Loving the Rocky movies and thankfully we have many more to go!
Thank you all for the support!
Apollo Creed is Dylan from the first predator with Arnold Schwarzenegger
Just a quick treat: The baby is played by Seargeoh Stallone, Sly's actual son.
I can't wait for you two to react to Rocky 3, many considered this as the best of the Rocky series.
You're not going to wanna cover your eyes in the next two movies.
Can't wait for you guys to react to Rocky 3 and Rocky 4
Considering the first Rocky was never intended to have a sequel, it's really incredible how Stallone was able to come up with a story that felt like such a natural progression, staying true to all the same themes, so that they actually feel like a single story split in two. The further sequels, well, you'll see...
What still amazes me is that the first Rocky movie was made on a budget of $1 million, was filmed in less than a month, was nominated for 9 or 10 Oscars with 4 of those nominations for acting & it won 3 Oscars including BEST PICTURE
Yeah the sequels are not as good but Rocky is such a lovable character it still is a treat to watch any of them.
@@jamesrippy1161 and it beat 'Taxi Driver' & 'All The President's Men' to win Best Picture
IV is still my favorite Rocky, mainly because of Lundgren as Drago
All the sequels have their value. Even at the series’ lowest (Rocky V), Rocky is such an endlessly likable character that you’re always engaged.
I've seen this movie at least 50 times. but when Adrian says, "Win", it gives me goosebumps, and I get a tear in my eye. and then right afterwards, the best use of an orchestral chime sound. so iconic. so inspiring.
The only other time that was close was in another movie that I won't spoil since they probably gonna watch the whole series plus Creed 1 & 2
No doubt about it
Adrian is the best.
Followed by Mick excitingly saying "Well what are we waitin' for?!?". I love that.
Absolutely and Mickey's reaction is perfect!!
What I love about Apollo, in the first two movies especially, is he’s the antagonist but he’s not a villain. His motivations are perfectly reasonable and relatable. Even the trash talking in this one isn’t because he hates Rocky, it’s the only way to get Rocky back in the ring. If this were a different movie, Apollo could totally be the hero of it.
He always seemed like a decent person, advising kids to stay in school, being honest with Rocky that he gave him his best, etc. The trash talk was for the cameras.
All credit to Stallone for crafting his character that way
Apollo's neither a villian nor a hero. He's The. World'sHeavyweight Boxing Champ who's the best pugilist out there, and he's trying to keep his title. The trash talking is part of the game when one's in top. It's like that in any competitive sport
No matter how many times I see this movie, I always get chills when Adiran first shyly says "win" then says it again with deadly seriousness.
Adrian is a perfect example how you write a strong, feminine, female protagonist! #RelationshipGoals :)
@@michaelriddick7116 Amazon: No! Our Galadriel is a true feminist! A strong feminine character. She will cut your head with her sword!!!!
@@crvlad that show’s gonna be so Woke
@@domingorubies656 Yep..
That show ... So stunning, much brave --.--

The: "Win" from Adrian is the most heartwhealming moment in cinema history
Loved that part! Change the whole movie from that point forward!
Happy Friday!
That bell goes off and the music! “ What are we waitin fer”
"Yo Adrian I did it!" Is great too.
Her moment on the beach in III is even better though.
Stallone's acting in that final scene is just incredible.
Some of his best ever
his acting in the first half of this moving really was outstanding
Agreed, and the tears going down Adrian's face gets me every time.
I'm so hyped up for you guys to see 3 and 4. 80's Rocky was a different, but still awesome Rocky.
Rocky 4 was the highest-grossing sports film of all time, until The Blind Side (2009),
Don't sleep on 5 or Balboa.
The franchise started to lose its way with III; IV was silly, and V was terrible.
@@Kthomasritchie the Director's Cut of 4 is significantly better, in my opinion. 5 is not great, but I thought Balboa was a fitting end to the series.
@@jmiyagi12345 I really liked Balboa. It had the heart of the first 2 movies. May even prefer it to III.
