I love farmers. They didn’t call you to get it out, they called you to help them get it out. They’re right at it pulling cables and hooking up shackles, not sitting on the side like other folks. Different breed of people.
Yep, they laugh when the go into town and some self indulgent weenie is sitting there in their 250K Lambo, cause the tractor they just drove in driving cost a cool 1 million.
@@RadDadisRad Get over yourself bud, I know, I literally work in a trade, it’s 8:10pm and I’m still working with 4 hours left on my shift. I didn’t say ONLY farmers are a different breed.
Heavy D: you sure picked up a great team member with Alan, as he can fix anything, drive anything, and is a great presence on video. And while we haven’t seen Skeeter too often, I really think he is also a great team member. Thank you guys!

To be fair, I do this for a living and if the firm I work for had this machinery, I would have done it this way lol. Unfortunately we have far less so alot of digging is needed.
Hey Dave, I have been watching your videos for a long time now. And now I’m asking to please spread word for my 2 month old daughter. Being a 4th generation farmer in southern Saskatchewan i feel this was done on purpose for content purposes. Tracked tractors get stuck in like an inch of mud. They float and dont dig like tires do. This guy gave her all thw onions and purposely dug himself in. We use 65,000lb quad tracks to pull our 380,000lb air drills and fully loaded air carts. We farm in gumbo which is a mixture of hard clay and sand. When its wet its gooey and sticky. When you slip and spin on tracks, the tracks fill with mud and you go no where fast. We use 2.5" yankum kinetic ropes when we get stuck. We unhook, tractor drives itself out, we pull off an angle and get the cart out. Then come back and reseed after it dries when we do the sloughs. No need for a wrecker. Just some common sense.. happy planting
I could see where you’re coming from if the tracks were wider but they’re really not it’s not nearly as much surface area to prevent it from sinking all the weight is just on those what I’m assuming 18-24 inch tracks when they should be running 36
@@Beans64209 18"-36" tracks all act the same in mud. Once your slippage is over 40%, regroup and halt the throttle before you dig a hole even you couldn't get out of. It's also very hard on frames and pins to be pulling out that deep. Best to excavate around so it's less wear on the fragile frame. *edit* Our Case quads are on 36" tracks. Our John Deere 2 track is on a 24" track. In mud they all act the same.

One dollar million dollars God I really love the wide open valleys in the western US. Idaho, eastern Washington, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, etc. Some of the most beautiful scenery on Earth. Got another drive through it planned soon. Super excited.
I just watched the story about Dave’s snowcat accident and it reminded me about my own near death experience. I always had faith in God but my surviving was purely a miracle and a reflection of the power of prayer. I was moved by that story and glad to see Dave survived. God Bless guys!
On C&C equipment they showed the hett that they just got had a small winch that could be used with a snatch block to pull out the cable from the larger winches. Maybe you could look into that instead of having to tire out your whole team everytime you use the big winch.
10:28 am I the only one seeing that thing fly behind Dave. Maybe it’s their drone flying… something is odd about it though! Lol Besides that you guys are super impressive!!
About 35 years ago, we had an articulating FW60 Ford with a disk about that size behind it, buried beyond the axles. My father wanted to unhook it from the disk and pull just the tractor grandfather said no way. He proceeded to put together a set of block and tackles, then took our largest loader, slammed the bucket into the ground, and used the bucket as the pivot point, ran those block and tackles with cables, and using our other articulating Steiger, proceeded to pull that FW60 right out of the ground. Never underestimate the power of the six basic simple machines... sure shocked the heck out of my dad, he couldn't believe my grandfather made that work.
This is a prefect time to think about irrigation, if he would have run an irrigation trench down the length of that field it would most likely never have happened. You boys are getting better compared to your first videos stumbling around busting your tails now with the right equipment and experience things are getting easier on you and the equipment . Thanks for the fun.
Another fantastic video! The entire crew is amazing, excellent job guys! Nobody ever looks like they don’t want to be there working, always looking happy, makes the shows excellent, never bickering (on camera anyways😂). Again, fantastic! 🙏🤩🙌

I am sure there are times you need to correct something, but I wish most managers were like you. Thank you for the input always, it is refreshing.
You all need a large, wide flat ski you can slide under stuff like that. Have a lifter on it that as you pull, it levers the towed item up out of the muck and lets the ski (with a huge square foot footprint) slide it along the ground.

And that boys and girls is how its done. Having this Hett off road wrecker is a AMAZING piece of Equipment. I think there could be some modifications added to it that we use on the Big 100 Ton Miller Rotator Crane/Wrecker we have. That would definitely benefit it. But it would also make it heavier. And with that you lose some of the abilities of the trucks off road capabilities. Better outriggers and side winches that can be utilize those outriggers to redirect additional winch lines for yet more pulling power never hurts. And a set of BIG pin in spades off the back couldn't hurt either. Im a big fan of using Mechanical Advantage (Pulley and Snatch Blocks) to help pull from different angles, Including UP to help free things stuckbin the soft ground and mud. The Hydraulics of simple mud is amazing. Being able to pull upwards to free the vehicle, And towards dry undisturbed ground at the same time is a HUGE advantage.
That's buried? Spend a couple years or even a year out in a field you'll see some crazy stuck tractors lol. Far more than this one. Surprised they couldn't get it out with that case!
