Its a heat sensor not a motion sensor. Set it down, be very still and don't move but light a match. I bet it would go off.

My analysis of this product is that the thief will steal or relocate this, then have his way with the remaining stuff at the campsite.
I've picked up a nice set of 4 lighted motion detection devices for $10 and they work great for middle of the night without a flashlight issues, and are much smaller.

@@johnvoigt67look up Cheapo brand Amazon. These run on 4x AA, but some others I've had ran on 2x C batteries, and lasted much longer
Bought tow of these. Batteries shifted around and then container for battery broke. So useless. The device did work when new but broke on first use. Went to Amazon for refund..."ITEM NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!!!" So I suppose that others found defects as well. Look for another product.

Lol, they totalled low + high to get 400 lumens? Common core math, lmao. Would this work, while I'm fishing? I had one of those '2 legged assh0l3s' approach me yesterday, while fishing solo. Need a personal motion alarm, for when I'm zoned out watching the water.

You can deter predators from entering your camp site with a portable electric bear fence. Small kit that brings huge peace of mind.

This thing is a pile of shit and a waste of money. I'm sure there are high end products that can actually provide you camp security/alarm. The packaging as you previously pointed out is a giveaway and a heads up to the quality of the product or in this case, shit within lol. Good video though bro
That thing was crappy as hell. I would need something way louder to actually wake up because I have a pretty deep sleep. That thing wouldn't even get my attention!

I'm not an outdoors kinda person. In fact I mostly stay home 24/7, but I love the content on this channel. I wanted to say thank you for making this video. I wanted you to be honest with me because i’m Deaf. I would like to know if it’s possible to put the sensor near within 35 feet of tent. Would the lumen light bright enough to wake up? because we can’t hear the alarm sounds but motion part i’m wondering. Thank you for you time to reply. Hope to hear from you. Or you have any better suggestion for other product. It’d be great.
It seems you need a motion light & vibration combo to protect yourself.

Everything is good. But 400 lumens sucks. Such a big light with only 400lumems???. This light only scared off mosquitoes. Design by idiot.

to give ti some credit ,,, it does work ... If you walk towords the front of the lamp it will turn on before 18 feed … I have 2 of them . ….. It does not do 360. .. but works well and worth it for those 2 legged animals. see other reviews also . but i will like the video

Inanimate things don’t set off motion sensors because the sensor doesn’t really detect the motion, rather it detects temperature signatures.
Motion sensors don't detect motion in the way you think. They she called PIR (pryo infrared) sensors which means the sensor looks for heat or more specifically the changes of heat levels within the field of view of the sensor. That's why when you moved the tent it does not set of the alarm. The tent itself has a temperature relative to the surroundings while humans produce body heat which will set of the alarm.

Flash light in the eyes is more to do with candela than lumens
Fair enough, I get that, but more of a perspective that is hard to convey on camera...It truly doesn't feel like a 400/300Lumen output.
@@GY6outdoors it looked like poop. And as you said it didn't look over bright and what a joke the audible alarm was. I don't think I would be spending my hard earned any time soon. A flashing light would be better and one the was brighter then the light on my g shock watch. Shame seemed like a good idea poorly executed.
What happened to the alarm? No high decibel shrill sound? Suppose the bear or intruder does not speak English?

I think a bear or creeper would run when the light and alarm come on.
But really it seems too bulky and heavy for backpacking, especially with 4 D-sized batteries. LED bulbs would provide comparable light for less power and bulk.
