People don't realize how talented Richard is. He is VASTLY underrated.
Coltsin14 his drum playing really complamented chucks playing.
Coltsin14 underrated by Howard fans, but he's top 10 metal drummers and has the best footpedal in drumming
Idk about best footwork BUT 100% best symbol work
Incredible drummer hilarious dude and a heart bigger than his body truly an inspiration
I would love to see him play the entire album _The Sound Of Perseverance_!
Fuck yeah. Me too!
And he probably would if he had the time or someone asked him
YES PLEASE
Me too 😍
Ooooh yeah!!! me too!!!
His work on the Sound of Perseverance is legendary
Every time I hear his voice, I can't help but hear "HI, THIS IS ETHEL... I GOT A BAROMETER FOR SALE!"
I have my grandson Rusty here with me and he just started playing....
he's a heavy boy....
It measures crop yield
We've got Ghosts...We've got Goblins...We've got Werewolves...and Mexicans :)
He's my faaavorite drummer.
+Josh G he's gooooooood.
He's taaalented!
Richard rules, his drumming on The Sound of Perseverance and The Fragile Art of Existence is legendary. Also that stick break is dealt with so smoothly it's difficult to notice.
Right! He doesn't miss a beat in all that ^^
Nice to see Richard plays Aquarian drum heads! I grew up across the street from the great jazz drummer and founder of Aquarian, Roy Burns! Love it!!!
This guy is such a machine drumming on The Sound of Perseverance! He should do something like that again!
Richard, it's your Father. Your mother and I are real proud of your drumming. By the way I shot a woodchuck in the garden this afternoon, pretty good eating. We will talk to you later.
Dear gawd, Howard has no idea who he has in the studio. I've lived with a ton of incredibly talented drummers and jammed with even more, but you, sir, take the cake. You've got chops that deserve worldly praise. I have huge amounts of respect for Stern but I cannot respect him to the full until he somewhat understands metal. Richard, I would love to say you're skilled beyond any IDOL bullshit show can be constructed, And I'd be right lol, BUT, these shows couldn't possibly have a decent cast of musicians. Networks won't allow that. All I know is that Metal fuckin rules and LONG LIVE RICHARD CHRISTY
And now he spends his days doing dick jokes and making prank calls, though he is certainly as much a master of those things too. Lol
Richard is my faaaaaaaaaaavorite drummer
The stuff Christy did with Death is really interesting.
And control denied too
ScumOfCaligula Burning inside is the best band he ever made albums with. Death fucking owns but he was just a drummer for hire at that point imo
Which drummer of death wasn't on hire then ?
Gene Hoglan, I believe! Symbolic was SUPPOSED to be Death's last album. Chuck repurposed some Control Denied material and new stuff to make Perseverance (If you weren't already aware.) So yes, perhaps a hired gun for Individual, but I believe Gene was intended to be the last "Death" drummer and Richard was intended for whatever Perseverance was supposed to be in the first place!
Before "the sound of perseverance" there were a control denied demod called "a moment of clarity"... just like the song
my graaandson loves this type of music
my graaaaandson just learned how to pull his pecker
Free Speech 101 God bless your grandson, and god bless drums, and god bless chairs...
***** LOL. It measures temperature, precipitation, measures wind index, measures barometric pressure, volcanic seismology, for your car measures tire pressure, oil, measures fuel level, measures...measures....measures....
Free Speech 101 uh, hello? Sorry, thought we got disconnected. God bless Alexander Graham Bell, and god bless microphones, and god bless god.....
Do you have roast herb pork chops? Goooood. Do you have squash? Goooood. Do you have meatloaf? Goooood.
His snare sound is always killer. Great Drummer.
The sound of perseverance...Epic!!
Insanely good drummer, playing well within his abilities in this clip. Right up there with the likes of Sandoval/Roddy/Laureano/Hoglan in my opinion.
DEATH The Sound of Perseverance album has some of my favorite drums on it, Richard is a beast.
Best drummer ever, no other drummer is even in Richards league.
richard christy, inspiring fat ass drummers like me for nearly 30 years. thank you for your good work man.
His drumming and prank calls rule the night.
Well, when Richard is clawing at the charred walls of the Damned I'm thoroughly enjoying everything he does... A true inspiration, and great comedian in his own right, I am a huge Fan!!! His Song parodies are virtuoso pieces of Genius inspired by the great artists before him. He truly "Gets" the show and compliments Sal's stupidity so well... There is a time and place for everything, and Richard has a permanent place in Stern History. Thankfully.
drumming juggernaut I love you Richard.
Unfreaking believable drummer!! Absolutely insane! Just heard that he was a drummer TODAY on Stern. This guy should be a fucking superstar! I'm an old guy, entertainer my whole life, all I've ever done, even drummed a bit, but no where NEAR THIS level!! Incredible, Richard...
Jesus Christ!! I had to hit edit to reply even more!! The coordination and skill level it takes to do this is beyond rare... VERY FEW IN THE WORLD can or ever have been able to drum like this.
It's hysterical, because I'm SO not into this type of music... I'm 65, for God's sake... but I can spot an amazing ONE IN A BILLION talent in a heartbeat!
It's a different side of Richard than the Stern show. Cool to see.
Great song, great guy, I saw CWOTD in Pittsburgh and Richard couldn't have been nicer. I hope they come back and I hope he keeps playing as long as he can because he's a great drummer.
This is fucking awesome metal !!! Thank you Richard !
Been listening to him since he joined Howard. First time hearing his Drumming, enjoyed it!!!
Hi Richard. This is your dad...
