Bonnie, thank you so much for this tutorial. I am 86 years old and I need to tell you that there is not a stress-buster pill in the world to compare to your voice and this new granny square crochet method. Both are so very calming. I have come back to this video so many times because I keep forgetting how to start the continuous granny square. Thank you for making it so easy to understand! I love your tutorials

Bonnie.. I love that you enjoy working with the self striping yarns. Several years ago, I returned to knitting and crocheting..after about 15 years of quilting. This is what I am going to use to make my first large blanket. I have been crocheting since Summer of last year. I have made a couple of lap throws, but I want to challenge myself with a full size blanket for our bed.
Sounds great! My first thought was also how easy this would be to scale up to a full throw or blanket. I mean, you just go on and on, right? (And adapting it so it's not a square would be quite straightforward as well.)
Bonnie thank you so much I’m a pretty seasoned crotcheter but the one pattern I have never been able to do is the Granny Square until today it just clicked. Like so many of your tutorials your experience and explaining is so clear. Thank you again.

Best pattern I've found for a continuous granny square. Thank you SO much. I've made 2 blankets so far, using nearly all of 3 Bernat Baby Blanket Stripes cakes. I add a border of 1 round of sc and 2 rounds of dc. They come out the size I like using almost 3 cakes After 2 skeins, they're only about 30x30 if crocheted with a K hook. I tried starting one with a J hook (faster, right), but the holes were too big, the blanket looked floppy, and my sister said it wasn't as nice as my previous work. Thanks again!
I just made this blanket my first baby blanket ever came out so beautiful thank you very much for this tutorial never did a granny square and a blanket came out perfect
I am going to use this pattern for my next baby blanket. I have done a large blanket this style so I am familiar with the pattern, but it's always good to get a refresher before starting a new project.
I have made 2 of these blankets so far. (Both babies are boys) I did not have the cakes but had such a stash of yarn so I used #4 worsted and just kept crocheting a huge granny Square and made up my own color scheme. I can tell you that the blocking and final rinse with a little fabric softner made them so soft. I love this pattern but I ant to here that someone is having a girl. LOL Thanks so much. Hi Bonnie, I have made several of these blankets and I love them. Now I am wanting to make more, but I am having the hardest time finding the Parfait Layer yarn. I think they discontinued?? Can you recommend a comparable yarn? Thanks and you are doing a great job. We appreciate it.
This is so helpful! My grandma taught me to knit as a little girl but it was always so time consuming. I started crocheting when a friend showed me in college and just picked it back up! I’m working on a baby blanket right now :)

Thanks Vicki! Great video! I wish I had found it a couple days ago because I started a baby blanket using the same yarn (so soft!!!). I didn’t know you could do a continuous Granny Square, so I’m glad to learn that technique. I also didn’t know how I was going to finish it off, so now I can go back and do the edge with the shell stitch. Thank you! 😁
Thanks for sharing this. I'm a mom-to-be (never had kids before and this pandemic has made it a struggle to not be panicky about it) and it's so relaxing to do something with my hands after a long day that can be for the little one. Seriously, so glad I found this. I'm loving how its working up with Caron Chunky Cake skeins. Quick, and so pretty too! But I crochet tightly, so I had to up my hook size past the 6.5 mm suggestion. I was looking at the math for that, but I'm still wondering if that's gonna change the yardage very much. It didn't seem like there was a very clear cut answer. 🤔
I have watched a lot of this kind of crochet tutorial videos but I have to say yours so far is the most satisfying. You could almost do a video of just you crocheting.😊
I am a beginner, and I’m so glad I found you, Bonnie! I am wondering how to change a yarn color, as I’m using solid yarns for this project. Thank you so much!
Here's a video that will show you how to change colors. It is an older video but I think still gets the idea across: ruclips.net/video/lvxStfO2X6w/видео.html

Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve been trying to make this type of blanket for years. I just couldn’t get the granny square, until I watched your video. Thanks to you, I can now make this beautiful project 😀.

I've made so many of these blankets. Love your channel x
Thank you Claire! I so appreciate your kind words!
Wow! Will be starting this! Haven’t attempted yet but as a beginner I am confident this will be easy to do. I’m thinking I might make it a bit larger for an adult!
Have decided to make this my 1st project in many years. Thank you.
Welcome to my channel! You are so blessed to have a grandma like this.
Thank you so much for this video. I am new to crochet and was struggling until I watched your video. I love this pattern. Thanks again.

So easy to follow I’m a very slow beginner it takes me a while to get things right ❤
That’s ok Kirsty! That’s how we all learn anything at first. Always feel free to go slow and learn from mistakes.😊

Exactly what I was looking for!!!
Love your channel. I want to make the the scarf in the backround. I think your directions are easy to follow. I am new to crochet and I think you have a great way of explaining. thanks
Thanks Vicki! That scarf is in my "Textured Super Scarves" booklet available here: www.amazon.com/Textured-Super-Scarves-Crochet-Leisure/dp/1464766541/ref=sr_1_21?dchild=1&keywords=bonnie+barker&qid=1586479174&sr=8-21
It is the red scarf on the cover, but worked instead with sock weight yarn and a size G crochet hook.
Thank you! 😁
Thank you sweet Bonnie 💕
I have always wanted to do this pattern. I finally get it.
Have my yarn coming Monday 😃
That's great JoAnne! This is a fun & relaxing pattern.
Beautiful!!! Thank you sooo much!!!!
Thank you for explaining the ongoing method. I had looked up another lady with same pattern but finished without explaining .
velia lopez my pleasure!
Iunderstand easily thanks
First time EVER crocheting. Thank you for your calm demeanor. You are so easy to follow with your instructions. My blanket turned out beautiful!!!
I have watched a lot of this kind of crochet tutorial videos but I have to say yours so far is the most satisfying. You could almost do a video of just you crocheting.😊
Awww...that is so sweet of you Savage Twin Mama! (Love that name!)
Very calming voice😊
I love doing granny square projects and the way you joined it to make it continuous was new and I like your border.
Thank you Karen! I can make one of these in a couple of hours the way this flows so quickly. Great for a quick baby blanket, and economical too!
