thx for making the video, great to see how the machine works. i would put the portafilter with coffee in only if you are ready to go. i think it's not ge best to let it sit there for goo long.
After this review and two other ones on RUclips, I decided to go ahead and place my order on this machine. I received my Alm Kopi yesterday and I am having a problem with it. The PID cannot reach the target temperature no matter how long I wait. I contacted the manufacturer and the agent stated I should always add water to the chamber before starting the PID or, there is a risk of burning out the heating element. I followed his advice and the PID is still unable to heat up the chamber to the target temperature. It only reached about 78-82C and kept fluctuating in that range. The agent stated they have added a protection system to the PID to prevent it from burning out. This could probably be the reason the PID is now too weak to properly heat up the chamber. I am communicating with them to resolve the problem. Aside from the PID problem, the machine has functioned flawlessly and has a solid hefty built into it. The piston movement is super smooth. They have included three extra o-rings which is nice. However, the mirror and light are missing.
I saw a post about the offset temp too. The user opened the chamber that contains the "Electric PI Polyimide Film Heater Heating Element." The temperature sensor's wire that goes through the chamber was being heated up. Instead of reading the temp inside the plunger it's actually reading the chamber thet houses the heating film. The manufacturer instructed the user to insulate it using a "Silicone Fiberglass Cable Sleeve High Temperature Resistant" to prevent the wire from heating up first instead of the probe tip, in order to get a more accurate temp measurement.
@@vanjosh7763 Yes, I ended up with the same solution. It is now accurate and can reach the target temperature. They sent me a video instruction on how to open up the chamber and do the mod. I still ended up messing up and breaking the metal ring that was holding the PID sensor bar in place when I was putting back the thing together. This was due to my own negligence. I made up my own solution to fix the problem I created myself because I don't have a welding gun to fix the ring in its place. It is now all working fine and I am quite satisfied with the machine.
Thank you for this video! I see you used the splitter to fit the Pressensor, but did you need anything else? Thanks for the links. I am always afraid to buy something like that from AliExpress, but now I know it's legit!
May I ask how the square bar that holds everything above is attached to the base? Is it slightly pushed through the base plate and then welded, or is it just standing on the base plate and then welded?
@@morningcoffee1 looking at the video it looks like it's welded? Iim talking the about the long square rod body that holds the chamber and handle on how it is attached on the base plate below not the plate it is standing on. I'm worried that in the long run whenever you make shots it I noticed a slight bend of the suqre rod and if it would snap someday on the contact point weld of the base plate.
Did you add any additional connection piece before the pressensor splitter? I see you removed the first connection elbow and put the splitter in before that, I am afraid im going to break something when i tried to loosen this elbow.
Hello again my dear friend!) Would you recommend some "must have" accessories for me to start with this machine? I was thinking about ordering MHW puck screen and DEX basket (tho i am not sure which size i should get 20 or maybe 22?) I appreciate all recommendations! THANKs in advance!)
Thanks for a video! Very helpful! I am about to order it right now) You did a great job with showing all the nuances and the workflow. Keep it up!
Thanks alot 🤗. You will enjoy it so much.
A maintenance video of this machine would be awesome. Would help decide if i get it or not !! good work
nice one. i enjoyed your video. thanks and good luck
i just got mine today, thank you
You're welcome 😊
Congratulations 🎊

I'm sorry for that, I have a possible solution. Adjust the offset of the PID to compensate the variance.
@@morningcoffee1 How do you adjust the offset?

@@raminolta Can you please upload the video in RUclips? I'm interested in the method. Thank you
Great video, thanks. I've just ordered this machine.
Thanks. You'll love it, I'm sure.

It's safe, don't worry. I just used the splitter, nothing more to fit the Pressensor.

It's just threaded like any screw.

I got the connector with the Pressensor. It's all hand tight only. Don't over tighten it. Then you forget it like me.
Yeah I mean just loosen the first fitting on the alm kopi is where I’m having trouble I can not loosen and feels like it is going to break
2:23 can you link the presensor ?
You mean the link yo buy it?
how did you take the shower screen and the sealing out?
Just use a tea spoon to take it out

I got the DEX 18g basket and makes good coffee. Don't buy any other accessories, wait as the box really has everything you need.
@@morningcoffee1 thank you. I understood.
Hello :-) thank you for the video someone can please put the link to this product? Wich scale can be connected to the smart bt pressure gage?
Ty :-)
The link is already in the description.
The scales are dependent on the Pressensor. They have support for many scales now. Just check the link provided in the description.
are you sure you should heat up the machine without water?
Yes, sure. I was asking the same, but they confirmed it is designed to work like that.
Hi. where did u buy splitter for pressensor and pressure gauge ?
From pressensor website
@@morningcoffee1 Thank u
