiculous, yeah they're fine but they're not special in this company. I'd say the Audi is the least elegant, the least stylish and the least well designed in this group while the materials and build are no better. As for the 'mirrors', there's absolutely no value in those daft cameras, just cost and a loss of functionality, with a mirror you have the option to move your head around to massively increase your field of vision, it's an idiotic solution to a problem that didn't exist, yet it's praised. Anyway, nice to see the Jag come second because when I adjust for Autocar's usual pro-German bias I take that as a clear win for the i-pace.
In December 2021 l was contemplating changing my merc glc 43 (which I loved apart from the mpg) for an EV. Of course l tested the eqc (electrified glc) which was similar apart from having inferior brakes, but thought the cost excessive. So were costs of the other posh German makes. Then l tried the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and was astonished by the class of materials and build, and for me the car (with 4wd) drove very like the glc 43. I was lucky to get a dealer showroom order with all the bells and whistles which was delivered in April 2022. No problems at all since then. The eqc with similar kit would have cost some £20k more. The hyundai depreciation l estimate at 38 % (not good), but better than the merc at 47%. In monetary terms, an additional 14k. The historic luxury classification needs to be dropped. Some recent Mercs and BMWs have been criticised for poor materials and botched RHD conversions. Reviewers should not henceforth call any car luxury or premium before it has been tested. ..
Imo the eqc is the best allrounder especially for people who drive it a lot or using it as a company car. You can get charge me for it which lets you charge your car for €0,36 per kwh up to 50kw per hour and €0,55 if it's charging faster than 50kw per hour in the Netherlands it's €0,14 - €0,35 cheaper per kwh. I'm planning to get a used Jag because it's much cheaper, i like the exterior/interior more and I'm won't be driving it a lot as it would be my private car.
New Tesla X should trump these. It has much better range, better performance, more utility (can be had as a 7 seater), better charging network (free for S & X drivers), new interior is huge step up in quality... I’m surprised he noted Audi’s quality but no mention of the abundance of hard plastics.
@@almac9203 Ugly is subjective. Recent Teslas have show improvement in quality so it it will be interesting to see if the new refresh continues this trend

@@almac9203 why are you so mad? First nobody sat in the new Teslas, since deliveries take place this month. Second, the Tesla model 3 achieved 3 stars and recommended on CR. The e tron uses cheap hard plastics all through its cabin. Touch the center console and compare to the cheaper model 3.
Well….A year on and pondering an EQC…..it is the car I should want and will be very good in so many ways BUT….that range of 160/180 miles is hard work when I often drive 187 miles to Cornwall and 135 miles to Sussex. Neither destination has charging facilities and the Sussex run is a “day return”. In Cornwall I will be pancake flat and stuck unless I spend ages gazing at Cornwall Services on Bodmin Moor and Exeter Services on the way back…I don’t have that time. Sussex will be much the same….but the charging points harder to find and on the outward trip I have to get there for 9am so have a 5.30am start. On the way back it would be a charge stop at Salisbury….but I’m trying to get home by 9.30pm after a long day so it means I must think of 11pm or more. Hmmm….I still think that EV works well in town and the BMW i3 nailed that perfectly in 2014 and remains relevant to this day…nobody has got size, purpose and practicality so well sorted. Longer journeys…stay with my 2018 diesel and think of an Hybrid petrol BUT how flawed is that?? This past few weeks we have been using my wife’s trusty 2011 Citroen C3 1.6 Hdi (diesel)..a car which happily returns 55mpg in short journey town work…I have done 345 miles on half a tank…depreciation has gone into reverse recently and Road licence is free of charge. A full Main Dealer service was £138 and insurance is £250pa. Maybe we already have the answer…just keep what we have got….but for the Planet and public perception…it does not feel the right answer.🤔🤔🤔😥🫢
@@DetailingCars Glad to hear you like yours. I thought I would love it, but it was a very frustrating ownership experience. I would choose the others next time around, or better yet a clean-sheet EV.
In a straight line the ipace and eqc don't have much difference. Eqc has the same thump in the back and has recorded 0-60 as low as 4.8. I'd rather take the EQC for looks and technology. Ipace just looks awkward to me, but looks are subjective.

The e tron is still more than fast enough in a streight line, handles corners just fine, not amazing but better than you would expect for a 2.5 tonn suv
I can't figure out the mindset that an EV needs to be different than an ICE vehicle. They serve the same purpose, just with a different fuel source, so a similar form factor makes sense.

