My mom tried to teach me how to crochet when I was a little girl. I mastered the single stitch, but never understood how to make a granny square. She passed away 10 years ago and I thought the tradition of baby blankets and afghans went with her. I stumbled on your video and you now have me cranking out granny squares and I can't stop! My mom would be so proud. Thank you so much. I look forward to continuing to learn other stitches from you. My mom's hobby feels like my own. 💕
Same thing with me! Are used to watch my grandma whip out Afghan after afghan and I always wanted to learn but never took the time to ask anyone. She died about five years ago and I wanted to learn how to crochet so that I could feel more connected to her and I learned everything from this channel! Jayda is the best teacher!
I am a quilter but I think you have inspired me to try my hand at a granny square. This has been by far the most easiest to understand for someone who has absolutely no crochet experience.

Hi Jayda. I'm a total beginner at crochet. I've been able to teach myself other crafts but crochet always got me in a twist. After watching your video I made my first granny square which I'm so proud of I may just frame it!! Thank you you're a terrific teacher. You don't go too fast. I was able to follow you. Also love the sense of humour. Don't lose that.
I am so happy I found this video after trying four others. I just couldn't figure out which holes to go through and thought I was doing something wrong because my initial crochet looked circular. You even explained this. The slow and steady pace and the fact that the entire video covered the whole granny square really helped for someone who is self-learning from youtube videos like myself. Kudos to what sounded like your very patient husband who was awesome enough to record the whole process for you and did a fantastic job zooming the camera in when he needed to.
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for watching and we're so glad you found our tutorial helpful :) And my very patient husband says "thank you for noticing my work!!" :)
Thank you. You are a patient, clear teacher. I like the way you crochet along with us showing and telling at the same time. I last made a granny square 75 years ago and have not made any since then until today. What a thrill for me to realize I could do and you made it seem so easy. Thanks again.
I just started trying to crochet tonight and I looked about about 5 tutorials before getting to yours and I have to say yours is the only one I found actually helpful. Every one else goes so fast and I thank you so much for being overly repetitive because IT IS NEEDED!!!! I have spent hours crocheting and pausing, crochet and pause and Ive finally got the hang of it. Added this page to my favourites and liking it for easy return. You are a great teacher and I feel so proud of myself for being able to make a square and hopefully continue it on to make my first blanket. Much much MUCH appreciation, it wouldn't have been possible without this video.
Hi! That is so great to hear! Grannies are not the easiest thing to start with either, so feel extra proud :) If you can make one of these, you can make a TON of projects!
I started to crochet about 30 years ago self toight now I got the first row rong cos I had 5 shels I stead of 4 and it thru of my whole sqear now I watchedoads of videos to teach me do it right and no it was no good it did not help then I found u thank u so much for making this a lot easer the way u show us and explain nice and slow what i ar doing and whear u ar going well done u ar a very good teacher and the only one I can follow thanx to u I hav perfic grany sqears now my joining up is grate and afghans looking good thank u
earthandfire Jayda is how I learned to make granny squares! And it’s how I found her channel several years ago. Even though I had been stitching since I was nine, I didn’t know very much. Learned so much from her. I bet you’re a pro by now and you finished your blanket 😄❤️🌈
Just had to comment and say that you are by far one of the best teachers of crochet I've ever seen on RUclips 🥰💕 As a beginner, I really appreciate you going slow enough to give those of us who are learning a chance to follow along without feeling rushed. I've watched COUNTLESS videos and almost always end up pausing or adjusting the playback speed a million times, but not with yours 🙃 Thanks so much! Subscribed!
This is the best site to learn granny squares. Every other sites I've been to says to do 3 sets of D.C In each corner. I found it to be very crowded and klutzy. Other sites say to go right to the center hole without doing a chain st. It's a big jump! I like your method best. I am, however, having a horrible time getting the right tension. I've watched a couple of sites recommending to hold the yarn in various position. I've tried them all and haven't been able to get the hang of it. Once in a while my stitch looks great with no gaps. I have no idea what I did! I have spent many, many all day marathons trying to get the right tension. Following your instructions my square came out very decent. I love the way it looks, despite that some of my stitches were kind of loose. I hope I can master the tension soon. I haven't really been able to enjoy working on my squares yet. Anybody have any good ideas for getting the right tension?
