This is pretty good, I’ve used a number pad before with custom keys for CSP but I found it limited. A great alternative is X-keys. It’s a bit more expensive but with it. The 24 keys keypad has 2 configurations for 2 apps. And although you have configure the keys on a Mac or PC, the x-keys has built in memory allowing you to use in on an iPad, Android tablet CPS, laptop or desktop. Plus I like the red and blue lights.
That's a good alternative, I'll check it out
This is a beautiful video ❤️ I have a tab s6 lite and this video is really helpful thanks 👍🏼
Thank you and glad this video helped you, stay tune for more content in the future
I had a Bluetooth numerical keyboard sitting in my drawer. I never thought ab9ut using it with csp when I'm on my tablet. Thanks.
Glad I could help!
@@thescribblemedia is there a way to get control and alt button on the keypad for clip studio paint?
@@Paulieinspiration you can try a third-party app called Sharpkeys that can remap keyboards for your customizable setup
@@thescribblemedia thanks for the advice. I will look into it.
@@Paulieinspiration no problem
Thank you 😭🙏
You're welcome 😊
Hi, may I ask what stand you are using for your ipad 😅☺️ thanl you so much 1:27
Its a MC N8 Upgraded laptop stand Aluminum Alloy 6+9 levels adjustable height portable foldable non-slip laptop holder
is there a way to program just ctrl ALONE by holding it down? what does it need besides the command ^? what i need is to use ctrl + a button which already has a hotkey on my numpad. Or ctrl + shift + click of my pen
as far I know for pc, it needs a third party app that remaps all your keys, and as for ipad or mac I haven't tried it before
dude what stand are u using? I looks good.
You mean the stand that I used for the Ipad? Its an MC N8 upgraded laptop stand alloy 6-9 levels adjustable height. I bought it online
I would want encoders (twisty knobs) for adjusting brush size, opacity, etc.
check out our latest video for keypads, it has twisty knobs for shortcuts
nice stickers!
thanks
real smooth, short and sweet thank you
Thank you
Hey there! I really love this but I was wondering, if it is only possible with this keyboard? I bought one similar and tried this but CSP does not respond to the shortcuts I set. I am thinking it may be the keyboard. Does this particular keyboard just have a better compatibility with the program?
hey there, what os are you using? are you on PC or iPad? since I have only used this on the iPad pro
Does it work same as in windows
yes, it works the same for windows
Thx bro
You’re welcome
i only wanna buy this keyboarded for the lols
also it looks nice .
Great idea!
Thanks 😊
Very Interesting Idea mate! LOVE IT!
Thanks mate
Stream Deck also works
Yeah, I've seen it on a channel where they use stream deck as a shortcut keypad
Thanks for that, I think that maybe my choice.
@@MaZEEZaM this video is actually the alternative for it. Because that thing is so expensive
Can we use mouse to work with clip studio paint on ipad? I tried to use bluetooth mouse so I can work with clip studio paint like on my computer but the cursir (or circle) acted like Hand tool. It was only moving canvas, not doing anything I want for example selecting with lasso tool or move objects with move tool. Is there anything I can do to make it work like in PC? I have apple pencil but when I make comics, panelling and texting phase is far faster done with mouse and keyboard.
I have tried to use a bluetooth mouse on an ipad and tried drawin on csp, and it works. It may not be as accurate as the pencil but it still works. You have just to select a pen tool on the mouse and use your left finger to navigate the canvas.
Do you know if there is a way to save these shortcuts or if I Dave the workspace does it also save the shortcuts because sometimes when lying down I won't use the keypad but go back to csp edge keyboard..
you mean save the shortcuts as profiles for cross platforms? actually shortcuts will be saved as long as you won't uninstall the app or reformat your OS
how do make incremental zoom in/out = CMD +/- to be assigned to the keypad? also if I assign a key to Brush, how to scroll through the different brushes? Thank you in advance. This is one of the best videos! Stream decks are too expensive.