Fun fact: Sylvester's brother Frank is the street singer.
-The line "this will make you the bad guy" was inspired by a writing session.
-Sugar Ray Leonard was the boxing coach.
-To this day, people run the steps of the Philadelphia museum.
Like you said, for me, it doesn’t get any better than Rocky breaking into a sprint with the music playing, one kid trying to keep up and screaming “GO, GO, GOOOO!!” Gets me every time 😂
Fun fact: that was not scripted. The kid said that and Stallone reacted.
@@Sweetish_Jeff_ How do you know? Where is there information on that, because that's interesting if it's true.
@@marcochavezjr9180 It might have been IMDB. I don’t remember.
My favorite scene is Rocky running down the street and up the steps with some 800 estimated child actor extras.
It's just such an emotional uplift when the camera pulls back and you see all those kids following him.
That scene gives me a smile every time I see this movie.
That whole montage was 100% perfect!
fun fact: the child acting laws at the time made the children crowd running scene nearly impossible, so, as a fix, almost every "kid" running besides the front line, were midgets.
@@foreignmilk Why is that fun?
There were no midgets and I know because I was there, open call on the radio and none of us were paid. Mt mother loaded up the family station wagon with me and my friends.
@@user-fs4eo I knew there was something fishy about this "fun fact".
I remember Stallone explain the whole "eye blindness" issue for Rocky, was created cause he tore his right pectoral muscle severely. And post surgery rendered that right arm useless, as it took months to heal. So he was forced to use his left, hence they wrote the blindness scare, to justify his switch to left. They had no choice 🤣
👍
I always found that decision kind of dumb cause it's pretty much dropped and never brought up in the proceeding movies
@@dragovin08 He just healed.
Greatest scene of the entire series is in this movie right here. Duke and Apollo. “Do you think i beat him?” “You got the decision.” “The truth?” “The truth is i saw you beat that man like ain’t never seen any man get beat in my life……….. and the man kept coming after you! We don’t need that kinda man in our life!”
It's so commendable how much heart and love Stallone put into the Rocky movies. He made Rocky with 11/10 charisma.
you two are probably the best reacting duo on RUclips.... You respect the art of film. Aloha and Mahalo for what you do.
Are the godfather reactions still on Patreon?
I second that emotion. They are genuine and intelligent.
You should check out popcorn in bed, its a girl reactor. She and this channel are the only two i watch.
@@johnny9000 I like to watch her 'Rocky II' reaction....
@@imuawarriors yeah she’s great 😊
I'm 46 years old and there's 2 scenes from 2 movies that have and will always send shivers down my spine from the first time I saw them. The first one is from Jurassic park when the kid sees water ripples on the cup as the trex is approaching and the second one is the sound right after Adrian says win. Those 2 always do it for me
Ditto ☺️
If anyone was wondering, Rocky would have run over 30 miles (50k) in that training montage based on the order of locations he visited in Philly. No surprise he beat Apollo being in that good of shape! Lol
I struggle to pick my favorite Rocky from the first 4. It is basically whichever one I watched most recently.
Look up the Rocky 50k Run. It's a unsupported/"fatass" 50k race in Philly that follows the route ran in the movie :-)
It's...a...montage. The scenes aren't supposed to immediately follow each other. That's the entire point of a montage. Nobody does 3 minutes of roadwork for a title fight...except Deontay Wilder.
@@ashscott6068 How boring…way to take all the fun out of a light hearted discussion.
@@brianherr2699 Hahaha😂
A couple things to know:
1. The baby is Sylvester Stallone's 2nd son, Seargeoh, who is severely autistic and has not been out in public since the 80's.
2. The big run that he does with the kids is almost impossible as it is shot from different parts of Philadelphia. It would be longer than a marathon if you went by the visual cues.
3. Yes, there is a Rocky statue at the Philadelphia Art Museum. It's generally kept at the bottom side of the steps, but occasionally they will put it at the top.
