This 1987 version of Empty Rooms has, what I believe to be, the BEST guitar SOLO of all time. Actually, every note of the 11+ minutes is phenomenal. I've been a pro-musician since 1973, and honestly I've never heard better -- Live or in the Studio. Amongst my other favorite guitar solos are: - Jimmy Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower (CD) - Eric Clapton - Old Love (Live June 30, 1999) - Johnny Winter - It's my own fault (CD with Rick Derringer) - David Gilmour - On an Island (Live with Crosby & Nash on background vocals)
Everytime I hear Gary Moore, the thought always comes to me that he very well could have been the finest and most refined guitarist ever. David Gilmour is of course one of them but I wonder if Gary wasn’t even better. To me his feel for the guitar, perfection in every note and full control over every sound has to be unmatched. His playing was perfect in every way.
Gary Moore is one of the best gitar Players. Please Listen also the Messiah come again. That is Really magic. I’ll never have seen this before. So Great. 😅
This whole concert is an absolute masterpiece. You can literally react to EVERY song of this concert and you wouldn’t do anything wrong. It’s my absolute favorite live concert, I have it on CD and DVD, unfortunately not in perfect Blu-Ray quality but who cares! I will treasure it to the day I die! But if you do be aware of “Thunder Rising”, “All messed up” & “Rockin’ every night”, because your eyes and ears will fall out! 😁😁
Since the 80's, my favorite band: Pink Floyd, and my favorite guitarist: Gary Moore. This is the first time I ever heard someone compare Gary and David, and you're absolutely right!!! Their heartfelt, stunning, beautiful guitar solos are so similar. This comparison made me very emotional. Thank you for playing the great Gary Moore.

You guys need to do a MUCH DEEPER DIVE on Gary Moore. And regardless of what his blues fans will tell you to listen to, he was a PHENOMENAL HEAVY ROCK/METAL guitarist. Go PRE-1990. Like this track.
Blessed to have seen Gary back in the 80's in a small venue. The most intense, intimate experience I've had at a concert. Hope you explore more of his work...
Parisienne Walkways and Still Got the Blues are definitely worth a listen, among many others. Such a tragedy that Gary Moore died. I remember seeing him in Glasgow in 1999, in Barrowlands. I was about 10ft from the stage, and from a full Marshall stack. I had ringing in my right ear for about 3 months. Totally worth it.
Guys love that you're discovering music we grew up with. A lot of these talented people are overlooked by todays people. We lived it and know how special this was. If you want a good Gary Moore, check out One Night In Dublin. Put on Parisienne Walkways and get ready to strap yourself in. Watching you guys groove on this makes me realize why I was so blown away back in the day. Gary was sadly very overlooked and belongs with the greats.Enjoy.

Great seeing new people react to this gem. This is still my all time favourite guitar solo and Gary Moore was the reason I started playing guitar. He was legendary!
The guitars were custom built Charvel Stratocasters; built by Wayne Charvel & Grover Jackson. There is actually a whole story about those guitars as told by Grover Jackson himself. Gary had a red one (in this video) and an exact duplicate in white, which was also used elsewhere in this same concert.
Absolutely love Gary Moore. Did not know about him until he put out the Still Got the Blues for You album and been loving his music ever since. One of the greatest guitar players ever! RIP Gary!

He had his own signature model Les Paul, based on his vintage guitar, previously owned by Peter Green.
I've been in love with Gary Moore's music since the mid-1970s -- and this live version of 'Empty Rooms' isn't even the best of his tracks, _or the best version of this song._ You have ahead of you a very rich and very extensive Gary Moore back catalogue to get into. My go to solo how he makes that guitar cry and scream, what a legacy, I saw my fave band Kiss back in 2019 , best show I have eer seen bar none, one he'll of a night, I mention this because back in Stockholm that night with Gary playing on drums was Kiss drummer Eric Singer, I only found that out last month😉😄
The drummer on this version is Eric Singer (KISS) but guys...this is far from his best song...check out Victims of The Future, Reach For The Sky, Cold Hearted, Out In The Fields and his cover of Shapes of Things is legendary.
Great reaction. Check out Gary doing Red House by Hendrix at the Stratpack concert in Wembley. Amazing. Was there. I remember a long pause after he played (not shown in the videos) ...guess all were stunned....before a long standing ovation.
As good as this is, I am totally gutted that this was your introduction to Gary Moore. Live versions of Still Got The Blues, Parisienne Walkways or The Messiah will Come Again would have been even better!!!

