Which day is your favorite? I think #2 always looks the best for me! Shop the products used in the video here: www.getglammedup.co/2020/01/video-3-ways-to-refresh-curly-hair-full.html
day 1 is my favorite, only because my hair turns out pretty nicely and sometimes INCREDIBLY defined. Sometimes day 2 is still pretty good, but since i started the cgm, i don't quite "have" curly hair, i used to have like type 1c/2a hair and i hated it, so i turned to the cgm. it's been a real journey full of good hair days and terrible hair days. i still REALLY want like actual curls that are natural and when they air dry, they're not almost straight. When i do air dry, they tend to just stick almost straight. Do u have any tips for that? Btw I LOVE ur curls, they're literally so beautiful. Sometimes i wish i had ur hair lol. You've helped me a LOT with curly hair tips and I just want to say thank u SO MUCH! Have a good quarantine and stay safe. God bless.
I normally only have to detangle every other day, but my hair gets so dry and frizzy I always gave up and washed again by day 3. Now I’ve watched this video my hair almost always lasts 5 days so this was a life and time saver ❤️
omg, same! I can never seem to be able to get past every other day since my hair accumulates to build up very easily. In one day it already feels like I haven't washed my hair in a week, and my curls always seem to become frizzy, and tangled since I can't use too much product.
Hi Gina, thank you so much for educating us on all things curly girl! No matter how much I try to refresh and use all these wonderful refresh tips my hair always ends up a hot mess. So what I do is just jump in the shower and water rinse only (no products at all on non- wash days) and restyle my hair. Do you think that is okay? I have very similar hair as you, tangly, high porosity, thin, 3A. Suggestions please?
Thanks so much for this video! I think your hair is most like my own in curl type, and I've had one heck of a time figuring out how to refresh and when!! This video has been priceless for me!!
Hi Gena Marie, thank you for all your great tips. Your hair is beautiful. (Ignore my profile pic-that was post-chemo) it’s grown back now but I’ve just had it cut to fall at collar length-I’d forgotten about the dreaded triangle shape but I don’t like my fine, curly hair with layers or it just looks lopsided! I hope you’re doing well 3yrs on, all the best, Nicci x
My problem with my curly hair is that every time I sleep with my silk bonnet on, it shapes my whole hair like the shape of the bonnet and it destroys my curl pattern :/
This was so helpful thank you. The fact that you use product and diffuser for so many days in a row- is that ok for our hair? I was so far just using some leave in conditioner or Argan oil on refresh days and just kind of patting it in and that’s all. To be honest my hair didn’t look good but I just assumed we weren’t supposed to detangle, heat or product unless it’s a wash day
Love your hair! I also have thin &curly hair and something that helps me with volume is not using a leave-in and going directly with my curl cream. It weighs down my hair tremendously, maybe you should try it once and see if there's any difference☺️💗💗
I love your videos! I want to try your olaplex routine from other videos. But! Then ooh No! Devacurl! Have you seen all of the people losing their hair from it? Scary scary stuff. Subtle thinning around the hairline then massive hair loss. I have never used them, but I’m so sensitive to products I’m sure I would be one of the unlucky ones. Yes I know everyone is different. There are so many great products out there which obviously I’m sure you know. Please be careful your hair is beautiful ❤️
If you look up the curl ninja here on RUclips you will see. Her name is Stephanie. She was a Devacurl stylist for years and started experiencing hair loss. She is now an advocate and feels terrible for recommending it to her clients. She owns a new salon and is trying to help ladies that Devacurl has negatively affected. I know it’s horrible to hear because the products are so expensive and we want the best for our curls. And to think they still sell it!
@@stephaniesantelmann210 Wow! Thanks for this info. I was starting to look into using DevaCurl products but was hesitant because of the cost. I'll be sticking with Curlsmith, who Gina got me hooked on. It's only slightly less expensive, but at least I won't lose my hair!
your videos have been very helpful to me, thanks. Doesn't your hair fall out a lot on your 4th or 5th day of wash? it does to mine, what I am doing wrong?
My problem is that I hate wearing a bonnet...just don't like anything on my head. Is there anything else I can do. My hair is a mixture of curls and waves.
Hi Gena!! I love your videos, I find them so helpful! Hopefully this isn’t asking tmi, but if you showered between Tuesday and Saturday, how did you protect your curls from getting too much moisture in the shower? I love waiting four days in between washes but need to shower, so I usually just end up washing my hair as well. Thanks!!
Thanks so much for this video! I feel like I’m in a refresh rut. My hair keeps drying out or tangling on day 3 & 4. But perhaps I have been putting too much product on day 2. I try these ideas this week.
I must be the only one with curly hair that washes every day. Otherwise it is a matted mess no matter how I sleep. I think this video shows how to get stringy ramen noodle curls. I prefer big curls. Can never get that after sleeping on them.
You should stop touching your hair with the diffuser. That's why your ends are SO damaged. Use your hands instead. Just cup your hair with your hands with the blow dryer away from your hair. Literally the whole time you diffuse your ends are in the blow dryer.
Girl, no offense but I think the main reason you can't grow out your hair long is you don't brush or comb enough. You don't use enough amount of shampoo but you use lots of hair products. Let me tell you that curlies need also brushing before hopping in shower. I used to not brush my hair either as i was curly and was looking for natural look but~~~~it will cost you a lot. And also i would not recommend brushing or combing when it's wet. I guess your scalp got irritated because i see your scalp red. Or it might be my imagination as you have red chestnut brown color. Editing: start from ends and then go to the top while comb/brushing. Good luck
I'm a curly girl and I can't brush or comb my hair at all without losing all volume. I just run my fingers through it when absolutely necessary, otherwise just scrunch & fluff the roots.
@@paigan9 but you can brush it before hopping into shower, right. I saw her parting all of her strand and knots before shower and i was like "giiiirl, i would do more important thing than that."

Aw thanks for stopping by and subbing! 💖
I am in love with your hair, Gena!!! I also love all your tutorials, so thank you!!
You're so lucky that you can get to day 4. My roots get really oily in less than 24 hours. I have to wash every other day.

Gloria, have you tried putting your hair up in a pineapple?
@@josiemendoza5974 Yes, but it makes my curls frizzy
have you found a solution yet? i have the same problem and i’m stressing out because i have school soon and idk what im gonna do abt my hair
@@billiee420 Ive only found a temporary solution but I re-wet my hair and do my hair routine again as if I just washed my hair -- it's the only way.
@@gloxx02 how do you dry it ? When I do that it takes forever for it to dry and I’m not able to dry it in time for school

I put my hair in a shower cap when I shower every day. This is the one I have: amzn.to/2YWOLLd
So this lasts 5 days till wash or 7?

i have to detangle every day and then my hair frizzes, sometimes even with product. i keep asking my hair, “WHY DO YOU HATE ME?!”
I have to detangle most days as well!
😭
I wish I had curly hair😍😍😍😍
Trust me you don’t LOL 😭
It is ALOT of work and takes quite a bit of time to take care of
When i brush, i loose definition.. wht should i do.??
Girlll your hair is fabulous. You gotta throw out those Deva Curl products before they ruin your beautiful hair.

D Cher that’s really rude.
Rosetta Drone no-that’s what it shows. How is that rude? 🙄
Don’t worry I shower with it every day too, I get sick of dealing with it so I just shower

I could brush it before showering, but unless I've been riding in my bf's convertible, I don't need to. A regular trim keeps the tangles at bay.