hi Roberta! It's just practice...and believe it or not, ignoring the tension. If you focus on the stitches, on the pattern, on turning corners and counting shells etc. but ignore what your yarn-feeding hand is doing, it will literally figure out the best way to hold and feed your yarn on it's own! I know that sounds crazy, but with repeated action, our bodies figure out ways to do things more efficiently, and tendons and muscles adjust to new requirements. It's amazing! It just takes a little time and trust that it will work out...it always does 💗
Hi, thank you so much - I am 67 and haven't crocheted in at least 20 years and couldn't remember how to make a granny square. Your video is excellent and was so easy to follow, thank you so very much
Hi Jayda, thank you so much for the Granny squares vid! I have Fibromyalgia and hate sitting around doing nothing when my legs won't work. My gran used to crochet and I found her old needles and with your help have completed my first granny square. I feel useful and productive but have the added bonus of "love in every stitch" as my gran would say! Thanks a million Peter x
Peter Moore, I too have FMS; I realized it's really Long-term Lyme Disease, from when I was bit by a tick in June 1987. It's very difficult to get a diagnosis, but I (finally) found a doctor who believes me & is having me tested; this time HE asked ME, told me, "I think you have a major parasitic infection." D'YA THINK??!! Many Blessings to You and Your Family; I know how hard this is, I used to ban a hard-core hiker, & now can barely make it to the rest room...
You are the best teacher on RUclips crochet tutorials. You are very thorough in the details explaining every step of the project. Thank you so much for being such a natural teacher.🎉🎉
I have watched soo many videos on how to crochet a granny square and still I did not understand!! Then I clicked on this video and it was like the light came on!! Now I can start on my grandchild's baby blanket, he will enter the world in November so THANK YOU I give this video a ton of thumbs up!! LOL You are my FAV!! Please continue to film and post on youtube. THANK YOU THANK YOU from NEW YORK!!
I love the way you instruct! This is exactly how I learned with my first crochet stitch several years back. It's like you are sitting across from me teaching me rather than me watching a video. I love the repetition in the instruction. That is extremely helpful! Of all of the videos I checked out, yours is the most informative; just the right speed too! Thank you!
Totally agree, even when you think it's going to be difficult she tells you don't worry I will be with you every step of the way and she means it. I crochet things that I never thought i could have done without her instructions 💕
Oh my gosh FINALLY a granny square tutorial that my brain can cope with! Jayda you’re an incredible teacher and a clear communicator without overcomplicating things. I can even begin to identify the components. I’m so proud of my first ever completed granny square and I am excited to learn more from you and make some little Christmas gifts for friends & family. Do you have any recs for what to watch next from your library of videos? ☺️🤍
Hi! Thank you for watching! We've got a LOT of tutorials, so really, it depends on what you want to make next! Just search Jayda InStitches and the project name of your choice and if we have a tutorial, it will pop up. If you want to see some Christmas Gift Ideas, we just published a fun video on some quick project ideas here: ruclips.net/video/fQwC0l3m-U0/видео.html and if you're pressed for time, another 3 here: ruclips.net/video/FjnLIdwz-nY/видео.html
ikr i tried to get thru 7-8 of them and they just talked too much while not working on it so TY! was easily explained too made my 1st real one is great...
I'm another grateful fan. I've lost count of the videos I have watched trying to learn the granny square. I found your video, and I was just tickled to find I could actually follow along. Bless your patient, generous self for helping others take up this lovely craft.
Hi, I normally don’t comment on videos but I wanted to thank you so much. My grandmother was always very skilled at crochet and knitting and while she taught me to knit I never could get a hang of crochet. She passed away last week and is as determined to learn. Thanks to you I just made my first granny square! Thank you again. I know my grandma would be so proud.
I've watched 3 different Granny Square Beginners Tutorials tonight and yours was by far the best! I finally got my 'square' to look like a Square! Thank you for making this so easy!
Been crocheting for over 40 years…love watching you explain how to crochet…getting ready to put together all my squares..thinking I will slip stitch it together…you are amazing. …👍
Your clear, well-paced instructions helped me FINALLY understand how to double crochet. Thank you!! Also…was very helpful to watch you from an “over the shoulder” perspective-brilliant to present from that POV.
Hi. I just saw your comment from 3 years ago. Did you stick with crochet? I bet after 3 years you're a pro now. I've been crocheting for 31 years. I love it. Please write back and let me know.
Thank you so much for explaining slowly and clearly. I'm an absolute beginner and other tutorials ramble on and crochet so quickly it's intimidating and disheartening. I couldn't ever understand what a double crochet is for example but now it's crystal clear.