My husband and I are in love with it via RUclips and are dying to visit there someday. A few more years till retirement and then we're off! So much history there! Yes, send me some music to check out. Thanks!
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 Hiya, I'm from a lil place called Helsby in England.
Don't know what genre you're into, so I'll give you a general run on my interests.
Pink Floyd ❤❤ if you haven't seen Comfortably Numb at the Pulse concert..😳😱🤮
Iron Maiden
Queensryche ❤
Journey
Asia
Most of these you might be familiar with...
Then again⬇️
Mostly Autumn
Gary Moore ; Parisienne Walkways
Ten
Foreigner
If you only like one track from any one group, I'll be a happy bunny...
Take care ,
Ste
@@stevehughes6627 I'm having trouble with my mouse and my entire comment was erased. I LOVE Pink Floyd and Journey and of course Foreigner. I've heard some Iron Maiden and Queensryche, but couldn't name a song if my life depended on it. The rest...send me a song or two to start with and I would gladly listen. The '70s still has a hook in me and keeps reeling me in but I'm open now more than ever to new music. This right here is what's so great. Music brings people together. Thank you so much! You made me smile! Now, tell me about Helsby. Is it near a canal? I love the narrowboats and I love the history and architecture of those towns. I watch Richard Vobes take walks all over England and lots of Narrowboating channels. Peace friend! Tammie
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 There is the Manchester Ship Canal, which uou can see from the top of Helsby Hill. From there you can see for miles, esp down the River Mersey and Liverpool. Frodsham Hill is also only a mile away; apart from the many sandstone quarries there, it's claim to fame is an Iron age hillfort.
Cheshire - the county it's in - is a beautiful and historic county.
My birthtown of Chester was built by the Romans, and has the only complete set of city walls in the UK.
Deffo recommend coming here!
I'll send sample tracks as and when I can; do you like your music heavy or lighter like this one?
I'll send a mix of both?
Take care over there 😎
Parsienne walkways live,so damn good
The latest just before he is no longer with us RIP Gary ❤️
Please do one to his Parisienne Walkways. One of the most beautiful songs ever written with sublime guitar playing. If you do the live one you also get one of the longest held notes as a bonus!
Separate ways ,with the extended intro live and the messiah will come again. You won’t be disappointed!
.... and Gary's band in 1987: Bob Daisley (Ozzy; Sabbath; Rainbow; Heep); Eric Singer (Kiss; Alice; Sabbath; Brian May); Neil Carter (UFO).
Your getting there
Do more Gary Moore guys please 🙏 it will change your life
Get your headphones on, close your eyes, and be transported to a different and fantastic place. Same with all great music.
P.S.:
What a colossus song, and what a stupendous performance!
Out in the fields with Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore is a belter.
The drummer on this version is Eric Singer (KISS) but guys...this is far from his best song...check out Victims of The Future, Reach For The Sky, Cold Hearted, Out In The Fields and his cover of Shapes of Things is legendary.
Mr Gary Moore from Belfast Northern Ireland. Sadly missed.!
The Messiah Will Come Again live. 🎸🤘
Gary Moore there is no better guitarist RIP the master
I beg of you. React to No reason to cry by Gary Moore. We will cry together. Love you guys.
Great reaction. Check out Gary doing Red House by Hendrix at the Stratpack concert in Wembley. Amazing. Was there. I remember a long pause after he played (not shown in the videos) ...guess all were stunned....before a long standing ovation.
You're feeling it!
Amazing guitar player
Gary Moore does the "chewing a wasp" face better than almost anyone else.
As good as this is, I am totally gutted that this was your introduction to Gary Moore. Live versions of Still Got The Blues, Parisienne Walkways or The Messiah will Come Again would have been even better!!!
Gary's cover of Jimi Hendrix Red House you will love!! A must for you :-)