4. Those steps are a colossal pain in the ass
5. The venue where the fight was held, The Spectrum, was a nightmarish building that was prone to leaks and water damage. When the circus would be there, it was not unheard of for an animal to escape since a lot of truck bays would rust and get stuck.
6. Almost everyone in Philadelphia knows at least one person who was an extra at a Rocky fight. It's real clout for us.
7. In the first film, because the budget was so small, the final fight was filmed from the last round to the first, so they could peel off layers of makeup and save time. So they started out looking beat to hell and ended looking fresh.
8. The young man in the full body cast is actor Paul McCrane, who is most famous for his role as Dr. Robert "Rocket" Romano on "E.R."
9. We do not say "snow cones," we say "wooder ice!"
10. They spit water because they don't want to swallow blood.
Per #8, I would argue McCrane is just as famous for playing Emil Antonowsky in Robocop, the goon who gets covered in that Toxic Waste and starts to mutate before Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith) hits him with his car by accident
@@FirebirdCamaro1220 that was truly a glorious cinematic moment!
@@FirebirdCamaro1220 when i saw that as a kid that scared the livin shit out of me. Even today still hard to watch 😅
This movie takes you on a roller coaster ride. It starts out high then lowest point then ends at the ultimate high. That makes his victory so much more thrilling, satisfying, and sweet. I get tears every time I watch it.
I appreciate your ability to see nuance in characters. Some reactors have a "what a creep" attitude toward Apollo in this movie, not very deep thinkers.
JayTor2112
Apollo’s arc reaches its peak in III for me,
LOVE Rocky III. Love it.
They need to be a thinker...not a stinker!!!
Apollo reading the letters would be the equivalent of reading RUclips comments today.
Fun fact: The people singing on the sidewalk around the fire, the lead singer was played by Sylvester Stallone's brother!
I love the scene where Mick is talking to Rocky while he's in the chapel. He speaks his mind but at the end he says that if Rocky needs to be there then he's going to be with him. It solidifies that their relationship is more than trainer/boxer and more of father/son. Also, as you noted, Stallone directed this, and I directs the rest of the Rocky movies as well, something he wanted to do for the first movie but the studio wouldn't let him direct and star in it
The reason Rocky switched to being a right handed fighter is while training before the start of the film, Stallone injured his left shoulder. So, he had to rewrite the script with the "protect the eye" scenario to explain why he switched, but in reality he had a bad injury to his shoulder.
One of my favorite scenes in this is when Apollo’s trainer says quietly to Apollo “I saw you beat that man like I never seen someone get beat. And the man…kept…coming…after you. We don’t need that kind of man on our life, baby.”
Such a fantastic scene and Apollo is truly grateful for him basically telling him he doesn’t think he can beat him again. It seemed to be just the motivation he needed.
"Rocky, do you think you have brain damage?"
"I dunno, I don't see any."
Love this movie for a personal reason, grew up just outside of Philly and I was one of those kids chasing Rocky through the streets!!
Your reaction is absolute gold. Sylvester Stallone would probably cry. Rocky II is the best Rocky, because it's all the things you said. I saw it when I was 9 years old when it was released in theaters and other than Superman II, I cannot remember an audience going so absolutely crazy in the theater. That ending scene was beyond. Also, not often expressed opinion, Sylvester Stallone is a TRUE romantic.
Reporter: Do you have anything derogatory to say about Apollo?
Rocky: Yea..He's Great!
Loved these movies..Loved your reactions, Thank you
One of the best sequels that doesn't get included in that list often enough. It continues the story and characters' development, and the fighting strategy is really smart.
I literally cry when he's running through the Italian market and all the kids start running with him. What a scene. 🔥🔥
“I saw you beat him worse than anyone I’ve ever seen before, and the man kept coming.”
The "Win" from Adrian and the epic montage with the kids running with him makes me tear up everytime I see it. So excited for your next reactions to Rocky III and IV!🥊
You guys have to understand Rocky in boxing terms is a brawler once all the techniques he's learned goes away and he returns to brawler style.Hence why he does cover up basically he has good chin can take a punch
Can't wait for you guys to watch 3 & 4!
