Absolutely insane, never thought it would be possible to do a "trail" repair on a boat with a massive hole in the bottom. Especially not flip the whole damn thing over and back without an issue. Love this channel
Yeah, it was cool how ge fixed it, but now the boat is even more damaged than before. When he rolled it, he completely crushed the surf Bar, or wake Bar, or whatever the thing is that goes over the top of the boat that had the marine grade speakers on it, not to mention, it also ripped the bolts holding down right out of the hull, so to bold on a new wake bar, you'd have to put a patch, most likely metal plate, over the holes where the bolts were ripped out and drill and tap new holes for the bolts. Unless the boat was already totaled, I don't agree with his decision to roll it as apposed to just towing it on the air bags

I guess the insurance was probably going to "total" it anyway... but rolling it over and tearing off the rack and thrashing one whole side rolling against the rocks pretty much seals the deal... still a super GREAT recovery!! Really good that it's out of there because, if it had sunk, the environmental impact fines for all that gas and oil would not have been pretty ugly. (let alone sad that it leaked into the lake) I had my houseboat impounded at Powell-Wahweep for a fuel filler hose that had dry rotted and came completely apart without warning. While at the fuel dock it leaked a crapload and by the time the fuel girl stopped pumping it caused a giant fuel slick. - This closed the fuel dock for several hours while they put out absorbent mats and booms and went into full-on fire protocol. Needless to say, our insurance company cancelled us after they paid the EPA fines. Along with varying fines, the EPA statute also says 1 year in jail if convicted of negligence. and the lawyer said if we were pumping our own fuel, that would likely have applied. - potentially due to negligent maintenance.
You guys are nothing short of amazing! Everything you give up, like spending Fathers Day with your own families, to rescue another family & friend. I hope they appreciate your kindness & dedication. Well done my friends, well done!!
My Grandpa, dad, and uncle sank a boat during a storm in lake Powell too. Luckily the rangers got to them in time to rescue them. They didn't get back to us until several hours later. We thought they drowned or something!
I think you will find most guys with the ability to help will always be to the rescue of his fellow man. I have a 1/2 mile of rope and a bunch of blocks and have yet to ever fail on a vehicle recovery.

You did the right thing by fixing the hole an pumping it out and than drag it back to the dock.The recovery time is also the most scary time cause you can lose what your tryin to save all the way to the bottom of the lake, like you cant half ass that part of the recovery you got to do it right . Good job people you saved it totally 😎💯✌

You're a good friend to have for many reasons, but certainly when toys get stuck (or sink)! That looks like a nice boat that was sunk... hopefully the fix isn't too terribly expensive - it'll be worth it to have it back in use, that's for sure!

I have always wanted to visit Lake Powell. The houseboating, the speed boating, skiing, fishing, floating, etc. It's a stunning place. I would pay a lot of money (that I don't have😂) to get there and spend a week or 10 days on a houseboat (with access to a ski boat). Sad it won't happen, but maybe I can get my daughter there some day. She'd have a blast! Summer fun is here!

Next time bring some splashtech, rags and tarps. It's the quickest way to patch holes underwater. Tarp the outside of the boat so it fills in the holes then shove rags into the holes and apply splashtech. If not a board with rubber on one side with a piece of all thread threw it and some angle iron to anchor it on the inside and outside of the vessel works even quicker. But good job with the salvage.

Man y’all are doing what I love to do weekly. I manage SeaTow Central Texas, we specialize in boat recovery whether sunk, ran aground etc. we have badass bags and tricks we use to make these jobs fun. Wish we were closer I’d love to help y’all out

One thing I learned sinking multiple boats at our cottage, is you need to get the water out of the engines and gearboxes ASAP, get oil squirted into the cylinders, and get the engines running ASAP.
If you can get the motors running within less than about 48 hours, you'll probably be able to get away with no serious engine work.
On the other hand, if you let the engines sit with water in them, but the boats out of the water, for multiple days, the engines are going to need major rebuilds, with new pistons, rings, bearings, etc...
Another thing to consider is if you dry seat foam materials, carpets, etc these also can most likely be saved