On the other hand my Jaguar Ipace I love to drive it can’t enjoy any other car so much to drive and control. Jaguar Ipace may have issues but I believe in Live life Kingsize
Isn’t the cars battery range on the dash based on historical driving? Saying that the Mercedes has the benefit of the doubt with 169 miles on a full charge is concerning considering a claimed 255 miles. In my opinion, this is one of the most important facts and it seems to me that you may be wrong.
The Jag is on a bespoke platform that will not be carried over for future i-Pace models. If and when the whole range goes pure EV, it will be obsolete tech. Like nearly all EV's, lack of usable range (and the price point) is a deal breaker.
Jaguar is the best designed but it has to be. JLR is far smaller than Daimler & VW group, so they need to focus their attention to EVs in order to stay competitive next to the Germans.
None. You should buy none of them. Buy a tesla so you can actually drive places without shitting yourself about where you're going to charge and if the charger will even work when you get there. Some day it won't be like this. But today it is.
Absolutely buy the ugliest car currently in production, with terrible build quality, my Tesla S in two years of ownership has had three internal rattles that have never been fixed despite 9 attempts, quality of interior is poor, just exchanged it for slower but so much more engaging better built BMW 330e as most of my journeys in Covid times are. 15 miles ...Tesla great infrastructure, fast but straight line pace is a one trick pony...not engaging
Idk how much petrol is in the UK these days, but $30 for 130 miles is abysmal. That's easily 3x worse than gas. It costs me about $30-$35 dollars to fill my car up, and it's good for 300 miles, well the car tells me it's good for 300 miles, but then it tells me I get 17mpg lol so idfk. The car is a performance car so it isn't tuned for mpg and it's still 3x more economical. Wow.
Car reviewer dramatising cost. No EV driver I know uses Ionity unless emergency as it's the most expensive. It's like you picking the most expensive petrol station and doubling the price. Most people charge at home at 10th of price or go to other rapid chargers around 40p max ( I.e. about half price of Ionity). Its this type of journalism that winds me up as it put ICE owners off going electric, you can see my other comment where he is factually incorrect elsewhere. I still have 7 seater Diesel Merc and 640i petrol convertible as they are cars with different purpose. My IPace I have done over 20k miles 99% of the time use it, have owned since 2018.
Easily adjustable regen is not a small thing to me either. I loved using it on the Kia EV6 so I am glad some others are bringing that forward. I used it like down shifting when in traffic and needing to slow down. Will try to test ride the Jag next week cause they say the EV6 doesn't handle as good I my test drive was only in the city. Drove an etron and was bored stiff and the Merc seems pretty high in price.

@@stuck1n80s This review has so many errors it's not even funny....
@@stuck1n80s There are people with e-trons that let water into the cabin when it rains outside.
I did find it slightly funny when you referred to the EQC as a “GLC” ( 14:35 ).
Jaguar I Pace 😍
Can’t wait to see the Mach E in the mix here. May not be as premium, but I think will be sufficient for shoppers of these kind of vehicles.
I don't know why but Jaguar and Land rovers r always above for me like an emotion
In the IPACE You can switch the regen on the Home Screen too, just add the EV tile, then you have a switch direct on the Home Screen
I have had my i-pace for 2.5 years, every time I drive it I think how lucky I am!
With the original infotainment system, you could set up your home screen to have the button that selects high or low regeneration right on that home screen, one touch away.
I have that set up... never used it passed the first 3 months 😅
E tron Sportback the Best !!
I don’t see bias in this review at all 🤔
Great review thanks.
£30 for 130 miles???? I'll be holding on to my 3 litre DIESEL A6 Avant for a while longer yet thanks!
Same, I own an A6 as well.
My favorite car I have ever had, so fun to drive and the interior is awesome! I don't understand why more people don't know about this car
All pretty nice! Think I’d pick the I-Pace they still look great on the road. Upcoming BMW iX3 looks great too
Nice video as always Autocar! 👏
Just give me the Jaguar. Stuff the Gerry stuff. ( My sister calls them Shaguars )
You know range isn’t the only aspect of an EV right?
@@zuhermarwan6513 Well to some it isn't, but to others is might be very important. I.e. if you are a person that travels more than 120 miles a day then forgetting to charge your car overnight once, can have a significant impact with different cars. But yes I agree, range is not all that important because no one thinks of the significant benefits of charging at home all the time vs having to go to the petrol station frequently and how much time that ends up consuming over the year.
The jaguar is stunning, and I can’t wait get my one next week 😃. I’m going for the Blue HSE
I pace 👏👏❤❤
An inaccurate review. The EQC will NOT charge at 150KW and has the smallest boot, NOT the largest.
Love the I-PACE. But given it’s taking forever to get a MY23, ie nearly 1 year, it really doesn’t matter what the updates. Agree, Etron is a ‘tank’!!
Incredible how much time your eyes are off what’s ahead using these screens. On public roads this is scary.
I did think that the Etron at one point was over the white line when using the screen
The used car prices on these vehicles & Tesla’s makes them so appealing especially the jaguar for less than 20k seems like a steal!
Good Morning James - I'm considering buying a used ev, the cars you're driving in this video are the 3 I'm looking at , a 2020 / 21 model is in my price range with mileage around 50,000 , what should I look out for ? I only drive a short distance to work with the odd journey 150 miles
Any information / help would be great
Many Thanks - Garry B in Manchester UK
Love Audi e-tron sportback.
How does This compare to the Tesla model X. I know the specs but I was wondering about comparing the handling and ride.
"11kW charging", you mean 11kW AC presumably in the Jag
1:30 lol the rear light units on the Jag don't line up, niceeee
When they do the Lego version of the IPace, the rear lights will have a full row of pieces of disalignment.
@Wooly Chewbakker that was pre facelift
Just the camera angle, none of the other shots have that effect.
@Wooly Chewbakker it does indeed !
@Wooly Chewbakker nope new one can support 11kwh charging on 2021 model along with pivi pro and noticed rear seats are now 40/20/40 split too.
Great video! I always wonder why the model x isn’t included in this category?
I have had my i pace since 2019 and love it!
I could have bet they would choose the Mercedes. But sales show that not many other people do.
You can tell that the test driver doesn't like the Audi. He tries to find something positive, but it doesn't come across as convincing.
True. He is not neutral ... just a jaguar lover ...

