I also had two stroke and was about to talk, write, walk etc again. I was always a crocheter and I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to crochet again it been 9 years now, I had to learn to crochet again but with RUclips I learned again and learn more stitches and techniques. I also improved my knitting and sewing. It was at my own pace, rewinding over and over again. RUclips is great for learning new things and improving new skills for seniors. I hope they stop trying to change it.

I liked your comment about not "unseeing" a mistake. Because I do many different types of crafting and needle work I have made my share of mistakes. I am also a bit of a perfectionist so when I have made mistakes--crochet, cross-stitch, tiny bead weaving, painting--I obsess about it to the point of driving my poor husband nutty. Finally he asked me to show him the general area of a mistake and said if he could pick it out without me identifying it right away then it was probably worth trying to fix. He said if he couldn't find it, most people would probably not notice it either. That was about 20 years ago and this method still works for me. He has also learned a great deal about crafting himself!

I absolutely love that you hold your working yarn the same way I do. My grandma and aunt tried for so many years to make me hold it with my pointer finger sticking up in the air, and I could never get it. As an adult, I picked up yarn again and did it my way, and now I am so good at it, and discovering many people hold it alternative ways and that is absolutely OK!

Happy Thanksgiving ! I have to admit that I am utterly addicted with the Granny Square for its nostalgic quality and versatility. In this video, I share how the infinity granny/rectangle is truly one of the easiest blankets you can make if you are a beginner. Limited counting and only chains/ double crochets are needed to whip this up. This is also a great "go to" if you are a seasoned crocheter wanting to get some stash busting done! That is so smart. I never thought of slip stitching in second dc, also flipping the work makes a neater work. And never did a rectangle granny square. Thank you.

Never heard of flipping your work to keep things square. Great idea. I will try it. Also love your colors (black, pink, tan, white) on your cover shot.

I first heard of that from Tony on TLYarnCrafts. It is so incredibly useful, I can highly recommend doing it for any project where you repeat a single stitch over and over, such as a shirt or sweater.

Just found your channel after dabbling with very basic crochet over the years...wanting to get back into it and this tutorial is just excellent. I don't want to be dramatic, but I can't tell you how thrilled I was to see how you hold your hook! I have never been able to hold mine any other way and I feel encouraged seeing you and your beautiful work. I look forward to trying the rectangle version of this when I get my yarn order. I've subscribed...😊

    Hi Roz,
I'm an 83 yr. old woman who has begun to teach myself crochet and I found your videos the best of all, and I've watched many. I love your straightforward, clear approach to teaching. I want to ask if and how I can get printouts of your patterns. Thanks so much for presenting crochet clarity and many good wishes for success.

I love the colors you've used with these granny's! I'm really impressed with that tip for making your granny square flips! I've always done it the other way and like you mentioned in your video it's not straight, it's kinda wavy. So now when I make granny squares I'm flipping!! Thanks for the great tip! I've never made a rectangle granny square either, so I'm gonna try my hand at doing both the traditional and the rectangular granny!! Love this video! So informative!! Thank you!!
