"Use Vector erase instead of erasing all those lines individually!" Me, who had just finished erasing a bunch of annoying lines individually: *Record scratch*
Instructions unclear: accidentally hacked into government army bases and used secret high tech laser beams to draw circle. Can't find the vector lines now
CSP is a lot cheaper than Photoshop and doesn't use subscription pricing. Though CSP is not as powerful with rendering effects, It does have a lot of comic-specific tools that Photoshop does not (speech bubbles and panel frames, for instance). Give the free trial a shot! 🙂
"I've been drawing these comics for a billion years now." 😂 This was a tutorial video unlike any I've ever seen, and I can genuinely say I wish all tutorial videos flowed like this. This was such a useful, easy to follow, and entertaining video. Ten out of ten. NO. ELEVEN OUT OF TEN.
Vector layers was literally a game changer for me. Completely changed the way I draw in CSP. And no drawing app has them that work nearly as well. That I know of anyways.
Vector layers saved my life when I started drawing seriously. I opened this video expecting to hear them mentioned and started giggling when they were the first tip. Excellent tutorial!
I've been using vector layers for almost 2 years now, and I've NEVER known that the "simplify line" tool also removes stray lines. stray lines in lineart drive me INSANE
Effing hell. You just blew my mind, sir. Vector lines seem to fix all of the problems I've had drawing since I started dabbing on digital art. I can't believe I never even tried to used them. You've earned yourself a subscriber.
I've been working in lash for the past 5 years, so I've been very cozy with vector based drawing. Drawing in raster based stuff has always been a suuper pain, but your insights change things
What the heck, I've tried to find how u do these things for ever and u just cleared me up so much :D, this video was like the funniest tutorial video ever
Switching from paper to an app on a computer is actually really difficult for me. Especially since it’s a whole new learning curve and something to get use to. This video helped out a lot and saved me from hours of impatience redrawing and frustration so thanks!
Thanks dude ! Was wondering about the vector thing so I'm happy you explained it and also I can already see how useful the temporary hot keys are gonna be, now I just gotta change all my settings and hope that I don't forget after a day (or less lmao)
I thought these features existed and I COULDN’T FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIND THEM OR WHAT THEY’D BE UNDER BECAUSE I’M NEW TO DIGITAL ART BUT OH MY G’s THANK YOU!
Thanks! I've been using CSP for awhile, and have been trying to speed up my workflow. I'm also glad to see CSP gain marketshare, since it's very cost-effective.
Thanks a lot bro. That vector thing is very useful. Erasing those lines with a "zoom in zoom out" just to see if I erase it correctly in line are very time consuming. LOL. Thanks bro! 😄
Kind of dumbfounded right now. I've been using vector layers in Paint Tool SAI for line art, for years, but it's just called "line tool", so I never knew that's what they were. I've only been trying to use CSP as my default for a few months, and it's great to know the same feature is there. Gonna take some time to get used to new names and places, but the results are definitely worth it.
Oh My god I just got a tablet for my bday and thought this program would be nice but when i started i was already going crazy but with these little tricks, My god!! Thank you! I cant wait to try tomorrow cuz its 3am XD
Modifier keys? Modifier keys are a lot like hot keys. For those who don't know, hot keys are like a shortcut to a tool. You press a button, it changes to that tool. Press another button, it changes to another tool, and so on. But a modifier key is a button you hold down to temporarily swap to another tool, and letting go swaps you right back to whatever you were doing.
The main thing that always kept me from investing in newer software from SAI was my fear of losing vector drawing tools. Thank you for this. You really should have an affiliate link somewhere for clip.
There is more about hot keys in CSP. You can assign multiple tools to the same hot key. After that when you press that key, the tools will be activated one by one. For example, you can assign S for both Lasso Selection, Rectangle Selection, Polygon Selection then keep pressing S to get the Selection tool you want.
I'm glad you didn't just say "just practice" because that has gotten obvious, repetitive and it doesn't answer a thing. I knew with vectors in Flash you can snip excess but wasn't sure if that was possible in Clip Studio. I entirely didn't know about the pinch trick.
I came here just assuming this would be stuff I knew. I /did/ know about Vector lines- but I certainly hadn't been convinced to give them the old college try so well! Also Modifier keys look wild!! Well presented, too. excellent. Thank you.
I had no idea about vector erase! There's a feature like that in Illustrator with the merge tool but it's incredibly cumbersome and it ends up messing up your stroke widths (I always have to go back and fiddle with them when I do it). I might have to start using Clip Studio for my vector inking, hmm... thanks so much for the video!
My mind is literally blown right now. This is the most useful clip studio paint tutorial I've ever seen! This is probably one of the best tutorials I've ever seen PERIOD. Love that everything was to the point while still being fun and entertaining. Props to you man, you've achieved RUclips greatness in my book. Subscribed
the loadJ line at 3:27 lol and of course the egg line. Fantastic and amazing tutorial, like a small tiny morsel of the twitch streamed packed into tiny goodness.
Great, do you know about CSP Auto Actions?, Auto Actions allow you to simplify tasks that require multiple steps and allow you to achieve then in a single click (like making the current layer blue and then creating new layer on top to create a more refined sketch or Ink for example).
I am so pissed off that NO ONE taught me how to use vectors. I went to a highly respected technical center every school day. I created the winning poster that the tech center put up in the halls where they had conferences with international guests. I learned Illustrator and Photoshop. And N O O N E told me about vectors. I own Clip Studio Paint though, so thank you for this video and these tips, I'm excited to try them out!
"Otherwise I've just wasted 8 minutes of your life." Sir, you have just saved me thousands of future hours @_@
"Use Vector erase instead of erasing all those lines individually!"
Me, who had just finished erasing a bunch of annoying lines individually: *Record scratch*
HAHAHAHA XD
no no record scratch is using vector lines and bending them!!😆
made the same mistake of erasing all the lines with just the eraser :) hahha
Instructions unclear: accidentally hacked into government army bases and used secret high tech laser beams to draw circle. Can't find the vector lines now
Hmm. Try putting it in rice