Audi used to be noted for their simple but elegant body design. That E-tron is a horribly over-fussy dog's dinner.
Surprising the Jag did so well, the door on the Audi wouldn't work in Canadian winters, the Merc topped it....
Great and clear talk 👍
New Tesla X should trump these. It has much better range, better performance, more utility (can be had as a 7 seater), better charging network (free for S & X drivers), new interior is huge step up in quality...

In a straight line the ipace and eqc don't have much difference. Eqc has the same thump in the back and has recorded 0-60 as low as 4.8. I'd rather take the EQC for looks and technology. Ipace just looks awkward to me, but looks are subjective.

Great review though. 👌🏻
Never heard of Jaguar referred to as part of the ‘main 3’
Mercedes always numero uno for me! Perfect German engineering and craftmanship 🤩
I can't figure out the mindset that an EV needs to be different than an ICE vehicle. They serve the same purpose, just with a different fuel source, so a similar form factor makes sense.
Have seen all of them live, Jag looks futuristic and exciting, Merc has a lot of presence and Audi looks like any other Audi suv with silver fugly front.
I don’t believe it supports 150kw rapid charging - only up to 100kw, the Jaguar I-Pace that is
Jaguar all day long, dithering reporter “by this much” comment 😂😂😂😂
A bit of a pompous Jaguar focused world view of a review.
I had a
Mercedes C180 2001 which I still love
Mercedes C220d 2013 which was eco
Now I have Jaguar since an year went for a Software update twice and got a new
Mercedes EQC which I feel less comfy than my 2001 C180 and build quality is gone down over the years.
On the other hand my Jaguar Ipace
I love to drive it can’t enjoy any other car so much to drive and control.
Dun understand the logic of range resiliency. The I-Pace has the highest real world range, way higher than the EQC and e-tron.
The Mercedes is the oldest platform dating 2015 it even has a gap for a petrol engine. To me the Audi looks so right, but I may be out of date
This guy just likes the jaguar but cant say why
Says a lot when the highlight of all 3 cars for him was the Audi plug in flap..
They are not all driving on air springs. The EQC doesn't have air springs
The Jag is on a bespoke platform that will not be carried over for future i-Pace models. If and when the whole range goes pure EV, it will be obsolete tech. Like nearly all EV's, lack of usable range (and the price point) is a deal breaker.
e tron looks the best, has the best tech and is the most comfortable. i pace is the fastest, mercedes doesnt really do anything best
Jaguar is the best designed but it has to be. JLR is far smaller than Daimler & VW group, so they need to focus their attention to EVs in order to stay competitive next to the Germans.
Etron: bigger battery + slower + less range = too heavy

Poor reliability I suppose. And inferior to German's