"Pain"
This is probably one of your best reactions! I enjoyed your heartfelt commentaries and genuine reactions so much! I was crying with you, cheering with you and discovering subtle treats that I had missed when I saw this movie many years ago. I could watch your clever, fun reaction many times and enjoy it as the first time! You guys compliment each other and are so freacking original!!! Absolutely love your honesty and how much you enjoy your gig! Thank you!
Apollo is so fucking good.
I love that Slys brother was in the first and second movies. :)
YES! LETS GO!~!!!!!!! Yeah, after a fight, nobody thinks about us laying in a hospital bed getting healed up. They just think about the fight coming up and during, then after, they talk about who was the best, and then nothing. No thoughts to our recovery. But that's ok, we do it to entertain and its what we are/were good at. One thing that this movie is good at, is making you feel beat down WITH Rocky and Adrian. You feel demoralized. You feel bad for good people being beat down. Its great at making you feel deeply for the characters.
Another terrific reaction, thank you! You nailed Apollo's arc -- he's not the villain, he's the antagonist. One qualm -- Apollo's legacy was anything but destroyed... keep watching the series, you'll see! :) Thanks, again...
"Rocky II" was written as a mirror of the first fight... And it works...
“How’d Mickey catch him?!!” Bruh I’m dead!!! 🤣🤣🤣 you guys are awesome!!
2:52 If you know the layout of Philly, then you can see that the ambulance is basically going in circles!
Rocky has heart and he fights with his heart always. If his heart isn't in it then he can't get his head in the game. This is a recurring theme throughout all the films. Rocky always has heart. 😊💜
4:08 "His hospital bill is gonna take up all his earnings."
Fortunately, that's incorrect. The Boxing Commission covers all hospital treatment following the fights.
I grew up on these movies. It’s my great pleasure to watch people see them for the first time.
I enjoyed your reactions and comments here to "ROCKY 2" so much and I agree with most of what you both said.... this was great! The only reasons I did not find the first hour and 30min. in as sad as you both mentioned it was.... well within the first hour of "ROCKY 2" was when Rocky proposed marriage to Adrian , seeing them buy their first home and then the birth of Rocky's son.... are just some of the great things that happened in the first hour . For me the hardest part of watching "ROCKY 2" was Adrian in the hospital with Rocky giving her that speech of how she just needed her rest.... I cry every time I watch that scene .
Then she wakes up and tells Rocky to win.... I exhale every time .
My favorite scene was when Rocky proposed to Adrian.... for me that is my favorite marriage proposal in movie history . Then the ending after that fight.... Apollo rubbed his hand on Rocky's head.... he knew Rocky had won fair and square . This is my favorite Rocky movie in the whole franchise.... Rocky 3 is my least favorite . The whole franchise has something special in each one to offer . I know that you both are going to continue on with the other ROCKY movies so I will not mention anything else . I am a very happy subscriber to TBR Schmitt's channel . Thank you both.
The line I love in this movie is from Apollo’s trainer Duke. I’ll get the quote wrong but, “I saw him get beaten like no one I’ve seen before, and the man kept coming after you!”
A bit of trivia for u guys. Their baby with that great head of hair was Sylvester’s real life newborn son Seargeoh…🥊
"I dont know, I should have stayed in school or sumthin." Such wise words from a man who practically went to war (prelude to Rocky IV). These films were my fav when i was a kid growing up... and a hard life lesson in the later films.
I was 13 when I saw this in a packed movie theater full of kids in Brooklyn. When Adrian tells him to win the whole place explode with the loudest scream you can possible imagine. Great moment. Great film.
Growing up in the 80s, competing in boxing and kickboxing, rocky 4 was my absolute favorite. Now that I'm in my 40s, married with kids, Rocky 1 and 2 are now my most favorite. But you need all 8 films to truly walk in his shoes.