Man I’m Floored at how wonderful of a teacher you are. I’ve had this video saved for years waiting to finally try this. I’ve spent 10+ years just not getting the hang of this. No idea why, it’s only the most beginner friendly project! I thought simple blankets and hats was my life, but finally took the plunge and I’m beyond excited to have a new project finally!
This the best tutorial and easiest that I found to learn a granny square. Nice and slow and watching you explain it. I enjoyed doing this with you! Thanks
you are such a wonderful teacher. I followed the instructions and I made my first granny square!!!!!! Thank you so much. I cannot believe you posted this teaching videos 7 years ago. But still that helps a lot!!!
I am 68 and have knitted over 60 years. Someone recently told me " I don't know how you can't crochet if you can knit. "I have fumbled with hooks but tonight I made my FIRST granny square!! You are so much fun to watch and you are so inspiring! My hubby was very impressed with my crooked square. Thank You so much!
I've been crocheting granny squares for about a year but I'm hunting youtube for new tips and techniques and I just have to say you are EXCELLENT teacher and you seem to have such a lovely spirit. Thank you for sharing your work!
honestly,, someone one day was like...let me manipulate this yarn in many different ways until it looks nice. Even after they did that,, how would they remember what they did 😭
I go back to this tutorial over and over every time I start a granny project. I appreciate how clearly your work is shown on camera. Also I love the colors you use in this granny square: they are beautiful together.
Thank you SO much for how patient and descriptive and fun this video is. I haven’t crocheted in years and thought I lost my mojo, which made me so sad. Watching your video changed that. I felt like I sat down with a friend who patiently guided me back to something familiar that I love doing. Thank you for awakening my joy again.
Yours was the third and best online tutorial I tried when teaching myself how to crochet. My first granny square took a whole day with me pausing your tutorial continuously but, 2 days later, I can knock out 3 granny squares per session (a good film on TV) and I still find myself talking your instructions through in my head. Exactly what was needed so many, many thanks for taking the time! xxx
I just want to thank you. Your videos are so wonderful. You go slow enough to help me learn and explain so well. So far I've made an giant basket for my yarn and now im making a blanket. Thank you!
Today is Saturday-April 22, 2023 and I have been trying to find the right person to teach me how to make a granny square...oh my geez "YOU" are my to go person. Thank you so much for teaching me. I love your vibe and how you are teaching the beginners and yes I am a big inner in my late life but you make crocheting look simple
I've been looking and looking for a good tutorial and this one is THE BEST! you explain it so well, the camera man did a great job zooming it to where you can actually see it step by step. you are a very good teacher. i've watched the entire video and will use this one to guide me through my very first crochet blanket! thank you! awesome video!
Tiffany TrianaMartinez Thank you Tiffany! My hubby is the camera man and frequently the director, I like to think we make a helpful team :) I'm delighted that you found our tutorial useful, and just in case you missed the links, we also made a joining tutorial and a border tutorial (links are in the video comment box) for assembling your blanket :) Happy Crafting, and thank you so much for watching :)
Well, what can I say except thank you from the bottom of my heart for going slow enough for an absolute beginner. I can’t tell you how grateful I am, I was ready to give up but my little square looks fantastic and I can’t stop staring at it 😂. I’m 64 and never got the hang of it, found knitting easier because that’s what my mum taught me but hey no, I’m going to keep with your channel and will recommend to all my friends and family. Cheers !! Xx
I watched loads of tutorials and would always, always make a mistake. Your video was the only one that got me to make a granny square finally and to even change colours on my first square. THANK YOU so much for sharing this! One down last night and MANY more to make. Sharing on my facebook page to let others know. Oh and hello from Australia!
Hello Kellie in Australia! Welcome to the crafty family :) I am so glad you found this tutorial useful, hearing that just makes me feel amazing ^-^ Thank you for sharing our video too, that's totally awesome!!
Thank you so much for this video. It is very easy to see what your hands are doing, and it's so helpful to hear you explain and compare what is happening with the yarn in your hand in relation to the finished square. Thanks for slowing it down and being so explicit!
