I switched over to Mac from PC. Setting up my Mac Mini with OBS. I have two monitors: one connected via the HDMI and one connected via USB-C Hub. Everytime I create a Display Capture Source, it tells me there is No Device Connected or Not Available. Any solutions?
my obs isn't recognising anything for the display capture. do you know how I can fix that? I don't have a separate moniter, only a macbook pro laptop. thanks in advance!
That’s actually what I’m using in this video. Do you have the latest M1 laptops? Maybe there’s an OBS issue there, I haven’t used any of the newest laptops yet
I just ran into this same issue, turns out there was a pop up box that said OBS was requesting permission to record my screen, I just had to open system preferences and allow it to record and then reopen it. Maybe it’s the same problem you’re having, best of luck!
@@tristanmartinez3237 @Pixel & Bracket yes! thank you both for responding - I do have the latest M1 laptop and this is the issue. I'll try your suggestion. thank you!
I had the same problem because my screen was so cluttered. Buried under all of them was a popup, you must click system preferences on the popup and allow obs to view the screen. I hope I helped!
In obs the problem for me is I do a screen record and after that I can’t look at the file because something needs to be downloaded but the App Store does not have that app
just a question on windows laptop we get option that only laptop sounds gets recorded and we could pause/stop mic as we don't want to record ours, is there no option here for that? if there is one we can record audio playing and not the one we speak, do advise...
Is there a way to record inside the Safari browser at the correct aspect ratio 1080 for RUclips tutorials? I am using an external monitor for my MacMini
@@pixelandbracket sincere apologies for the late reply. I kinda solved it as Google Chrome has an extension where I simply click the size e.g. 1920x1080 and the browser resizes. As I have a 32" monitor I didn't want to capture the whole screen and videos I wish to mage are tutorials etc within the admin of WordPress
I record my screen with Quicktime for RUclips, but when I export it from my video software editor, it only has 720 as an export option. Any way to record in 1080 or can you only do that with OBS?
instead of using Export in Quicktime, trying going to File>Save. That will save the full video size, instead of compressing to smaller formats. When you use this in you're editing software, make sure you're creating a full 1080p sequence instead of creating one based on the clip. Sometimes you'll have to scale clips up if they're smaller than 1080
Sorry I’m late to reply, but Mac doesn’t have native desktop audio recording. There’s a few workarounds out there that you can install if you search for Mac desktop audio recording
OBS has a bug in MacOS that blinks or flickers which seems to have been unresolvable for many years now so it makes it unfit for streaming and recording.
Following along with your vide after select Screen Capture, Audio Mixer window begins playing Soylent Green audio, will not close, cannot be closed, cannot be muted. Movie sample is louder than your video. Cannot hear you any longer. There is ONLY HATE in this fuching world.

you are the only one so far who mentioned the fit to screen, thank you
true I was looking for this info too
All my other devices display but it won't show me the option to screen record
I did everything till the point of the screen recording part.
Nothing comes up when I try to screen record it’s still just a black screen.
Same! Is yours an older version like mine because I am starting to think that is the reason.

You need to change the filetype that you save. In the preferences go to Output. Then in the Recording tab, change your "Recording Format" to mp4.

For this do you need extra screen

Have you notice the quicktime recording produces a higher quality picture colours are washed out and smaller size file compared to the OBS?
QuickTime has been higher quality in my experience

When I record the desktop, the audio is there but then once I stop the recording and save the video. The audio doesn't save. Any thoughts?
Mac or PC?

obs will not do this on my Mac. it just a black screen, it records absolutely nothing. any advice?
You night need to allow screen recording in security/privacy in system settings
Why is it not working on obs?
OBS has a bug in MacOS that blinks or flickers which seems to have been unresolvable for many years now so it makes it unfit for streaming and recording.
My entire channel is recorded with OBS, use it daily on Mac. Haven’t seen this bug?

After you save it how do you edit it?
Using an editing software like premiere pro, final cut, shotcut, etc
try VSDC if you want to edit for free