1 year I'm on CSP and you're the first being able to teach me clearly how to use this hell of app
I feel this way about Photoshop. Now I just need a video as good as this one to teach me about it.
Tutorial very clear, was able to draw a circle. Great Tutorial, thanks! 👏
Halfway through the tutorial, I thought John Mulaney was teaching me how to use clip studio paint. Thanks for the wonderful Tutorial!
Wow, the only reason I was too scared to try out the vector stuff in Clip Studio was because I'd hadn't found it very useful in GIMP. This is awesome.
You've earned yourself a subscriber.
bruh i started with it, IM SO LUCKY I FOUND THIS xD
every single time i watch a new video using clip studio i learn something new about it. its a damn miracle program
The vector eraser is the main reason I give this tool a solid 10. Best tool ever!
I love vector layers for precision line work, it grants so much control and it makes fine tuning or correction easier
I know how you feel regarding the thing about not wanting other people to know. This is so incredible, thank you for sharing!!!
I only want to draw stick figures in csp and I am now VIBRATING with excitement. Thank you for this!
I'm not even halfway through this video, but already you make a much better case for CSP's vector functions than CSP's own video.
Just starting with Clip Studio, thanks!
After seeing this, all I can say: ALL HAIL THE VECTOR LAYER!
I've been working in lash for the past 5 years, so I've been very cozy with vector based drawing. Drawing in raster based stuff has always been a suuper pain, but your insights change things
Thank you for zooming in on the what you're clicking!!
Me -loves the comic , can't draw something , but still watched the entire video cause the artist is really good
As a new artist just learning how to draw and use the software this was so helpful omg
I'm a photoshop, illustrator user that just started testing out clip studio. This was so helpful, thank you!
Noooon you've revealed every tricks I'm already using
What the heck, I've tried to find how u do these things for ever and u just cleared me up so much :D, this video was like the funniest tutorial video ever
Thank you so much! Immediately got faster with the vector eraser.
Man I’ve been using Clip Studio for awhile now, but didn’t know many of these!! Thank u so much 😭
Why am I watching this? I don’t even have this art app thing
If you want to draw, perhaps you should at least try it. Free demo, dude. Also, it's damn cheap for its arsenal of features.
I have photoshop but I’m considering switching, supppperrr cheap and so many features.
Because he sounds like a voice actor for BIG MOUTH. Lol
As someone who is new to Clip Studio, this made my life easier. Thank you sir! Take my LIKE!
Gonna try to apply these tips right now!
Switching from paper to an app on a computer is actually really difficult for me. Especially since it’s a whole new learning curve and something to get use to. This video helped out a lot and saved me from hours of impatience redrawing and frustration so thanks!
I used vector layers all the time, but never got to look at these tools! You sir made my art go even faster!

finnaly... i dont even have clip studio but its so interesting to watch
edit(i Just got clip studio and this tutorial helps so much)
wow... i usually attempt to draw a circle and then undo like 13 times before i get it right now i can finally create the perfect shape every time
I thought these features existed and I COULDN’T FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIND THEM OR WHAT THEY’D BE UNDER BECAUSE I’M NEW TO DIGITAL ART BUT OH MY G’s THANK YOU!
Thanks! I've been using CSP for awhile, and have been trying to speed up my workflow. I'm also glad to see CSP gain marketshare, since it's very cost-effective.
I just love it the way you did the video hahaha so different and funny.
Thanks a lot bro. That vector thing is very useful. Erasing those lines with a "zoom in zoom out" just to see if I erase it correctly in line are very time consuming. LOL. Thanks bro! 😄
The moment you got up to the vector erasor part, I was in shock
I’ve been using Clip studio paint wrong! Thank you for teaching me your ways Sensei

This is super helpful, I'm still new when it comes to using Clip Paint Studio
I'm switching from photoshop to CSP and this is so helpful; would've never looked into the vector stuff. Really useful and concise, thanks!
Haha! Nice video! Straight to the point, juicy and crispy at the same time!
Thank You! Everything is so helpful for beginners like me and your video is so fun❤️
By minute 3:00 My brain melted as all of my artist fantasy tools were being exhibited as REAL!
I'm so glad this was recommended to me! This will make drawing a whole lot easier!! Thank you!

LOLOL! THAT'S why I've been laughing this whole time!
thank god im not the only one
For real though.
You have saved me so much time. Oh my god

A hero.

Having a solid, already popular oversimplified style is like 90% of the speed, but great tips regardless
