Yeah, renders this list incomplete. You cannot name 10 fast drummers in Metal without mentioning Dominator. It's like naming 10 famous religions and tell nothing about Christianity (weird example in this case^^).
Is that documented anywhere? I can't seem to find anything to support that claim, but it may just be difficult to find these days since all the articles I've found point towards the current record holder being an 11 year-old kid, lol.
I don't like how fast drumming sounds. Doesn't groove. Doesn't move. Well it moves but too much to be heavy. If everything is heavy - nothing is heavy, you gotta have dynamics.
The thing that surprised me about that is he’s in a DEATHCORE band. Made me realize that infant annihilator actually had something more to them than their cringy music videos.
@Its Rizzli- Well yeah, but Infant Annihilator still has breakdowns much like this generation's deathcore bands. But thanks for pointing out that I forgot to add the technical before deathcore. Suddenly I feel like I just disrespected a highly underrated band by just saying they're deathcore as opposed to technical deathcore.
@Its Rizzli- I mean, I'm just saying that they're within that realm of metal. Death metal and deathcore are usually different, but I think it's rare for deathcore bands to add more technicality to their music. So, yeah. Infant Annihilator is one of those bands that takes tech death and fuses it with deathcore. So basically, Necrophagist meets Whitechapel. And I'm just a really big metal nerd, so I get really passionate about metal music. And you were close enough.
Pete's great, but you can't accurately call him the originator. Read "Precious Metal"... Trey had already heard extreme drumming and pressured Pete into accelerating his double bass to replicate it.
@metal matt Isn't all metal "real" metal as long as you enjoy you're craft? At least he's not a popstar, or some shitty mumble rapper. Maybe you should worry about so called "artists" instead of people who have different tastes in actual good genres.

I was about to ask where the bloody hell Dave Lombardo is, then I realised he isn’t ranked for his speed, he’s ranked for his talent. So fair enough!
Good call. In fact 2 of the fastest drummers not to blast beat are him and Charlie Benante. If you listen to Necrophobic by Slayer and Imitation of Life by Anthrax they're the same tempo using 4 in a bar hats/ride rather than alternate sticking which you can go faster with but is technically 'easier' - its still not bloody easy!
christschinwon Charlie Benante has done blast beats. ruclips.net/video/LdG580PzJ3g/видео.html
Dave Lombardo just hits hard. Not much dynamic in his drumming for being "talented". I guess that's just one of few people's opinions.
I was thinking the same about Mike Portnoy and Nick Menza.
christschinwon Chris Witchhunter and Ventor are faster drummers
Paul Bostaph: Dave Lombardo's Kryptonite.
1349 and Satyricon drummer Frost should have been on this list, but still pretty cool !
For reals i was waiting to see nils for sure.
Yeah. He is on the same level as Hellhammer.
I love how the Behemoth clip they used to showcase their drummer, didn't actually show their drummer at all.
Francesco is insane. I remember seeing them with Kataklysm and I didn't think I was going to like them as it isn't really my style but damn.... that energy they got going on in live gigs is insane. The drums really hit like a damn sledgehammer to the chest. It's amazing and one of the most impressive drummers I've seen live.

Forget Morbid Angel, that's Pete Sandoval of Terrorizer!
R Langer fucking true! Have you heard last Terrorizer album?
Lars should be here.
Is the fastest drummer when it comes to lose tempo.
I'm laughing at your joke right now, probably not at the part you intended to be funny though xD
Dude he's so fast he can't even keep up with himself.
But Ulrich play better Songs than those all Drummers together.

3:08 legendary
Mike mangini: Does gravity blasts
Loudvire: He is stubğidly fast
Thing is, he was also doing shit way faster than all the black metal and grindcore drummers on the list while doing crazy crossovers and combos. Listen to the intro of Pale Blue Dot by Dream Theater. He does that with one hand, and unlike Aaron Kitcher, he's actually playing it
@@sammyloehnis3373 what do you mean by that last part?
@@reneelisardo9502 I think Aaron Kitcher's a good drummer, and he's capable of playing complicated stuff. But I don't think he's able to play that kind of stuff at 300bpm, and if you look at the video, you can see that it doesn't really look real

Mike Mangini’s solo in this video is both one of the funniest and most impressive solos I’ve seen in a while.
Where's Nils Fjellstrom from Dark Funeral??
yep
That man is scary fast and agile. Fucking.. weird. And all of his hits are pronounced and with the same strenght, blast beats and fast tom fills.
He ain't called Dominator for sarcasm!
Hearing Cryptopsy for the first time in the early 2000's, I really thought I would never hear anything that fast and intense and skilled ever again. Blew my mind and melted my face.
Glad to see Francesco getting noticed! Amazing drummer, you could've shows some footage of The Violation aswell ;o
He is crazy good!
Mad respect to that orchestra that plays with them at 270 BPM tho
Yeah the Violation or thru our scars, they choose a piece of live where can't here him...
No Dominator from Dark Funeral
NFG PUNK my thoughts exactly.
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that!
Yeah, renders this list incomplete. You cannot name 10 fast drummers in Metal without mentioning Dominator. It's like naming 10 famous religions and tell nothing about Christianity (weird example in this case^^).
No proscriptor either
I think Frost from Satyricon should be on here. He did hold the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest drummer.
Is that documented anywhere? I can't seem to find anything to support that claim, but it may just be difficult to find these days since all the articles I've found point towards the current record holder being an 11 year-old kid, lol.

Gene Hoglan, his solos and his time in dethklok with songs like “laser Cannon deth sentence” and “The Gears” should count for something!
Hoglan's got a unique style and I love it but in terms of raw speed he's outmatched by everyone on this list.
Brouhahaski that guy its a monster and a have a very distinctive beat 👍🏻
Hoglan with Death was even better! Groundbreaking at the time.

Jyvlii The Gears is pretty fast if you ask me
Give me Thomas Haake any day..

@Its Rizzli- infant annihilator is definitely not technical death metal, theyre deathcore or technical deathcore.
@Its Rizzli- Infant Annihilator is very much a technical deathcore band.
Fleshgod Apocalypse are so underrated, glad to see them on this list.
no pete sandoval (the guy who literally invented extreme metal drumming), no derek roddy
No Moyses Kolesne either...
Pete's great, but you can't accurately call him the originator. Read "Precious Metal"... Trey had already heard extreme drumming and pressured Pete into accelerating his double bass to replicate it.