Ever since I watched this video I have been making granny squares every day! I only learned how to crochet about two weeks before this but you make it very easy and fun, so thank you so much! Eventually I'm going to have to learn how to join them together but for now I'm content making them in tons of color patterns :)
That just makes me feel SO good! Thank you! When I first learned, I literally made piles of them :) Putting them together is very easy (and you can do it however you want, there are NO rules) and I will do a quick video very soon about my favorite methods for assembling granny-ghans...I think maybe the Chibis might make another appearance too... *giggles*
I went through at least a dozen granny square videos before I found this one. NOW I get it!!!! You explained it in a simple way and timed everything perfectly as I started getting it. Just a perfect video. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for taking time to explain everything in detail without being condescending. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and plan on starting my first granny square tomorrow!
This video was very much helpful in helping me learn how to crochet my very first granny square using the yarn I got at s thrift shop for 0.50¢! How crazy is that?! I very much appreciated you showing how each step looks like in the completed square for reference. Great Video 😊
Thank you so much, my mother has crocheted since I was young and she even tried to teach me but I never picked it up but then I found your video and when she woke up I showed her what I had done and she couldn't believe it at first, just thank you!
My goodness I’ve been watching videos for a long time trying to relearn how to crochet. You my lady are the best of the best. This old 63 yr old lady can actually follow your instructions. I sure wish I had found you a long time ago. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this lesson I am finally able to complete my very first granny square...Wish my Mom could see me do this she tried teaching me this granny square and I just didn't get it ...But I did today and am full of happiness and Joy just wished she could see me do this for the first time. Thanks so much...really enjoyed this tutorial for beginners.
Hi Jayda; I know that you have a lot of followers ie: friends but I want you to know that with ALL the video's that are on line to pick from, I didn't nor could I find comfort from anyone to teach me. Not to drag this out and bore you to sleep but my husband of 28 years died suddenly from a brain aneurysm on October 1, 2012. from that day forth I was unable to pick up a hook for the life of me, I had crocheted daily and like many you know made weddings gifts, baby shower gifts etc etc but that came to a grinding halt. Until I stumbled on your video. THANK YOU for allowing me to return to what I loved and cherished. The very first night I went to bed and I kept saying over & over I could hear you say " when you go to bed you will be saying " Chain Chain Chain..." And so it began. Know your kindness, gentle way of explaining and not treating many like second hand people. AGAIN gentle hugs to you and thanks for returning a craft which brought smiles to many especially myself since the death of my spouse. Your Hooker Friend for life; Colleen J. Schanz
Colleen Schanz Thank you so much for your kind words, Colleen :) I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's passing, such an awful shock, it's no wonder your interest in crafts went quiet for awhile. I have heard so many beautiful stories from people about how crafting has helped them to find themselves again, to bring them some peace and contentment, and it comes from a sweet place. I'm so happy to think that crochet has brought the smile back to your face, and I'm delighted to think that I could be part of that in some small way :) Welcome back to the beautiful craft and welcome to the family!
Wow! Im 77 years old & have crocheted for 40 years & just learned how to count rows on a granny square. Great video. Best instruction i have ever had from a teacher of this craft. So glad i stumbled across your site by having my phone fall & when i grabbed it, i lost my place & was now looking at your site. I really liked the colors i saw, so i stayed. Best pause of my life. Ty so much. I learned so much. Cant wait to get some yarn & start my squares. God Bless.
My wife found your instructions THE BEST after trying to master crocheting for years. She now has a fabulous collection of Granny Squares after only one week and is aiming for her first blanket which is a great achievement - she is so happy to have finally got the hang of this and the results speak for themselves thanks to your great tutorial video.
I am sooooo happy,n Made my first grannny! Im 60years old, took that long to finally learn crochet. Love your show, I feel like i just figured out hhow to.......?
I’ve looked at so many “how to crochet a granny square” tutorials/pattern books and just groaned. Tonight I discovered yours...thank goodness!!! I am hooked lol Thank you! Can’t wait to create and look forward to watching all of your tutorials! Awesome ❣️
Jayda, It’s granny square day here in the UK. I Just want to wish you a happy day! and to say thank you for this tutorial because here is where I learnt to crochet my first ever granny square... thank you 😊
Thank ❤you so much for your patience I have watched so many videos and yours was the one that did it for me 🎉🎉 my granny square finally loos like a square ❤😊.
I appreciate the clear and precise instructions along with the actual examples, thank you! My sister shared this video indicating how good of a teacher you are...I concur! We're able to revisit a hobby enjoyed in our youth. A new subscriber and 👍(liked it, too)...again, thank you!☺️☺️
This tutorial is amazing! I just spent two hours trying to teach myself to crochet and your tutorial was the once that clicked for me! Thank you so much for sharing!
thank you SO MUCH !!! i finally got a square and not a circle!!! i've watched so many other videos. Your camera person is GREAT !!! and the way you hold your yarn makes it easier/better to see what you're doing!