I appreciate 1 and 2 as a husband, 3 as a beaten man, 4 as a patriot, 5 and 6 as a father. The speech in 6 is something I have on the wall in my gym.
Without a doubt the best reacting couple on RUclips, all these iconic movies I’ve seen so many times, you guys add something to the experience for me and that’s saying alot. Keep up the great job 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It's 5:45 a.m. and I'm getting ready for work. You guys got me feeling like I'm watching a movie for the first time even though I've seen it about a hundred times. 😅
I love, love, love Rocky II. It's kind of an unsung classic. It's not the original in terms of iconic moments, and it doesn't have the Hollywood vibe of the third, or the 1980s "Cold War" patriotism of the 4th (we'll stop there, for now), but it's so warm and there is so much going on. Rocky becomes a father. He spends most of the movie reassessing himself and by his wife's side, rather than the standard formula we see in the others. I and II are really a great pair of films!
Loved the reaction to this. Something I always go back to with this film in particular with the franchise is just how good the supporting actors are in this. I mean the leads are all fantastic, but the supporting actors in this film help elevate this movie. Also, the plot line they give Apollo makes him a relatable antagonist, which I love because he could have so easily been a two-dimensional character. Stallone has had hits and misses in his career (like any artist), but he was definitely at his artistic peak with this one.
The nuance of this and the first film are exactly why I think the franchise declined afterward. In the third & fourth films they did go the easy route and created two-dimensional characters for Americans to root against. It's like they took the heart out & replaced it with empty jingoism.
@@goreyfantod5213 Right. Although I will say making Clubber Lang two-dimensional works as a counter to Apollo coming at it from Rocky's POV. Making Clubber that driven challenger works more than what they did with Drago. They almost predicted Tyson by five years.
Hi guys. I’ve been binge watching your reactions these past few weeks, you guys are awesome. Your reactions are one of my favorites, definitely. I have my favorite scenes in some movies, it’s great to see you both comment and enjoying on what you see. Much love from Dominican Republic
Despite having seen this movie numerous times throughout the years; I just recently realized that the kid in the full body cast @ 4:48 is played by Paul McCrane.
Who would, among other things, go on to play Emil; the goon who ran the van into the vat of toxic waste in Robocop.
Rocky 1 and 2 are so cohesive, they feel like one 3-hour film.
It had no comparison
One thing that never gets old is the realization that Rocky isn't much of a boxer, just a street brawler. You're not the only people that have watched this movie that shouted at Rocky to get his hands up to protect his head...something every boxer learns early on. I can't help but wonder if Stallone neglected to bring anyone on to the set to teach him the basics because I can't think of any boxer that would repeatedly walk right into punch after punch with his hands down.
Yes, he takes a beating and keeps getting back up. The theme of the entire series. I can’t wait til you get to “the speech” to his grown son in Rocky Balboa
Just wanted to say I really enjoy your reviews (reactions) over any other reactor. You both have such thoughtful and intelligent opinions, and two pieces of a puzzle. Having a great time watching along with you. Great job!!
I love all of the Rocky movies, but this will always be my favorite. When Adrienne says "Win!" I almost tear up. Man I love this movie!
James Rolfe (AVGN, cinemassacre) did a documentary called "Rocky jumped a park bench" where he traces all the locations in Philadelphia where they shot Rocky and Rocky II.
It is a true labor of love from a cinephile who grew up in Philly.
Check it out if you can find it. I don't think it's on youtube anymore unfortunately.
The vibe yall get from Rocky I get from you both. At least from what I've seen on this channel. Very wholesome.
Adrian is the most loyal and supportive wife. Her line "Win" is really about her knowing that Rocky is not gonna back down from the fight and if that's something she cant control, she wants him to at least win. Poetry, guys.
Rocky IV, she becomes the most famous wet blanket in movie history....
