The 15v big brown bear knives are all insane. I can’t get them to dull. I have all three, para 2, manax 2, and the Shaman which is my daily user. I love them all. Shaman in 15v is the best knife I’ve ever owned. I even bought one to keep and never use.

I want that wharnie PM2 so badly. I put Cerberus Ultem scales on on PM2, and am going to add toxic storm fat carbon back spacer and clip from RGT. I want the PM2 Wharnie and I want to put black ultem scales on it. I love the semi transparent gold ultem that is on my S45VN DLC PM2 and also have the BladeHQ exclusive Deka Wharnie in Ultem and Magnacut, but think it would be dope to have black on a DLC wharnie
Now comes the true mission. Find a Crucarta or Z-Carta Shaman. I was lucky enough to find a Z-Carta on the swap, and it is probably tied with my 15V Manix as my favorite Spyderco. The Z-Carta is actually in my pocket right now.

I’m also a huge fan of spyderco’s DLC coating. Love how matte it is and how it wears with use and I love doing Spyderco builds with the DLC blades cause it creates a really high contrast look paired with some bright coloured scales. Really cool stuff.
The Shaman has been my “go to” work knife for years. If I had to choose one knife for life, it’d be that knife. I’ve beat the crap out of that S30V so easy sharpening is very important.
When I first got into knives, I hated Slydercos- thought they were hideous. Now, my top 10 knives are dominated by Spyderco. My favorites- 5. Sage 5 4. Spydiechef 3. Techno 2 2. Shaman 1. Smock
nice list gorilla! i wouldnt mind trying out some of their liner lock style knives, i havent ever experienced one, always all compression style or back locks. sometimes it takes just getting 1, then you realize how comfortable and well made how sharp they are, then its over lol. thanks brother

@GBall_Vision Hey brother, I just got my shaman! Do they typically come pretty stiff? Because mine is pretty dang stiff lol. I'm sure after a while it will break in, and I've added some lube to it and adjusted the pivot screws, but dang, lol.

Typically you don't want to mess with anything and just keep opening and closing it for a few days and eventually it becomes like butter. If you watch the unboxing of mine you can see kind of how stiff it is. I can show you a video of how it is now I'd say it took about 4-6 days of opening and closing it every night. But what you did is okay, just keep opening and closing it. Those washers are like a new machine that need break in time to run good
The first S30V knife I owned was a Spyderco. Still razor sharp and not a speck of rust. It's been 15 years now. And the knife design has been discontinued, the Zulu. Sweet knife.

Just swapped out the scales on my S30V Manix with some AWT aluminum scales and added the replacement ball cage lock and Lynch replacement clip. By eliminating the liners, it almost cut the weight of the knife in half. It’s now only about a half ounce heavier than my lightweight Manix but looks cooler and feels better than the lightweight’s FRN scales.
Great video! I got the acid etched version of the Smock with heat treated bronze hardware from KP. I’m obsessed. I’ve already swapped the scales, pocket clip, button, and added a brass back spacer. Can’t decide if I’m going to do Shaman or Para 2 next.

Several on my list are there because they carry slim in my pocket; Kapara, Smock, and somewhat the Gayle Bradleys . It’s easy to reach into the same pocket as these knives to pull out a roll of dog poop bags! Several are on my list as work knives; Native 5, Gayle Bradley, Para 3. These are relatively easy to use with leather gloves on, especially the Native with back lock. The compression lock can be frustrating when wearing leather gloves. The Kapara and Smock are kind of dressy edc but fully capable of doing some work.
I can't talk on the paramilitary 2 yet but it will be gotten soon, I absolutely want to check one out, I'd say they'd compare well though, but the shaman still might have it by a smidgen 🤜💥

I defintely like the contoured scales on the shaman . I like every knife on the table a lot tbh. Big fan of that dude on Etsy from France with the contoured fat carbon 3 pack deal of scales , backspacer and clip for the para 2 . He s doing a shaman that way although it’s not advertised . I ll send a pic when/if it arrives . I thought them titanium scales Robs nerdy knives has on his looked excellent on the shaman . I think I paid $170 for the scales , backspacer and clip. Made $600 today patching up a plaster ceiling . I use rhododendrum fertilizer , a palmful , to quicken the hardening so I can clean up them topcoat . ❤this time of year with construction/ maintenance .
Would love a Shaman but my PM2 is working just fine. 100% agree on the S30v! Been using my pm2 for 5 years and it’s got many years of service left in it.

I've always advocated for the manix 2 but I have to say, native 5 is my favorite to carry lately. It's blacked out in cruwear like your pm3. That's my top two spyderco knives.
@@GBall_Vision S30V and S110V are the only options in g10 outside of knifecenter's cruwear exclusive. There's is a premium one with S90V and carbon fiber scales. Of the lightweight models I'd go with Maxamet or spy27, the one in magnacut is fully serated.

being in the early stages of magnacut, it seems to be like 154 or s30v on steroids, very well rounded steel for sure. but on the other hand, s30v properly HT, would be more then we could ever need, we just love steels lol
Best steels from spyderco from my uses.. i cut zip ties and alot of cardboard Maxamet steel is the only steel i didnt need to sharp it but i use it on summer not on rainy days cause its gets rusty S45vn better than s30v .. but now spyderco is making rex 121 whitch is the best blade steel ever made.

I got lucky and snagged one without having to resort to eBay. The wharncliffe version os also nice and is still on my wish list but I just having found a new or fairly priced one on the used market yet.
I agree, I am a spydeco fan, have the PM2 and the tenacious, the manix 2 is a cool knife but for the money, they should not use a plastic ball bearing housing, the shaman is the next 1 I want , been " hinting " to my wife lately 😊

Not everything is meant to be a thin slicer. Something like the para 3 is designed to be more of an all around user than a thin slicer. You can't hold that against the knife when that's not the intention

Maxamet steel is the only steel i didnt need to sharp it but i use it on summer not on rainy days cause its gets rusty
S45vn better than s30v .. but now spyderco is making rex 121 whitch is the best blade steel ever made.

@@whatfreedom7 I have one of those. I show it in my most recent Spyderco collection update I believe. The tanto and wharncliffe pm2 are still some of my favorites all time
I got lucky and snagged one without having to resort to eBay. The wharncliffe version os also nice and is still on my wish list but I just having found a new or fairly priced one on the used market yet.

I agree, I am a spydeco fan, have the PM2 and the tenacious, the manix 2 is a cool knife but for the money, they should not use a plastic ball bearing housing, the shaman is the next 1 I want , been " hinting " to my wife lately 😊

Absolutely hate the para 3, even in cruwear. It makes absolutely no sense to have a 3 inch blade so thick at the spine.
Not everything is meant to be a thin slicer. Something like the para 3 is designed to be more of an all around user than a thin slicer. You can't hold that against the knife when that's not the intention
Are you kidding me? The para3 is perfect for edc, but I realize everybody has different tastes. Everybody loves the Civi FG but I absolutely hated it.

When I first started buying pocket knives I thought Spyderco knives were ugly, but somehow I turned around and prefer Spyderco knives. I love my PM2, Para3 LW, Sage5 LW, Native5 LW, Smock, Tenacious LW, Manix2 and my favorite Shaman. I’m addicted. Great video, GBall..!!
