Crystal, I'm a veteran crocheted, been doing it for years, and have never seen it done quite the way you do granny squares. I've made plenty of them over the years and noticed the "lean" some specific methods do. It looks not right, like off or something to me. Many of my granny squares have had that lean and I've searched for ways to eliminate that, watched tutorials of different methods to keep the lean from happening and as yet haven't seen any that totally do. But yours is the best and easiest one I've seen yet, you are so precise and detailed in your video instructions that you make it super easy to understand what to do. I've been watching your videos for a few years now and really get a lot out if them. So thank you, from this 65 year old lady. God bless! ❤😊

I’ve noticed in your tutorials that you make an effort to encourage your viewers to stop and study the crochet work as they go. You point out how it should look, where the repeats are, etc. As crocheters become more proficient, being able to “read” the crochet fabric can really step up your game allowing you to cross over from following others’ patterns to designing your own. Kudos to you, Crystal, for teaching your viewers how to “read” crochet.

This has been the best tutorial I’ve found on a granny square so far. I finally understand that people are bringing the hook in and then out of the hole in the circle, not just jabbing it through and continuing. I watched other tutorials that completely skimmed over that and I’m sure it’s intuitive to them but it’s confusing when you’re new! I feel like I can actually do this! THANK YOU!!!!!!! You’re the best!!!

I have been watching many beginner crochet videos here on RUclips to try to learn. However, this one has been the most helpful so far!! With the other videos, the person would always assume that the viewers knew what certain things were and would speed up portions of their videos, so I could not keep up. Thank you so much for showing viewers step-by-step how to do this!! I have officially made my first granny square! :)

It's wonderful that you do the very basic stitches right from the beginning, as well as making a whole item from that same stitch. You're just the best teacher for beginners and old pros alike. Thank you so much. A few years ago I worried about knitting and crocheting skills dying out completely, but thanks to dedicated teachers like you it's been saved! 💕💕💕

I just started practicing how to crochet 5 days ago ,and now ive finally made my first granny square. The other tutorials were difficult , but this one was so easy!
I love how you always repeat the steps in each round because other tutorials just fast forward it and leave it for us to do it ourselves 😢.
I did get confused in the start but then i realized i had to adjust the square with my hands. And instead of sewing the ends, i cut them. Thankyou🥹

I never could make a granny square until I watched a tutorial you did on one of your projects. You explain everything so clearly and slowly I got it.b I highly recommend you to anyone who wants to learn how to crochet. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the tutorial! I successfully made my very first granny square. Your video made it pretty easy to follow. I have a basic knowledge of crochet so far from doing little stuffed animals.

Thank you for this tutorial! I've been making granny squares for over 50 years and I always knew there had to be a way to make it seamless but I couldn't figure it out! I will be making them like this for now on. Thanks again!

Thank you! Wonderful tutorial. As a beginner, it really helped me understand the pattern. Sometimes I have issues with that and you explained it very clearly.

Hi Crystal! Thank you for a great stitch tutorial! I remember you had us do this in one of the squares for the CAL blanket we did in March and April. It was my favorite square because I thought it was beautiful. I didn't realize until watching this video that I was doing a large granny square back then. I love it! Have a great week! God bless you!
