If you click C you can make your brush transparent, I use this instead of a rubber tool because transparent brushes are good for raster, then I can use the rubber (alr on vector) to remove vector lines
I just moved to Clip Studio from a different program yesterday and I'm SO glad I came across this video - it would've taken me years to know about all of these tools and settings
Very informative, although you didn't mention that some of these features like the LT convert, and advanced comic tools like having multiple pages in one comic document, are only available on the EX version of clip studio paint.
Clip Studio is such a great tool. It is insanely customizable and has so many features, with new ones steadily being added and despite all of that it is affordable. You didn't mention the quick access palette I think, which in essence you can convert to a small control panel for everything you want to do with the program. Especially with autoactions which are magic by themselves (I use them for example to toggle the visibility of reference layers by shortcut or create perspective rulers)
Don't be afraid to make very simple auto actions! I have a ton setup for simple things like setting up shading and highlight layers or just applying a few simple effects! They are very handy to make things a lot quicker. Even though most of them would only take a few seconds or a minute at most having them be 1 click and no other input is very handy!!!
love watching these tips videos of programs i use regularly and be like "wow! that's so useful im definitely going to use that!" and then completely forget everything when im done watching the video
I don't think anyone mentioned it on the comments or at least I didn't see it on the time I scrolled down but, while using the mesh transform tool, you can increase/decrease the number of points you can play with under the settings of the tool after you've gone into mesh transform mode. This was so useful to know back in the day when CSP didn't have liquify yet :)
I think one of the best tools is the "enclose and fill" using "only white or transparent". You can paint anything you want very quickly with minimal errors
If you guys missing some features in the program, shown in this video, you most liekly have an outdated version of CSP. So just download the newest version. 3:57 --- Oh trust me, it DOES AFFECT IT, the longer u draw the longer the "video" will be thus making the file size hiting Gigabytes sizes. Oh and it does affect how much time u take to save the file too.
I think the only thing i have to add is that as well as being able to colour pick from the current layer, there are many other settings available for the colour picker tool that let you: - Exclude layers if they match certain critera. The options are exclude draft layers, exclude text layers, exclude the paper layer, and exclude locked layers. The latter is especially helpful-if you don't want to colour pick from your effects layers, you can lock them all and they'll no longer be considered by the colour picker, allowing you to pick the true colour underneath. - Adjust its point of reference. The default is picking from the entire image, the tool preset you showed is picking from the current layer, but there is another third option to pick from only the top-most layer. - There's also an average colour option, which allows you to increase the radius of the colour picker and pick an average colour from everything within that radius. Helpful if youre colour picking from a reference that has a lot of texture applied or jpeg artifacts.
knew only a few as I have been using Clip for about half a year now, but for me one of the best things is amazing selection tool, outline selection (found under edit, saved me so much time while making some designs), lock transparent pixels, also using reference layer + clip to layer below, but yours are definitely adding to my library of tricks.
theres a lot of great stuff with clipping layers and masks if u dig around like ctrl+clicking a layer thumbnail it perfectly creates a selection including opacity
I just recently got a drawing tablet and started using clip studio with it. This is my first time really getting serious with digital art so there’s a lot I don’t know (I actually used clip studio when I made my pfp, and it definitely would’ve been easier with some of these tips lol). This video really helps, and I appreciate that you separated all of the tips into separate chapters so they’re easier to go back and check in the future
oh my god, i been using clip studio around 1 and half years and i didnt know most of this tricks, you are truly a heroe, i just make some of it on my recent drawings and it make my life more easy and also improve my art!! tysm really
Ever since I used 3D models more often as of recent, it will be MUCH easier to get the poses I'm looking for after learning about the Pose Scanner, though it's not fully accurate at times. Thanks so much for this 🌸
oh my god, tahnks so much. I'm a traditional artist and recently have been trying to implement digital in my artworks but it always felt so slow or confusing. this will help so much
