I hope I am wrong, I would be very happy to be wrong, but the past decade has taught me not to hope too much.
However excited I am for this, I still remind myself it’s still a very alpha game with not much to do that I don’t get bored of after 20 minutes when the wow factor wears off.
For vulkan, if you are getting a lot of crashes. Make sure you use fullscreen instead of a window. There appears to be issues with the window version of vulkan making it very unstable.
I am loving 3.23 except for a couple of things, and I guess because you don't fly with mouse and keyboard you haven't noticed, but a couple of huge bugs for me (new and old) are that you cannot roll your ship ('q' & 'e') in free look mode (z) (HUGE affect on gameplay), and speed limiter still is not precise (bugged since 3.18)
This reminds me of the 3.18 release.. "its coming very soon!" :D Well, they removed the option to transfer your account to the EPTU, so I guess it's pretty much ready for live..

I truly believe new players should be able to get a bite size of each type of content within city landing zones. before they ever get in a ship and leave. Once building interiors are in, it would be a perfect slate to have delivery, engineering, salvage, and even freelance criminal hunting with some small areas that allow weapons
To be fair to CIG, the example with the cargo isn't a great one, given they are trying to get the cargo update into this patch, but now it'll be in a point patch in a few weeks.

Yes, I looked and heard about the warning not to lower the landing gear too early and then crawl like a turtle to the landing pad. And yes, I still remember when in the Stanton system there was only the Olisar port, and then, with the landing gear extended, your ship could not move quickly. But it was also convenient in that for sharp braking you only had to lower the landing gear.

What GPU do you have that Vulkan runs better for you? I get more FPS on DX11 with my 3070 and also there was a bug with Vulkan where FPS would drop really low after a short while. I heard someone say it fills your VRAM without clearing it.
Speaking of doing cargo missions within the distribution centres, and with how many players already using dual sticks for space flight, I think it would be so much fun if there was some skid-steer/fork-lift-like equipment to use to move pallets, boxes, crates, ship equipment, etc, around. Should be no problem adding some gameplay like this.

I've been playing for a couple weeks and sometimes it was pretty rough. I played this morning for an hour and really had only had the typical SC fiddling. For the most part it was good. Some places were oddly devoid of NPC's..., but game was fast and smooth. We are close.
In my opinion this is not ready for live at least not in the current EPTU. Armistice zones arent going away after leaving them. Contracts arent being accepted and stored in contract manager. Kiosks arent working with upscaling turned on. Its just not ready for live especially with the first two isssues i mentioned.
I will wait a couple of weeks after release of the update. I usually end up playing a more stable game... usually. Also, I wonder if we'll ever be able to open our ship ramps or close it from my mobiglass someday.

No. The only mission that will be available for OD is that final package delivery. If you haven't gotten to and done the SPK mission, you will lose your chance at getting the OD rewards for it. If you need help getting those done before 3.23 goes live, ask in chat for help.

Question regarding the eye tracker. I have a Samsung odyssey g9 that's 49" wide. Will the tobii eye tracker work for that size? On their website it says it works with a "wide range" but the says up to 30" screens.

Meanwhile look at Elite Dangerous' promises 12 years ago, how much they forced players to pay to date, and come back here and tell me who should be looked at for legal action. It would appear that the word "released' really means a lot to gamers. A word to describe a title, but has no overall effect on what was promised for what was paid, and what was delivered. In fact, I believe there are many games that make big promises and never meet those promises. But will gladly sell you another version of the game. All in the goal for funding dev of a game.

I've been playing eptu a little to get used to some of the gameplay, that's helped a lot. It won't take long to adjust for most people.

3.23 has not even gone to wide testing in the PTU. If they are going from EPTU straight to PU I am concerned. It may be another "ding dong ditch."
The only diff between EPTU and PTU is the letter "E" in the patch notes.

It would appear that the word "released' really means a lot to gamers. A word to describe a title, but has no overall effect on what was promised for what was paid, and what was delivered.
In fact, I believe there are many games that make big promises and never meet those promises. But will gladly sell you another version of the game.