Hey bub
Jeff Harding Talk to yah later bub, Rusty and Ethel miss you 😂😂
riichard... theres been a raccoon runnin around the faaarm
You was my hero when i was young and started play drums
I've been a big fan of metal all my life and a huge howard stern fan but I never guessed he was that good of a drummer.
Look up some of the albums he's played on
You've obviously never heard his work with Death & Iced Earth lol
DEATH🤘
This is my faaaaaavoritr
Richard was on one of my favorite albums by one of the most underrated bands ever - The Horror Show by Iced Earth. The song Wolf is fucking INSANE and still holds up as one of the best drum tracks, even 20 years later
Pretty sure that everyone loves Richard. Heeeeyyyyyy.
One of your best songs!!! By far!
Stellar and super underrated drummer
what an amazing drummer. it's like most metal songs today, the songs are shit but are being played by incredibly talented musicians! talk to ya later bub.
why are the?
How incredible!!! so inspiring too, you fucking rule christi!
Luv Richard
truly one of the best ever. never seizes to amaze.
Damn been watching alot of old stern had no ckue richard was this sick. That lil break down he was demonstrated when played in the actyal song was bad ass. The second song was noiccce.
FUCKING KILLING IT RICHARD.
Fun to see Richard doing something else, but i still love Tradio prank calls!! Rock on Richard!
This is my favvvvvvorite drum beat. 🤘🏻
who would like to doubt this drummer should listen to the song The flesh and the power it holds
Sir Richard Christy, what ever they say.. i (as a Black Metal Drummer) assume you sir my idol since 1995
This video is my Faaaaaavorite!

I would donate a kidney to see Christy playing those Death - tsop parts!!! One of my favourite drumtracks and album of all time.

He’s fucking shredded in this
Awesome!
Richard is a boss
love the lyrics.
very good, awesome.
machine!
i use to know him personally he is from Springfield Missouri his band here was public assassin
Holy shit! Fucking fantastic!
holy shit lol richard christy was in death and iced earth
sei sempre un mostro Richard! :) ..sei la mia vetta d'arrivo per me al fine dei miei studi alla batteria :)
The guitarist in Charred Walls of the Damned is Jason Suecof.
Richard on deaths music was 🔥
THE DEATH DRUMMER!!! i never knew he was in iced earth so that means he did some demons and wizards maybe? that would be fucking awesome!!!
I miss chubby Richard. He was my faaaaaaaaavotite!
heeeeyyy iiits richaard chriiiiiiiisssstttttyyyyyyy
He is the coolest guy on the stern show….
this song is about my passion for haunted houses and eating roadkill
Death members never wanted him to know they knew he was the core of the band. Amazing!!!
A band always consists of all its parts and if they fit, the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts. Death always managed to have that from Human onwards. But without Chuck, dear, there would have been no band called Death ;)
Holy Crap!
Holy shit the bassist is a legend too lol
Brian McAlpine That's Steve DiGiorgio, played for many bands. But notably; Sadus, Testament, Death/Control Denied. Usually plays a fretless bass.
Steve Degeorgio is the creator of fretless bass. DEATH🤘
2:57 Blood on Wood 7:57 The Darkest Eyes
Richard should be on That Metal Show!
He was. The episode with Peter Criss of KISS. In my opinion, he had one the best drum appearances ever, on that show.
good stuff
That fill at 3:55 is too fucking sick!!!
Richard that was Fuckin Awesome!!!
Richard is the real deal, way way excellent. great to see such a high level of talent (the whole band is bad ass). i wonder if he can play Meshuggah-type time signatures? i bet he could easily!
Well…he played in Death's The Sound Of Perseverance…so yeah that's easy for him to play Meshuggah
Fucking beast man those triplets on the second song ....its fucking rare to hear heavy drummers using dynamics on bass drums
oh heyyy
And lets not forget his stint with Iced Earth
Lost his left drumstick at 4:57
I know this is not Rich's channel so he might not see this, but in case he does, hey Rich you might want to pin a loop of the headset cord to the top back of your shirt, I find that that reduces the weight and pull of the headset backward. Makes it a little more comfortable for me.
Wow that is so hard to do, Hes My Favoooorittte :D
born and raised in the same small town of fort scott ks, richard grew up less than 10 miles away in redfield. danny carey from tool grew up in paola kansas, less than 45 minutes. guess kansas breeds the best drummers
Shannon Rains I am in Paola. Carey is big here. Didn't know Christy was from Fort Scott
LOL He's so arrogant... ""And Slowed Down its EXACTLY like this"" then doesnt miss a beat Xd Love Him and everything he's done!
The vocals remind me of a young Ronnie James Dio!
@@Easun36 I am well aware thanks!
Richard that beat is very punk rock
5:00 The mystery of the Flying Stick... :P
A broken stick doesn't even stop this beast
This guy could play in iced earth, and also have a job in radioshack.
2:58 Blood On Wood
7:57 The Darkest Eyes
Good music BTW - ☻
If you look at Richard over the past 20 years its amazing how many times he's been fat and skinny lol. Dude is underrated when it comes to talent on music level and comedy.
"pumpkin cheesecake pie... chocolate pumpkin pie... raspberry pumpkin pie... raisin pumpkin pie... spiced pumpkin pie... blueberry pumpkin pie........"
WHHAT? It's the same Richard from the Stern show that played in Death? I fucking thought it was a different guy holy shit! Richard it's your dayyd
Heaaaaaarrrhhhhh, hey richard it's you daaaaaaddddd. You fucking rule man, tradio and cwotd fucking rock. Hyeeeeeaaaahhh? Okay bub, bai x
Chuck vive en Richard😢
Go Rusty!
Good Kick--Good Snap..!! Who Knew...! :)
