was looking for this comment. First time coming to the channel, and ofc the art is impressive, but da*** I am VERY impressed with the ad song!!! More entertaining than. A LO of the majority of ad sponsors that artists use and make on RUclips!!
You wanna know the funniest thing? It’s my fifth year in an art school, where animation is one of the subjects, where I’m currently in the animation masters program, and no one has explained timing and spacing better to me than you did just now. I’ve been flailing about this whole time any time it came to animation, trying to just eyeball it because every time I asked for it to be explained it never got anywhere or I just didn’t understand it. And today I finally learned the difference between Timing and Spacing… thank you lots dude
It took most of my time in education to realise that most teachers/professors don't know the answer to your questions, and instead of just saying so; they lead you down a verbal maze that makes you give up on asking in future.
yea schools often just hire students they tought since its way cheaper then hiring industry proffesionals so there is a high posibility that your techer is not that great of an animator
That clip studio paint ad actually kept me watching normally i skip it but you made me enjoy an ad and at the same time inform me you are an actual genius
You unlocked the knowledge in my brain of how to actually use the timing/spacing chart along with my Keys and Extremes. That's, like, THE QUESTION I've had for so long. "How do animators KNOW how to use that chart?" And now it's answered. Thank you so much. Subscribed.
I still remember watching my first opentoonz tutorial on this channel, yeeears ago. If I'm honest, I gave up after a while because at the time the program had some aspects that were unnecessarily complicated but to be expected of a free software, to be fair. One of my major problems was exactly this though, spacing and timing. I could never fully figure it out by myself, even when I listened to animators explain those little time charts on the side of the paper, I felt I couldn't transfer it into my own work process, somehow. But this video is awesome! It's so well put together and flows nicely with great visual aids. Great work.
you're channel is easily one of the best animation resources I've seen on RUclips. I've been animating for over 15 years and you explain processes better that 90% of people out there.
Finally!!! I've looked up so many tutorials on timing charts and they all was confusing but this one is very understandable. Thank you so much for the important information and making it accessible to everyone 🙏
Gotta say this video is great for anyone who struggles with animating frames. I have been animating for 3 years (self taught) now and never got around the techniques to make my animations look smooth, I always animated on 1s but that made my work hard to do and took forever, following this video I got to learn more of how I can make my animations look good mixing the DPS to maximize the quality of the animation. Really glad I found this video, keep up the great work man!!
I've watched a gazillion youtube videos about the matter, listened to "pro" old school animators, but your single video defeated them all in just 1 minute. Fantastic exposure about "how to in-between". Respect.
this is the first animation video i’ve found that actually explained timing charts, thank you so much!!! you explained everything so clearly, this is the most helpful vid i’ve watched yet!!!!
These tutorials about timing and spacing really helped me get an understanding about motion. I got a huge improvement eversince I tried applying it to my own work. Thank you so much!!!!!
i personally dont like clip studio but i think this is the coolest ad ive seen. Also this video is so good, i knew this but i never knew how to explain it, so this video is nice way to introduce people on animation
two years in animation college and i just realized my lecturer never gave me this lesson at 2d animation, all he talked was about the whole principles and never had any specifications or tips for what's really important between those principles for a freshman, which ended up making me more confused and insecure because of how stiff my animations looked like, thank you so much for this!! plus i love the ad omg
Your explanation was so well done. You are the first one to talk abt halves and thirds in a spacing video I found here on ytb. Not to mention your explanation was very easy to understand. It didn't feel like a lot of information down my throat but in a very good pacing. Good job
wow this is actually really helpful - i've never really seen an in-depth video like this about this topic! also the ad was impeccable, why was i actually vibing👌