Idk why I haven't tried CSP before, it's just AMAZING! So many options, and for me, it's the best drawing/animating program that I've evert used! so awesome
as someone who just started using CSP, this helps out a lot. I'll prolly won't remember how to specifically use most of this, but at least I know the option is there.
I've just got CSP. (at time of writing) so knowing about these whilst I'm figuring stuff out really helps. Thanks for the vid. Also I watched the bit that no-one watches.
You can also make tools pop up for faster access, I have my color sets and color wheel set to pop up next to my cursor when I press a button on my drawing tablet. Super handy!
regarding the asset store, clip studio will sometimes have events where you can get free points for logging in and redeeming a daily reward! these will allow you to buy paid things in the store without spending money :D however, the points will be invalidated some time after you collect them, so keep that in mind!
I bought a Huion tablet about a month ago and snagged a one time purchase license for CSP in the spring sale, and a lot of this is going to be hella useful to me. Thanks! :D
thank you so so much! i love how straightforward this video is. no unnecessary talking. definitely subsribed. i'm sure i'll learn a lot from this channel 🌻
THE OUTLINE, omg I've been using for a good while and couldn't figure out how people get lovely outlines for their illustrations. Kicking myself it was so simple but hidden
I thought I would already know most of these tips, but I actually learned a lot! You highlighted a ton of useful stuff and got straight to the point about each feature. Great video!
I use Photoshop for work (I'm a graphic designer) and Clip Studio for drawing. Clip is more specialized for drawing, there are a TON of features in Clip but unlike Photoshop, (which also has a TON of features) those features are geared towards drawing. So you'll end up actually using more of them. Plus I like the way the brushes in CSP work better than in PS. I think the programs are similar enough you won't have much trouble making the switch, but I think Clip has enough to offer to justify paying for and learning a new program.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been using CSP for almost a year now, doing most of these things manually and maybe only knowing 4 of these tips
im using clip studio since they cost almost the same like sai that i always use but clip its way more complete and faster than 4 years ago great content!
I definitely learned some more tricks! I knew a lot of them already but some left me intrigued and I'll make sure to implement them in my workflow! Thanks a lot!
thank you so much! for all this information, im a newbie in this program and as far as i used clip studio i figured out that is an amazing program for arttist, now that i now all those trick it will be my work a lot more entretainig so again thank you so much
Regarding the alt color picking (#11) - you can also pick color by pressing right mouse button which is faster and easier for me since on my pen I have middle and right mouse buttons mapped to the two pen buttons it has (with pen touch being left mouse button, obviously).
2 things 1. VERY helpful video with a lot of useful things I will do/ look for in CSP cuz they will def help with workflow a lot especially using windows within the program for reference thats gonna help me a lot 2. It became glaringly apparent at one point that you had lupin the 3rd music goin at one point and that made me unnaturally happy when I realized :3
Hey seriously thank you for the timestamps, quick and easy explanations, and for overall making this video I've been using csp for like, 5 years now and STILL didn't know about a lot of this (especially the pose scanner!!) this will save me so much time :'D
Part 2 out now! ruclips.net/video/g6JttkY05zY/видео.html
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE!
…. There’s more of these?!?!? thank you!!
I've using clip for almost 2 years and i'm surprised that i barely know half of them, very underrated video man thank you
very true...😊😊😊
hey we have profile pics from the same anime lol
@@carameldacat lol
If you click C you can make your brush transparent, I use this instead of a rubber tool because transparent brushes are good for raster, then I can use the rubber (alr on vector) to remove vector lines
Woah!!!
i have the shortcut set to 2 and the background/foreground color shortcut set to 1, it's a real time saver :D
God I wish I knew as much as most people lol. I am taking forever on simple drawings because I don't know a qrt of this stuff.
thanks so freaking much this is awesome! this is going to be one of those things thats going to be hard to not use anymore. 🙏
This is so handy, I use it all the time!
The best tip I've ever gotten was that Brightness to opacity can also be used when scanning line-art to be used digitally :)
0:50 Add 3D models
1:00 LT conversion of layer
1:30 Outline
5:04 Vector layers
6:06 Sub view
7:54 Perlin noise
8:27 Gradient map
12:23 Brightness to opacity