Rocky 2 is my favorite of all the Rocky and Creed films! I have seen all the films multiple times and Rocky 2 in my opinion is better than the original. I was 4 years old when the movie came out. From his realization that he may be washed up, to Apollo calling him out on TV, to Adrian’s coma. And with the kids running with him up the steps. And Adrian tearfully saying I love you. Such a good movie!!
The movie theater in 1979 absolutely erupted when they both went down. We all jumped to our feet screaming “get up Rocky!!!” An unforgettable moment from my childhood that has never been matched by another movie.
15:00 I love how Rocky is so friendly, and doesn't let Apollo provoke him the least bit. All Apollo can do is storm off, looking like an asshole.
What is amazing about this movie is that even though it's called ROCKY and there are multiple sequels, you still seemed amazed that he won at the end. Imagine the investment into the movie that takes.
The condom joke is one of my favorite moments in film history!
Great reaction as always, guys. One thing to keep in mind with sequels in the 70's...we went 2-3 years between those movies and had no home video, so the filmmakers had to give us quite the reminder of what happened in the previous film.
Saw this in theaters and the "I never use em" line got one of the biggest laughs of the movie IIRC. Rocky was indeed relatively "innocent" for the tough neighborhood he came from!
The scene were rocky is sparring his partner, his name is Roberto Duran A Panamanian former professional boxer who competed from 1968 to 2001. They'd called him manos de piedra in Spanish it means Hands of Stone.
Great reaction! I have the Rocky movie set,. Seen 100 of times,. I know what's coming,. Watching you react made me feel like watching first time♥️♥️♥️. Thanks😉
You're not the only ones yelling at Rocky to get his hands up. With everything we know about CTE and brain trauma now, these fights scenes friggin' kill me. 😨
One wrong punch really can forever alter a fighter. Prichard Colón was a young boxer that took an illegal punch during a fight and became severely brain damaged resulting in paralysis and needs professional care for daily activities now. Tragic.
Something most people don't know is that the old school bare knuckle boxing actually had a lower risk of brain damage for fighters. Fighters would quite during matches because their hands got too hurt or out right broke their own bones but when they adopted gloves they would push further resulting in greater risk to the the head. Trying to be less brutal brought about greater risk for long term harm.
Also, in these movies the boxers barely ever block punches. It works to be cinematic but they just couldn’t handle so many direct full impact blows to the head and stay conscious. Maybe not even stay alive.
This was a seminal movie for me growing up in the early 80s when it played on HBO. I must have watched this 100 times. As much I I truly enjoyed watching you guys watch the first movie, I have been waiting for you to get to my fav Rocky II. Great video you two! :-)
You guys are gonna LOVE Rocky III.
It’s my second favourite Rocky film and has one of the best gags about the silliness of racism, ever!
To be honest, from all the Rocky movies this one is my favorite(all of them are good), but this one is such a great one and that last fight, oh man... Amazing!
Back in the day, fighting systems meant for practical self defense espoused various hand positions with different theoretical advantages, but with popularity of MMA, people have realized that when somebody who knows what they're doing really throws a punch , you have very little time to react (decades ago, Bruce Lee, as fast as he was, said that if someone within range threw a punch with absolutely no telegraphing, even he wouldn't be able to react quickly enough to block it), so you keep your hands close to what you want to protect and where they're already in the way of an incoming punch.
That young kid in the body cast is the guy in Robocop that gets doused in toxic waste and ran over by Clarence. I laughed when I noticed last time I watched this.
8:52 Both of Stallone's own sons play Rocky's son in II and V.
Can't wait for your Rocky 3 reaction! It's the Rocky franchise at it's peak and the BEST Rocky film imo. If you like Apollo, you're in for a treat!
No that's Rocky 4. Rocky 3 is one of the weakest but each to their own.
You'd think they'd realize quick that Rocky isn't the best reader and just get him to memorize it. Sure, you can burn through film and frustrate everyone all day, or just give Adrian an hour with him while everyone has a smoke break or chills at craft services or shoot some b-roll.
Or give him the script in advance. I think this was a very fly by night operation they were running.