Really great explanation! I've been struggling with timing in my personal animations since graduating college this year. With no professors to critique me anymore, I was having a hard time slowing down a walk cycle. This definitely helps and even reminded me of a few tips my freshman year professor gave when we covered the principles lol
I once obsessively studied music and rapping was my life for a long period, I'm extremely impressed with your ability to rap an advertisement and amaze me with your artistic skill at the same time.
I just saw your video and as a Absolute Beginner learning the basics of Animation of Clip Studio Pro, I wanna say thank you my man for giving us the guidance we need to improve and start our animation journey properly as Self Taught Animators! BTW Love your intros Gives me 'SF 3rd Strike' kind of Vibez! ^_^
Camera movement is a very overlooked aspect of animation. It can often breathe more life into even the most well animated scenes but unfortunately alot of tutorials either overlook or barely touch on it. I just came across your channel and im very impressed with how well put this guide is.❤ I just hope i came find a decent video on camera movement in your catalog because i feel like you would do an excellent job at breaking things down in that department.
yo this is the most useful video i have seen, i just started animation a day or 2 ago, and i have been trying SO hard to find and learned the things you talked about in this video, i had a huge brain blast when you talked about dividing the frames by each other to get a good slow-fast-slow animation, my brain went "THATS SO SMART", honestly props to you man, great content and will deff keep watching your videos 👍
I came here for animation and man, I gotta say that rap intro was incredible. Most definitely a Nujabes feel, and you're incredibly skilled and talented. Thank you for that and the video 🙏
you have no idea how much i love you for this. you are a life saver. been looking around for a good RUclips video explaining this for days and I’ve finally got my answer. Subscribed!
I have a square I want to move from A to B constantly speeding up and I want the animation to take 24 frames with 24 drawings. I tried using onion skin cutting the way in halves getting close to starting position and It looked good, but was way to fast. It took 9 frames instead of 24. I simply couldn't fit more. In order to slow down the acceleration i added in beetwens increasing frame count to 17 and further to 24 but when i played it it looked like the speed is rising gradually. Few times step by step. I examined it and here's the result: distance from A (sample): 10px, 40px, 80px, 160px, 320px, 640px here the speed is rising constantly. The diffrences are 30px, 40px, 80px, 160px, 320px. distance from A (sample): 10px, 20px, 40px, 60px, 80px, 120px, 160px, 240px, 320px, 480px, 640px But after adding in-beetwens The speed rise gradually. That way using onion skin i can make sure that the square is constantly speeding up and that it last 24 frames, but I don't know where will it end up in the end so that's not the way In that scenario how can i control how fast the object is speeding up? Or mabye I am unnecessarily worrying about it to take exacly 24 frames?
Hey man, I love your channel. I'm a game composer and sound designer with little to no knowledge on animation terms, and this breakdown was FLAWLESS!!! I'm hiring animators for my game and want to know the language and you are an incredible teacher. 🙏 Thank you sincerely! P.S. I also love your hiphop ads. Slaps! LOL! Much love Sebastian!

I'm barely 1,5 minute in and I just gotta compliment you on the originality and quality of that ad! Great job!!!
Do y mind helping me witch my project??
Stgg ads are usually corny, his got me dancing in traffic😂
was looking for this comment. First time coming to the channel, and ofc the art is impressive, but da*** I am VERY impressed with the ad song!!! More entertaining than. A LO of the majority of ad sponsors that artists use and make on RUclips!!
Another RUclipsr that makes theirs ads into songs is MistaGG. Check him out @MistaGG
The most effort and quality in an ad I've ever seen. I'd watch more ads if they were all this creative.

Thats amazing to hear. Its crazy how much great educational content can be found on RUclips.
Unfortunately that’s a common story. Glad you aren’t taking instructors as the gospel and researching!

Tbh that's kinda how it goes. RUclips has been one of the best sources for animation knowledge.

SO TRUEEE, this was the first time i felt so suprised and less annoyed in seeing an AD or a sponsor!

0:34 Finally an ad i can enjoy. You have so much flow bro!
I must compliment you, man, on the originality of that ad - felt like old-school rapping all over.
You just sold me clipstudio paint with a rap.
If only every ad was like this I would watch every one and buy every product. Seriously dude: That intro ad was amazing