Thank you for taking an interest in the video, really appreciated it. As for your question, I think the incremental zoom for the shortcut can be found on File>Preferences>Canvas, there is an adjustment of the percentage of zoom increments that you can tweak. And as for the scrolling for different brushes, you can just assign the same key for the different brushes you need, that is what I did since the keypad has limited keys. You can assign the same key for different tools and it can scroll to different tools once you press the same button. Hope that answers your question.
@@thescribblemedia thank you so much! I did everything as you said and it works great! You're a genius!
My main issue with this and other methods are that CSP annoyingly has two sets of customization, one using regular keys, but the other using modifiers like ctrl/alt/shift, etc. Some of things I want to do require the modifiers. Couple of other options - there is the gk21s - a programmable bluetooth mechanical numbpad. Also, the 8bitdo zero gamepad has a keyboard mode where you can use the inputs as keyboard inputs.
both gk21s and 8bitdo zero are viable options but if I am not mistaken there is a work around for that problem in the customization of keys by using an autohot key app on windows
@@thescribblemedia autohotkey is fine for windows, although I prefer a gamepad and keymapping software like antimicro. My issue, which I should have clarified above, is the lack of options when using csp on Android. Although I just recently learned of the Microsoft bt numberpqd which apparently allows you to program the buttons and save to device
@@jinyoon7244 I haven’t tried the android version of the csp yet since I have an Ipad pro for mobile use, but on the ipad version there is a slidable shortcut keys for the shift, cmd, ctrl keys on the left side of the screen, it can be tedious if your free hand is on the keypad switching back and forth for the screen.
Hi. What is the stand you used for the pen display ?
Hello, I used a north bayou monitor arm.for 17”-30” monitor
Hehe smart
thanks
It would be nice if there is a macro keyboard for lefthanded people.
I think a good alternative is a macro keyboard with knob, but I don't know if this is usable for ipad

Any issues using this with Affinity or Procreate? I have CSP but would like to be able to use the number pad for my other apps as well.
As for the moment procreate can't seem to assign shortcut keys on the keypad, maybe its specific to keyboards. But I've tried assigning shortcut keys for Affinity, and it works with no problem.
@@thescribblemedia Great to know! Thanks!!!
@@ScottDuBar you're welcome
@@thescribblemedia Any issue switching between Affinity and CSP? The keypad still works properly?
@@ScottDuBar as far as I use, it works perfectly fine with no issues, I use an ipad pro 2018
Ok, i clicked the thumbnail cause i was curious since it was labeled "BEST".
Still can't beat my setup which is a: Novation mini launchpad + bome's midi translator classic.
A mini launchpad is about $20 and the bome classic software is free.
Youll get so much more shortcut keys you can map. (80 keys, to be exact!)
The only tradeoff compared to a normal keyboard is that it's harder to press keys. Because its made for music performers. But you'll get used to it in 5 mins.
I thought this would be a temporary setup before I buy the more expensive stream deck. But I don't think the stream deck can top this anymore!
First: I'm not a musician so the Novation is not for me, Second: the keys on the Novation are not ergonomic for my hand or fingers, the key feels looks the same and feels the same, so it would end up pressing the wrong key for the shortcut, and I don't like drawing and keep looking at my keyboard at the same time, Third: I don't use 80 keys for shortcuts I typically use 15-20 keys from day to day basis, so 80 keys is just overkill might might as well use a normal keyboard which has more keys than a Novation and Fourth: The Novation is too big for me to carry anywhere, I like a smaller numpad keypad that is light and easy accessible anywhere.
Im from a 3rd world country and wondering does your numpad comes with wireless usb connector, or is it strictly work by bluetooth? Cause if its run only on bluetooth thats mean I cant buy any numpad localy 😭
Thanks for asking, this numpad keyboard works only on bluetooth but if you want a usb numpad there may be stocks at your local store, since I tried to find a bluetooth numpad at my local store to no avail.
I was disappointed when looking around for a shortcut keyboard for my iPad that only Procreate has an official and lots of unofficial keyboards. But CSP has nothing, they need to step up their game.
I'll try this method although I think it will be a little limited. Thanks!
you're welcome, actually there are lots of wireless keypads or keyboards that have more keys to work with, I just prefer this one since most of the shortcuts I use are a bit limited.
