    I recently put this inside the house right outside my mentally disabled son's bedroom door. Works like a charm. love it! (For some of our severely challenged kids, we want to know when they leave their rooms before they get to other things they can spill, break, or escape from. )

    Thank you very much for indicating the detection range is 40 feet! I recently had to return a different manufacture's product because they didn't indicate its range was limited to 30 feet. And the installation I needed it for - was for a range of 60 feet. My sincere thanks!!

  • @outbackeddie

    The 60' sensor detection range is impressive. I have a different driveway alert and 20' is about all I get. And the 1,000 foot range from the sensor to the base station is incredible. I have been waffling back and forth about buying this unit for about a year now but you have convinced me to go ahead and pull the trigger. Great video. Thanks.

      Hi... great review. Had a question. Can you turn the audible alarm all the way off? I can think of situations where I would like visual alerts only & absolutely zero sound. Vibrate mode would also be nice, but I don't think that's an option on this unit. Thanks in advance for the reply.

      Hi SOP, I have spent 2 DAYS trying to pair a unique MELODY to my 3rd sensor and no luck! I paired 2 sensors yest. with no problem. I switched sensors to see if the sensor was faulty but they won't pair to a THIRD unique melody either. This is important to know which sensor /ZONE was triggered. I am also connecting a 12 volt tow truck light (bc I am hard of hearing) to the 12 volt relay connector for VISUAL confirmation. Does the light need to be powered, or just wire it straight in to the relay? The wires on the light are both coiled BLACK. Which is the POS+ wire? One wire has SAFCO stamped on it. Is that the POS+ lead? Thanx....Nick. (FRUSTRATED)

    I have the Guardian Driveway Alarm with 4 sensors.
    I also have a Belkin battery back up system Revision B that comes with the same DC plug that the GDA uses.
    I know I am gonna catch flack from people who say this isn't hunting or I left electronics at home for the peace and quiet. I get plenty of peace and quiet except for the extremely loud tinnitus I hear 24/7/365 since I went deaf.
    Being handicapped I sit in a blind hunting deer. I am 95% deaf in the left ear and 75% deaf in the right ear due to an explosion & my eyesight isn't the best either now.
    I will be using the 3 sensors around a 100 yard perimeter of the deer stand this hunting season. I haven't been able to get any deer for some time now. I just started hunting in 2019. I have one sensor being used at the house at this time just to test this out and have caught coyotes walking around the property looking with the thermal scope.

    Good review and great system. I utilized the 12v output and alarm relay. The 12v output drives a small indoor siren and the relay breaks power to a external relay that drives a loud outdoor siren. The outdoor speaker draws 1amp so I used a external 12vdc power supply. My wife complains about all the switches I added to turn turn off the sirens lol. The system hasn’t false alarmed yet.

    If you live somewhere that has a driveway that is over a hill or around a curve and you constantly have to worry about pulling out because you're not sure if a car is coming, you can set up your sensors around the turn or over the hill and it will let you know if a car is coming, so long as you keep the receiver in the car with you.

      Guardline would like a list of 12v accessories that could be used. For example I would a like a sensor to trigger off a light(s) in my house and another sensor could start a sustained recording of a dog barking. I wonder what other 12v devices are available that could be useful. Also, since up to 16 sensors can be used does that mean 16 separate 12v devices can be used?

    One thing i dont like about gaurdline is i have two sensors one for the fromt and one for the back yard. When i set one sensor on 1 and the other sensor on 2,3, or 4. When the sensor goes off in the back yard it says 1. And when the sensor goes off in the front yard it also says 1. I would know if the criminal is in the front yard or the backyard. Incredible. But i got the 1/4 mile version and its the only sensor that provides good sensing quality for the distance. Thats my only complaint but Ill deal with it. 👍

      Hi Anthony, it sounds like sensor 2 was accidentally paired to zone 1. Because of that, when sensor 2 is activated on zone 1. To resolve this, reset zone 1, then re-pair your sensors one at a time. IMPORTANT: make sure your sensors are face down during this process and you only pick them up when you want to pair them.

    Only 4 minutes into the video and I'm seeing the same major deficiencies I had with my very similar units from over 10yrs ago. Namely, 4 AA batteries! next, 4 small screws! The batteries go dead way too frequent for me and what a pain to have to try to remove 4 tiny screws to change them out. Mine have been on the bench of projects for years waiting to retro-fit (solder & drill) adapter sockets so they can have small remote solar panels or external battery packs added. All they'd need is 4.8-6v. These should have been designed with bottom drop-out battery packs.

      Yes, you can adjust the height and the angle. There is a ball joint that connects the sensor to the mounting plate which allows you to swivel the sensor to your desired position. We recommend mounting the sensor 3-4' high and pointing it straight out to avoid any small animals. • @Guardline
      @Guardline 7 лет назад +1

      +Gokhan Cukurova we have plenty of customers using our sensors in Alaska and other cold climates without issue. For cold climates lithium batteries will work great. I'd avoid using alkaline batteries in cold temps as the low temperatures will drain the batteries extremely fast resulting in no signals or intermittent signals. Go with lithium batteries and you'll be fine.
      We advise against wiring the sensor as it will compromise the weatherproof casing. I hope this helps, take care. - Devin

  • @jonnyboat2
    @jonnyboat2 7 лет назад

    Gotta wonder how long the batteries will last. I guess it depends on the traffic or where you put it. I'd imagine that moving tree branches or bushes might set it off. I'm curious how trees or obstacles would affect the signal. Looks like a good product.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose

      I was over the hill, out of sight about 1000 ft away and it worked fine.

    • @Guardline
      @Guardline 7 лет назад +1

      +jonnyboat2 if you use lithium batteries, people get 1+ year out of the batteries on average. Tree branches won't set it off, it needs heat movement to activate it, so people, cars, animals will trigger the sensor. The 1/4 mile range is true range with minimal interference (trees and house walls). As you add more obstacles between the two units, your effective range will decrease a little.

      Hi +JR MTG - if you're going through through a few trees and walls there should be no loss or range, since these are all tested for realistic range. However, if you're going through a hill as Bryan did at the end of his test, or reinforced concrete walls or something similar, you will decrease the effective range of the unit.