thanks for that.... wouldve saved myself time trying to find these things if i knew i didnt even have them...
going to layers quickly: 2:24, timelapses: 3:49, scrolling through and previewing layer modes/functions: 4:40, multi-layer erasure: 5:47, subviewing for reference images: 6:08, perspective grids: 6:27, obtaining color from other windows that aren't clipstudio: 7:30, tonal correction: 7:44, gradient map layers: 8:35, comic panels: 10:00, organizing brushes: 10:54, organizing workspace: 12:48,

OMG THIS IS SO USEFUL THANK YOU SO MUCH I WILL SEND THIS VIDEO FOR EVERY ARTIST THAT I KNOW MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR THE REST YOUR LIFE

That lasso fill tool got me SHOOK. This is gonna save me so much time on filling base colours, Thank you!
It’s my favorite tool to use! I was so happy when he mentioned it 😆
If you guys missing some features in the program, shown in this video, you most liekly have an outdated version of CSP.

3:57 --- Oh trust me, it DOES AFFECT IT, the longer u draw the longer the "video" will be thus making the file size hiting Gigabytes sizes. Oh and it does affect how much time u take to save the file too.
lmao i had a timelapse lasting 30 minutes and my laptop fan was working overtime and more while it exported
One of the absolute best tutorials with Clip Studio. Having the book mark and description was very helpful!
I already know that I'll be coming back to this video for months or even years.

Number 19 is life changing. I'm always spending so long experimenting with different blend modes
how u can do that? i dont undertand
I notice you are using EX version. Some of what you said is not available on PRO. BUT non the less, this was a VERY helpful video. Thnx.
I had no idea clip studio could record a speedpaint.
Yo, super underrated video. Every user of Clip Studio Paint should see this.
theres a lot of great stuff with clipping layers and masks if u dig around like ctrl+clicking a layer thumbnail it perfectly creates a selection including opacity

44 is a new one for me, and now I can toggle a setting immediately instead of going to the settings tab, thanks a billion!!!
oh my god, i been using clip studio around 1 and half years and i didnt know most of this tricks, you are truly a heroe, i just make some of it on my recent drawings and it make my life more easy and also improve my art!! tysm really

Thanks so much for this 🌸
This program continues to surprise me, really appreciate you making a concise list of these features!
oh my god, where were you when i was doing my senior project!!!!😭😭😭 thank you!! thank you so much, these are all brilliant
I have always thought something was missing from my drawings. And a lot of these really helped my art feel more alive. Thank you very much. 🙂
I usually avoid videos like this but holy shit this helps so much I love this
Worth it just for the pose scanner feature alone! But all of these are amazing and so useful, thank you!
oh my god, tahnks so much. I'm a traditional artist and recently have been trying to implement digital in my artworks but it always felt so slow or confusing. this will help so much
YOU LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE, THANK YOU
Holy cow I didn't know half of these existed! Thank you so much!
I had absolutely NO IDEA that was possible to change the blend modes without clicking in each one of them every f* time to see how they work. Thanks!
I've been using Csp for 5 years now, but even I learned a few new life-changing tips!
Damn these tips are a game changer thank you for highlighting some of these automatic gems
Damn it! I wish you made this 5 years ago, so many tools I totally missed or forgotten, thank you so much.
Idk why I haven't tried CSP before, it's just AMAZING! So many options, and for me, it's the best drawing/animating program that I've evert used! so awesome
I’ve been using CSP for almost 7 years now, and I’m surprised that I knew most of these! Lots of great tips that I will be putting to use :)
sub view was such a big help, i always open photos in another illustration window or layer thank you
as someone who just started using CSP, this helps out a lot. I'll prolly won't remember how to specifically use most of this, but at least I know the option is there.
Number 6 is just what I needed
I've just got CSP. (at time of writing) so knowing about these whilst I'm figuring stuff out really helps. Thanks for the vid.
Also I watched the bit that no-one watches.
I'm barely 6 minutes in and my jaw is on the floor.
You can also make tools pop up for faster access, I have my color sets and color wheel set to pop up next to my cursor when I press a button on my drawing tablet. Super handy!
this video just changed my life
I'm switching over from Photoshop to CSP and I found these tips & tricks very handy. Thanks! I'll share the video around.
I know this is off topic but your voice is so soothing 🥺 I'm new to CSP so this video is really helpful! Thank you!
4:42 I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS ONE THANK YOU!!
regarding the asset store, clip studio will sometimes have events where you can get free points for logging in and redeeming a daily reward! these will allow you to buy paid things in the store without spending money :D however, the points will be invalidated some time after you collect them, so keep that in mind!
Getting back into ClipStudio, this vid is gonna come in handy.
I bought a Huion tablet about a month ago and snagged a one time purchase license for CSP in the spring sale, and a lot of this is going to be hella useful to me. Thanks! :D
Thank you so much for this very useful video and thank you to everyone who added more tips & tricks in the comments!!!!!🥰🥰
omg thank you! Clip Studio has always been so overwhelming for me. This is so useful!
The pose scaner just make my jaw drop 🙉🙉
As soon as you mentioned the first one I was immediately like 😲
This was great info! This is definitely going to make illustrating and animating much more efficient for me!
pose scanner is going to change my life
Very cool. Thanks. The reference window is exactly what I was looking for.
You can use TAB to hide/show workspace, and get more space to draw. Very usefull. By the way, GREAT video !
thank you so so much! i love how straightforward this video is. no unnecessary talking. definitely subsribed. i'm sure i'll learn a lot from this channel 🌻