This is the only tutorial i've found that i can crochet along with the video. Everything is explained so well, and in more detail than others. It helps me learn to know why i'm doing something rather than just being told what to do. Thanks for the vid, great stuff XX
Hey there, I always wanted to try this. I used to crochet as a kid. Now there's plenty of time to re-learn what I forgot. Next I'd like to crochet a flower.
I just want to thank you Jayda for starting me off. I watched your how to for beginners, learning how to crochet and techniques. I now know how crochet granny squares and more. Thank you for taking your time and for slowing your videos down. 😊😁😊
I'm so happy right now! This video was amazing. I'm twelve and I just made my first granny square! Yay! My birthday money is totally going towards more yarn :) thank you soo so sooo much!
Hi PaperCranes! You are so welcome! If you're going to start collecting yarn, might I also suggest hitting up your local second hand stores because I find people are always donating "unwanted" yarn, hooks and notions (like buttons, thread, sewing kits etc). I've made some wicked finds thrifting yarn (garage sales too, now that I think of it) including beautiful vintage yarns, which are perfect for highlighting in a granny square :) Happy Crafting!!
I’ve been teaching myself with RUclips videos over the last few months and so far I absolutely love your videos…so easy to follow…and explain more then once. THANK YOU!! ❤
Jayda, I have been watching tutorials on You Tube on how to make Granny Squares. I found You today and U R fantastic teacher. I was going to give away all my odd pieces of yard and NOT NOW....I will be making a small Lap Afgan with the yarns. Cant wait to get started. You are definately Bookmarked so I can go back to see what you do with knitting also...THANK YOU.....
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much for watching :) Make sure you subscribe and you won't miss anything new! We've got a big library of crochet videos too, you can find them by clicking on my user name, that will take you to our RUclips channel homepage and then find the "videos" tab near the top of the page and check them out!
I LOVE GRANY SQUARES ❤ I HAVE FINISHED ABOUT 400 PIECES 2 YEARS AGO, MADE LARGE BLANKET/ BED COVER TO MY DAUGHTER. 50 YEARS AGO MY MOM (RIP), MADE 3 BLANKETS FOR ME & MY SIBLINGS ..THANK YOU JAYDA FOR REMINDING ME MY MOM'S WORK, AND MADE ME DO IT...LOVE FROM TURKEY 🤗 ❤🇹🇷🥰....
Your a great teacher I've never been able to understand other videos or books. You make it simple and easy and get to crocheting and don't waste alot of time. I watched your video 2 days ago and I've already learned how to make a Granny Square. Thank you! Your Awesome!

Jayda InStitches Best tutorial ever. I have finally found I can do this! At 71, I wanted to create things for my future g-grand babies. Thanks Jayda for a super clear video . 😁
You are best teacher. I have seen so many videos they are extremely quick and not thorough. Excellent I have made a square following your instructions very impressive. Thanks a lot

It just takes a little time and trust that it will work out...it always does 💗
I am 60 years old, you explained so well I was able to make my first granny square. I have tried teaching myself for years.
That's fantastic! Thank you so much for watching :)
Hi, thank you so much - I am 67 and haven't crocheted in at least 20 years and couldn't remember how to make a granny square. Your video is excellent and was so easy to follow, thank you so very much
Wonderful! We're so happy you found it helpful, Thank you for watching 😊

Your Gran would be so proud of you.
You are the best teacher on RUclips crochet tutorials. You are very thorough in the details explaining every step of the project. Thank you so much for being such a natural teacher.🎉🎉
Thank you so much 😊
I have watched soo many videos on how to crochet a granny square and still I did not understand!!
Congratulations on your coming grandbaby! And thank you for watching 😊
Thank you!
Hi Vicki, thank you so much, we're so happy to hear you found our tutorial helpful!
Totally agree, even when you think it's going to be difficult she tells you don't worry I will be with you every step of the way and she means it. I crochet things that I never thought i could have done without her instructions 💕
I totally agree!!! I thought very same thing!!! Love that she takes her time aaaaand repeating!!! Very helpful!!! Thank you again sooo very much!!!
Hi Ruth, Thank you so much for watching, we're so happy to hear it helped!