You are right considering in the montage that plays with the "Eye of the Tiger" in Rocky III shows him doing an American Express commercial and he does just fine.
In part 3 he has to deal with being the champ and super famous and super rich.. which can be a dangerous thing. While there is always boxing... Stallone always writes underlining stories of all the characters... 3 has loss, an actual villian, Adrian gets really strong and Rocky finds a surprising friend. Incredible series... I hope we watch Rocky III sooner that later!!
I really like the both of your commentaries. And I like how you took note when he threw Apoolo back into the corner. But that little scene is often way under appreciated. You have to be really paying attention because that little part of that scene was deliberate. In it it showed how amazingly and unexpectedly strong Rock had become. During the introduction for the fight the announcemer says Apollo weigh I believe 226 Lbs. That means Rock lifted and trew Apollo a 226 pound man 3 feet into the corner with one arm.
This was due to Rock being stronger than in his first fight. His working at the meat plant deadlifting and carrying half a cow around the factory. He buled up. His trading later with Micky was to gain speed and learning to fight right handed. Rocky needed to rebuild his speed and endurance. They did very little strength training and every biddy shot on Apollo from Rocky lifted him slightly. His absorbing several shots from Apollo waiting for Apollo'sarms to tire then Rocky throw his punishing haymakers...he truly was As Micky described a tank. 😊
Greatness! I love that you guys didn’t even know the outcome of the matches in the first film and this. Awesome to watch with you.
I absolutely love your commentary you hit it right on the head and if you pay attention to a speech that Rocky makes and one of the later movies everything you guys have pointed out will make perfect sense I am so excited about seeing you watch the next ones also another great fighting movie with a lot of heart I would highly recommend the movie warrior
Fantastic reaction and great analysis. The boxing match was quite intense and like you two, I wish Rocky would put his hands up more. How could anyone take a beating like that? The slow motion shots of Apollo pounding Rocky’s head were graphic. You could feel your own brain rattling around.
I felt sympathy for Apollo as well since his pride was really wounded. He was having to endure unnecessary hate mail and his family was subject to negative criticism to an extent. This is probably my favorite entry of the whole series. It was great writing and solid acting by the whole cast.
Fun fact! during the scene with all the kids running with Stallone, I wasn't one of them.
@Shamimul Haque Wow! Small world!
Here we go , been looking forward to this. You guys with Rocky 2 tonight and Cassie and her sister with Rocky 4 tomorrow. I love it!
Hey guys! Check out “RUDY” (1993). Great inspirational Football movie!! 🏈🍀
Something tells me Rocky IV is going to be a hell of a lot more topical than you may have expected.
Keep watching! Love the reactions. The beauty of Rocky is one month your fav may be Rocky II, a month later it's Rocky III, then something happens in your life and you need to watch Rocky (1st one)...still my fav couple in cinema...
40:15 - "Please, stop! You're scaring me!", and Rocky looking at him with his bleeding eyes hahaha
The one Rocky movie that has always made me 😭. Probably the best Rocky movie.
I love all of the Rocky movies (I include the Creed movies in the Rocky anthology). I own all of them on dvd. I love the scene in which Mick says to Rocky: "I think we oughtta knock his block off!" Burgess Meredith was a wonderful actor. I remember when he also played Penguin in the 1960s Batman tv series. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the rest of the Rocky films.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but the guy in the leather jacket singing acapella by the fire is Sylvester's real life brother Frank Stallone.
I love these movies so much!!! Such emotional intensity!! The training sequences are amazing and all kids running with ROCKY was so COOL!!!!
Love the title "Redemption" we can hear in it... Conti is really brilliant to create and ameliorate some melodies (The new "Gonna Fly Now" is so intense... this end... So powerfull)... Concerning the movie, great story again... Well done, Sylvester ! "You're gonna eat lightnin'; you're gonna crap thunder."
I love how Rocky sells the car and everything else, but Butkus still has his diamond collar.