20 is my favorite, thanks so much
Hey thanks mate, been wanting to switch to clip studio but I've been using photoshop for like 10 years :C
btw you should set up a discord server for art
Oh yeah, that's something I had been considering months ago and never got around to. I'll probably see if I can sort that out some time soon :D
@@JPArt awesome!
I've never used Photoshop (too expensive) but apparently the learning curve is pretty simple? (Also, there's liquify now.)
I use Photoshop for work (I'm a graphic designer) and Clip Studio for drawing. The best tips online i have seen by far, you fkn rock dude!
omg this is so useful i didnt know a third of all those info, TYSM I LOVE YOU
So informative and straight to the point. Thank you!

Been using Clip since 2015 and I barely knew any of this LOL, this video rocks!
Lovely video, really helpful if you're starting or even if you're a bit more advanced but still can find one or two new things you didn't know!
holy crap this is underrated
I definitely learned some more tricks! I knew a lot of them already but some left me intrigued and I'll make sure to implement them in my workflow! Thanks a lot!
I just got CSP a few days ago, this was so amazingly helpful, thank you!

pose scanner blown my mind
Great overview of what you can do with Clip Studio Paint. Really enjoyed the commentary.
I just bought the software like yesterday so this is PERFECT timing!
#48 is what i actually looking for, thx dude
The 3d models can have the perspective rulers edited to effect how they look ie: stuff like really intense perspective or much more subtle perspective
Wow, wow, wow, you are astonishing_ Thank you for all these tips. How wonderful you are. Marie xx
I wanna do videos like this but you’ve covered everything.
Considering I want to be with comic artist in the future seems like I made the right call buying CSP EX for life years ago
thanks good sir
these will help me a lot for a beginner like me
I'm WILL be using this video everytime now XD
Regarding the alt color picking (#11) - you can also pick color by pressing right mouse button which is faster and easier for me since on my pen I have middle and right mouse buttons mapped to the two pen buttons it has (with pen touch being left mouse button, obviously).
#2 - add things to top bar...OK but then how to REMOVE things from top bar please? Very useful video, thanks!
2 things
1. VERY helpful video with a lot of useful things I will do/ look for in CSP cuz they will def help with workflow a lot

Me exclaiming “what!?” every other tip. Thanks so much lol!! This is gonna change my quality of life in CSP!
Super helpful! I will definitely be trying some of these out. Lasso fill has been my absolute best tool 😆 I was excited when you mentioned it