Hi Abbie! We're so glad we could help :) Thank you for watching!
I've watched 3 different Granny Square Beginners Tutorials tonight and yours was by far the best! I finally got my 'square' to look like a Square! Thank you for making this so easy!
That's super Netta! :) The sky's the limit now!
Been crocheting for over 40 years…love watching you explain how to crochet…getting ready to put together all my squares..thinking I will slip stitch it together…you are amazing. …👍
Hi Peggy! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Your clear, well-paced instructions helped me FINALLY understand how to double crochet. Thank you!! Also…was very helpful to watch you from an “over the shoulder” perspective-brilliant to present from that POV.
Hi Candi! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Yay - just made my first granny square - I couldn't crochet 24h ago :D
Hi! That's awesome:) So glad we could help! Thank you for watching :)
Same here !!
Hi. I just saw your comment from 3 years ago. Did you stick with crochet? I bet after 3 years you're a pro now. I've been crocheting for 31 years. I love it. Please write back and let me know.
Love this tutorial! Thank you so much for the help!

Never made any thing, I made my first granny square and it was successful. Please continue with videos-5/28/2023
Hi Marguerite, Thank you for watching 😊
I am an absolute beginner with crochet and I loved this tutorial. This lady was so easy to follow, her instructions were concise and clear, thank you!
Thank you so much for explaining slowly and clearly. I'm an absolute beginner and other tutorials ramble on and crochet so quickly it's intimidating and disheartening. I couldn't ever understand what a double crochet is for example but now it's crystal clear.
Hi! We're so happy you found our video helpful :)
I’ve watched so many videos that’s were almost identical on this topic and never understood. This video finally made things click for me. Thank you!!!
Hi! We're so happy to hear that 💗 Thank you for watching 😊
Great video. Thanks for the simple explanation!
Hi Samantha, we're so happy to hear you found our tutorial helpful! Thank you for watching 😊
This the best tutorial and easiest that I found to learn a granny square. Nice and slow and watching you explain it. I enjoyed doing this with you! Thanks
Hi Debbie, we're so glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching 😊
you are such a wonderful teacher. I followed the instructions and I made my first granny square!!!!!! Thank you so much. I cannot believe you posted this teaching videos 7 years ago. But still that helps a lot!!!
Hi! We're so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching 😊
This was BY FAR the best step-by-step explanation/tutorial I have found. Thank you soooo much!
Thank you for watching!
I agree
I am 68 and have knitted over 60 years. Someone recently told me " I don't know how you can't crochet if you can knit. "I have fumbled with hooks but tonight I made my FIRST granny square!! You are so much fun to watch and you are so inspiring! My hubby was very impressed with my crooked square. Thank You so much!
All RIGHT! Fantastic Janie 😁 Thank you so much for watching!
Congratulations you are an excellent teacher
Wow, you are the only one who really explains the corner. Thanks so much.
Virginia Wo
Yes she is!! She's a great teacher!!!
I've been crocheting granny squares for about a year but I'm hunting youtube for new tips and techniques and I just have to say you are EXCELLENT teacher and you seem to have such a lovely spirit. Thank you for sharing your work!
Hi Maggie! Thank you so much for watching 😊
I have to wonder how the hell someone first discovered this was possible
🤣
i think about this daily
😂😂😂. Necessity is the mother of invention. I think crochet comes from ancient lace techniques but crochet itself might have been from Ireland.
You know what that is one of many questions that I have to ask myself about who came up with it?. LOL
honestly,, someone one day was like...let me manipulate this yarn in many different ways until it looks nice. Even after they did that,, how would they remember what they did 😭
I go back to this tutorial over and over every time I start a granny project. I appreciate how clearly your work is shown on camera. Also I love the colors you use in this granny square: they are beautiful together.
Thank you so much for watching 😊
Thank you SO much for how patient and descriptive and fun this video is. I haven’t crocheted in years and thought I lost my mojo, which made me so sad. Watching your video changed that. I felt like I sat down with a friend who patiently guided me back to something familiar that I love doing. Thank you for awakening my joy again.
Hi Jennifer! We're so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching 😊
Really well explained did my first square thankyou
Wonderful!
Yours was the third and best online tutorial I tried when teaching myself how to crochet. My first granny square took a whole day with me pausing your tutorial continuously but, 2 days later, I can knock out 3 granny squares per session (a good film on TV) and I still find myself talking your instructions through in my head. Exactly what was needed so many, many thanks for taking the time! xxx
Hi Elaine, that's fantastic! We're so happy to hear you're finding our tutorial helpful :) Thank you for watching!
