Another thing you can do to check values is: make a layer above all your layers, fill it with white and then set the blending mode to "color" and it will give you a grayscale picture. This way you can turn it of and on when you want to check.
Yeah I was going to say the same thing... I know that in PS is (I think) color or white balance... I just know I saw it the other day in a tutorial! LOL!!!
Bro I can't thank you enough, this is just what I needed... I'm still trying to figure out all the basics but you really just made that task 1000× easier, thank you!
I’ve been struggling with the basics since I’m completely new to digital art and this is super helpful! What’s great is that I feel that I can build upon this with the other tutorials out there that are more advanced/in-depth.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I’ve been doing digital art for almost a year and always doubted if I was doing this right. I watched multiple people explain their digital art process and yours is the only one that has broken it down perfectly for me. Thank you again for this, this really helped me.
I felt super bummed out when I got my first display tablet cause it felt so overwhelming... So glad you made this video, I'm halfway through it and I can't wait to go home and start drawing :D
excellent video..i just purchased a Huion Kamvas 13 for my 11 year old daughter..she loves Anime and has wanted 1 for ages...thank you so much for making it easier for both of us :--)...shall be checking out more of your vids !!!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. It was very helpful for me. I really wanted to try my hands in digital art but I did not had any idea about how this clip studio software works. But all thanks to you now for making this video so thorough and helping me and many people like me. Thanks again.
Ayy, didn't comment sooner, but I'm here now. Recently bought CSP, and I was looking for some tutorials! I remember watching your old opentoonz videos, and I'm really glad you made some easy to understand CSP videos as well! You always keep the necessary information and keep me engaged in your tutorials. Just wanted to thank you for that, you're doing a great job in your newer videos as well!
Grew up without internet or money.. had a very small library in a very small town and had no resources so I just thought I couldn't draw and didn't feel like drawing a bunch of ugly looking garbage so I just didn't. I didn't start taking art seriously until 2019 and I've come a long way since then!! I'm pretty damn good now. Thanks to countless tutorials, classes, and books.
I love your tutorial . I just started using clip studio and it so so confusing , i wanted to give up . Thank you for this, i feel i can get to know clip studio through your work
This is very helpful. I've been using scanned ink line drawings and Photoshop 6 to do digital coloring in one layer and saving art on JPEG. Now I have chromebook flip top where I can use a pen to draw on screen and subsribed to Clip Studio Paint to try. It really helped seeing how the layers work and what is the "magic lasso" and "paint bucket" method on CSP. I need to rewatch this tutorial more to get use to working in this. I still prefer working with real markers and pens but when I order art prints and products like stickers and buttons for cons I think digital art will look more polished . Thank you from Hawaii!
The character you drew reminds me of Deemo from the rhythm game "Deemo". I had a friend who really liked it and I immediately could recognize the similarity. Great video on CSP and ciao.
Hi there. I just downloaded clip paint yesterday. It's very confusing not knowing anything. I've been watching videos on RUclips, and what people are trying to get across is very fast and hard to keep up with. I've just watched this and the way you narrated is so different to the others. I've saved the video because I think I was able to understand this so much more easily. Great work on your part. I've subbed to your channel just now so I've not seen your other videos. I'm hoping that I can learn a lot from your content. 😊
Awesome video! This really showed how to use clip studio paint right. But one thing, I would have liked to see the layers whole time you were drawing. I mean the drawing tablet camera was tiny bit of in the way but thats ok! Also could you make a video about animating on clip studio paint?
Im old girl looking for refreshers got it all and don't use half of it to it best. I started years ago with PSP and Gimp ( by the way Gimp still free) so I am looking at you younger ones for ideas to get me back to using all this hardware and software. what I see you know what your talking about so thanks you have given me some ideas.
Other youtubers: Conjurers advanced tools I don't know about in Clip Studio. NobleFrugal Studio: Thumbnails, Rough Sketch, Ink outline in thicker size, draw inside with thinner size pen, and draw details with tiny sized pen. Me: Thank god this tutorial actually is beginner friendly.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial... i forgot all, i stopped drawing after my mom died 1 year ago and now i restart slowly but as i said, i forgot everting. i wanna learn to draw manga, i love them a lot. Is the Huion Camvas 13 pro a good choice for beginning?
i'm curious how you have your buttons on your pen configured, having a hard time figuring out the best way to map those and the bottons on the side of my tablet.
What are your workstation or view settings here? I've seen a lot of webtoon artists using settings that allow them to see previews of what they're doing-or like you have additional drop downs on the righthand side that lets you add new layers, etc...I'm having a hard time getting a user-friendly/intuitive setup for the tools and it's getting frustrating.
when making animation how do i color under the drawing layer does it work as you showed in the video because i tried it but it didn't work. I even tried to turn on onion skin but ended up coloring in the wrong layer that i draged down between sketch and drawing layer so how do i color when i am making animation? Could u make a video or answer me in the comment below.
Is there any trick to the lineart, mine always looks so scuffed, when filling it gets thinner and thinner and because of pressure some zoned look more polished than other, was thinking that maybe i should lineart on a vector layer with a fixed pressure and then reduce or augment the lineart as i see.
There should be some other sources on line art tips. For example, I know BaM Animation made a video on that. Of course, these things don't get learned overnight, so just try to stick with it. Hope that helps!
I just switched from Krita to CSP. I loved Krita, but it just crashed too often. CSP is reasonably intuitive, and I'm very happy I made the move. I keep Krita around (it's free), but I suspect that before long I will basically never use it any more.
Another thing you can do to check values is: make a layer above all your layers, fill it with white and then set the blending mode to "color" and it will give you a grayscale picture. This way you can turn it of and on when you want to check.
What! I never knew this, this is kinda awesome :)

The best and easiest beginner video. I like the soothing music, your recording style, your voice and the way you show everything. THANK YOU!

Thank you. You taught me coloring, sharing and highlight all in one video. Very easy to understand. I hope to learn more from you!
best beginner friendly video in CSP I have seen so far; I appreciate it a BUNCH!!

The character you drew reminds me of Deemo from the rhythm game "Deemo". I had a friend who really liked it and I immediately could recognize the similarity. Great video on CSP and ciao.
Thank you. This helped a lot with the result. (Now i understand the importance of lighting)

Thank you, this was very helpful. I'm just trying to include digital art with my traditional art forms, pencil ink etc.
Thanks for making these videos easy to understand it helped me a lot brotha thanks again.

Clip Studio Paint is great for static images, and EX is specifically for comics, but for animation, I can't imagine that you can beat Blender.
Great break down over the digital drawing process :)
When I use the pincel in my laptob
Insted of drawing it moves the slide that I'm working on...
How can I fix that ❓️
Great video, very informative; thank you!
How do you know what color to pick on the multiply layer when making shadows?

My new favorite
I have a sketch pad and I’ve decided to only get a drawing tablet when I confident enough in my drawing skills.
