Honestly when it comes to art the ends justify the means. Use whatever methods, techniques, and shortcuts you can that makes the process easier for you, it's not wrong or cheating at all, and you're not lazy for that either. It's just making your own life easier and lifting some weigh off your shoulders. Absolutely nothing wrong with any of this unless you straight up steal art or trace (tracing is totally fine and encouraged for learning and studying, but don't publish traced pieces or claim them as your own). NEVER listen to the puritans with outdated mindsets that say you should reinvent the wheel and do everything from scratch. ALWAYS use references and take inspiration from other artists you admire, and by all means make use of all and any digital tools at your disposition. They exist only to help you.

Not sure if I understand your question, but if I do, all you have to do is go to the tool properties for the flat brush and decrease the texture density, this will make your strokes more visible if that’s what you were going for. Hope that helps! ❤😊