Thanks Jayda for your easy to follow granny square instruction. I haven't done granny squares for years, so great to refresh and get me started again!
Hi Lorraine, that's wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
I just want to thank you. Your videos are so wonderful. You go slow enough to help me learn and explain so well. So far I've made an giant basket for my yarn and now im making a blanket. Thank you!
We're so glad! Thank you for watching 💗
Hi Corrine! Welcome to our channel and thank you for watching 😊

Hi Lezlie! Thank you so much for watching 😊
Brilliant tutorial best I’ve come across finally made my first square granny square! Thank you ❤️
Hi Clare, Thank you so much for watching 😊
Well, what can I say except thank you from the bottom of my heart for going slow enough for an absolute beginner. I can’t tell you how grateful I am, I was ready to give up but my little square looks fantastic and I can’t stop staring at it 😂. I’m 64 and never got the hang of it, found knitting easier because that’s what my mum taught me but hey no, I’m going to keep with your channel and will recommend to all my friends and family. Cheers !! Xx
Hi! We're so glad you found our tutorial helpful! Thank you for watching 😊

Hi Kimberly! Thank you for watching, we so happy you found it helpful 😊
Oh my gosh thank you for your video 😊😊😊you explain so much better then most..😊😊
Hi! We're so glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching 😊
*giggles*
I love your video; you teach at the perfect speed and your hands don't get in the way of me seeing what's going on. Thank you!
Thank you Debra! 😄
I went through at least a dozen granny square videos before I found this one. NOW I get it!!!! You explained it in a simple way and timed everything perfectly as I started getting it. Just a perfect video. Thank you so much!
Hi there! Thank you for watching, we're so happy you found our tutorial helpful 😊
Thank you so much for taking time to explain everything in detail without being condescending. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and plan on starting my first granny square tomorrow!
We're so glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching Danelle :)
This video was very much helpful in helping me learn how to crochet my very first granny square using the yarn I got at s thrift shop for 0.50¢! How crazy is that?! I very much appreciated you showing how each step looks like in the completed square for reference. Great Video 😊
Score! Thank you for watching Janet 😊
Thank you so much, my mother has crocheted since I was young and she even tried to teach me but I never picked it up but then I found your video and when she woke up I showed her what I had done and she couldn't believe it at first, just thank you!
That's awesome :) I bet she was delighted! Thank you for watching, Dee'Ann!
My goodness I’ve been watching videos for a long time trying to relearn how to crochet. You my lady are the best of the best. This old 63 yr old lady can actually follow your instructions. I sure wish I had found you a long time ago. Thank you so much.
Hi Pam, Thank you so much for watching 😊
Thank you for this lesson I am finally able to complete my very first granny square...Wish my Mom could see me do this she tried teaching me this granny square and I just didn't get it ...But I did today and am full of happiness and Joy just wished she could see me do this for the first time. Thanks so much...really enjoyed this tutorial for beginners.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you so much for watching and sharing :)
Elizabeth Lalumandier Mee too! I kick myself for not paying attention!
This video is a bit older, but I wanted to say thank you. Your instruction was great and now I can’t stop making granny squares!
Hi! Thank you for watching 😊
Hi Jayda;
I know that you have a lot of followers ie: friends but I want you to know that with ALL the video's that are on line to pick from, I didn't nor could I find comfort from anyone to teach me.
God Bless.
Hi Nancy! We're happy you dropped your phone too 😁 * giggle * Welcome to our crafty community!

Hi! Thank you so much for watching 😊
This is the only tutorial i've found that i can crochet along with the video. Everything is explained so well, and in more detail than others. It helps me learn to know why i'm doing something rather than just being told what to do. Thanks for the vid, great stuff XX
Hi Donna, thank you so much! :)

Best instructions for a granny square. I was confused but now I've GOT IT!
Hi Nancy, that's great! Thank you for watching :)
Brilliant !!! thank you I have bought numerous books to show me how to crochet but your video was so easy to follow. Thanks again.
Hi Barbara, that's wonderful :) Thank you for watching!
I’ve been teaching myself with RUclips videos over the last few months and so far I absolutely love your videos…so easy to follow…and explain more then once. THANK YOU!! ❤
