This is really case of seeing with rose colored lenses. I promise you anything he does away from bhq is 100x better than when he was with them because he actually has total creative freedom now and doesn’t have to shill whatever that corporation tells him to
BHQ was all about the interaction between Zac and Ben. I like Zac's content, but really, it went downhill after Ben left. DCA's been eating their lunch ever since.
@@twatmunro I agree with half of your statement. In my opinion, (and I don't want to beat up on Ben) he didn't have half the personality of Zac. Think about it; Zac sat at the BHQ desk for a long time by himself after Ben left and he didn't need to banter with anyone because he was so good at "interacting" with all the people watching. This video is a perfect example: Zac held it down for an hour and a half. I would never watch a RUclips video this long! I watched the whole thing because it was entertaining and I've always been curious what those guys at BHQ were buying. Also, you are totally correct, watching Knife Banter now days is like watching paint dry. (that's harsh) (sorry Kurt and other dude with the beard!) I think BHQ should try getting those guys drunk or slipping them some mescaline.

Did my best on names I think I only missed two🤣. Everything I have I either carry or was a gift so it’s bound to have some sort of story.
I have the Boker Kompact, also, and I carry it part of the time.
I could literally listen to you. Talk about knives all day and all the cool stories behind them. I really like to go out of my way to appreciate the origin of things rather than just a finalized version of stuff that we usually end up taking for granted.

Its cool to hear your stories, some of which are from the old BHQ days. Incredibly, your presentation hasn't changed from when you were selling them which says a lot. Great video.
Loved how the first few knives had scratches and looked like you'd sharpened a carpenter pencil with one. Love the knives getting appreciated to their fullest, which involves using them. Nothing against safe queens, but most of them were made to use and I love that you do that.

Wow! Just wow. I watched this whole entire video just because of how many stories or attached to so many knives. I loved every second if this and makes me want to do my own (but have no audience and probably wont have the time to gain one) but this is truly beautiful you having an audience (congrats on 10k) to tell the se stories to and share your love of knives with is truly amazing. Thank you for all the years of BHQ and all the countless hours of entertainment. U guys made me spend a lot of money lol so i cant thank you for that. But thank for the future content as well. I carry a Kizer Sheep Dog XL as an EDC regularly. It's a great knife. It often seems excessive to people outside of the knife world, but I have often found legitimately practical benefit to the size and weight.
Anyway, thanks for the video! You've got an amazing collection, with a respectable number of things I'd never seen before, despite being a knife enthusiast and proponent for years. Please keep up the good work, and I hope your channel continues to thrive!

I rewatch this every couple of months for ideas on new knives. Just took the Sheepdog XL (in carbon fiber handle) out of the box. Instantly in love with oversized folders!

I have the same Buck knife in it's original sheath. I bought it as a collectible about 40 years ago and it's never been used. It still has the factory sharpening. Not a scratch on the sheath or knife. By listening to you talk about it, it makes me appreciate it even more. Your vids are great, TY ! 🙂

14:20 I bought the BM Puukko straight after the DBK review. Great knife. However, I sold it less than six months later because I already had a bunch of knives of similar style.

It’s always fun to see the differences in peoples collections. The variety of what strikes people and sticks around the collection. There are a lot of knives in my collection as well with a story/ history to them. Makes it more interesting and fun to talk about.

Wow !! What a collection! Thanks for sharing Zac. This truly was a treat. I remember when u got a few of these lol, the dragonfly, the purple case, mediator, Xxxxxxl m16 etc. as for my bailout I put a titanium back spacer on it from rockscale design because the glass breaker was hurting my hand lol

1:05:35 I call it "my knife pocket". That's where I preferably clip my knifes into as well, if they fit that is. Great spot for tip down carry as well.
(Weirdly enough I can open my knife less fast with the tip up carry, because I have to regrip in a way that takes more time. 😱- Actually not that weird, considering that I have my thump already in position when I pull out a tip up carry flipper, and I can just swing the handle into place; instead of having to reposition my thumb.)
One of my favorite knives in my very modest collection is an Uncle Henry Schrade folder that my grandfather had engraved with his name at some point that I was fortunate enough to acquire when he passed away. Beautiful knife and wonderful memories of a fantastic man.
