The difference between Gary Moore and every other guitarist, you can feel it physically when Gary plays.
that´s so true, I don´t know any other that can do that. No only physically, but Gary goes right into my soul and hearth and yes, also right now, I know this song for decades, but it just gave me goosebumps all over and also I could feel where my heart is right now. Man this guy was so special! RIP Gary.
Peter Green
Wonderful, he was an exceptional talent very sadly gone too soon. Check out his duet with BB King "The Thrill Has Gone" pure genius by both of them
Wish I could have seen Gary Moore, and Randy Roads together on one stage together,....imagine that...strange they didn't!!!
His most famous one is PARISIAN WALKWAYS
Do "In the fields" Gary Moore and Phil lynott of thin Lizzy
The GREATEST and I mean the GREATEST guitarist that has walked the planet.
The only player that gives me chills every time I listen to him.
There are some fantastic players around who are also my favourites but this man is No1 in my opinion.
Gary was a master at changing the mood and dynamic in a song. You could feel it. He had amazing tone, speed mixed with finesse and touch. No other like him
The boss, the king. Call him whatever, but he is the most underated guitarst in the world. For me he is the greatest ever.
Was - unfortunately.
The bass player in this video, Bob Daisley, has worked with many great guitar players over his many years of rocking on this planet. He was asked in an interview about Gary's playing, his reply was "Gary was brilliant, he was the Jack Of All Trades, and Master Of Them All of guitar players". There's live footage on here of his days in Colosseum II (1977/78), the track The Inquisition is just mind blowing. Gary Moore and Scott Gorham playing Black Rose live will make smile so much, you can feel the love for their old friend Phil Lynott in their playing, and from the crowd. Watching you seeing his playing for first time, is just like when I was a teenager and went to his concerts. Keep going with Gary's career buddy, it's a rabbit hole of musical genius.
Love Gary Moore his whole Corridors of Power album is classic, plus his work with Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy makes him Hall of Fame worthy... fantastic on so many levels.
He also played on Greg Lake’s solo albums.
Gary sings and his guitar sings too. True blues legend. RIP
He’s the best of all time for me. His last recorded performance a few months before he sadly passed was Live at Montreux in 2010. His rendition of Parisienne Walkways was a truly virtuoso performance and, in my view, his best ever.
You have to check out the live version of the Messiah Will Come Again. Gary Moore is one of the greatest guitarist.
Gary still speaks to us like many of the hallowed musicians through time.
For me, this is the best and emotional guitar solo of all time!
It always brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.
Thank you for uploding this video. I was there in stockholm isstadion spring 25 th of april 1987. 23 years old. It was a magic evening. 🎸
2010 was a rough year... We lost Gary Moore... Ronnie James Dio... and Peter Steele (bassist/vocalist of Type O Negative)... R.I.P.
Thank you for this video. I am a guitar player since 1968. My favorite electric guitar players are Jimi Hendrix and Gary Moore. They are so much more than guitar players. Song writers, vocalists, improvisational masters and more, that changed music in their time and will continue to do so in the future.
A lot of guys never really followed Gary Moore ..I’m 68 a guitarist…I caught on in the 80’s…his version of Hendrix “red house”..with the Stratocaster is something to behold ..check it out if u haven’t already…nice channel 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Check out Shape of Things. A live version would be good maybe even from the same concert? I believe it's Stockholm isn't it?
Thanks for the great review.
From what I understood, he left us in an empty hotel room (now I stand corrected), but I hope he got to feel all the love we felt for him. Forever... With Love... 🙏❤
Que hermosas palabras bro... Saludos desde Argentina
He was with his girlfriend when he died.
@@grethe1956 I stand corrected 🙏🤘
When you close your eyes and hear the perfection with which he plays. The guitar sings the sweetest notes you will ever hear. His vibrato technique is unsurpassed. And then he sings too! In one hundred years people will look back in wonder and awe. There will never be another like him. I consider myself blessed to have seen him play live a number of times over my life. To have lived as Moore, Clapton, Green, Kossoff, and Young graced the boards is unique and will never be repeated.
I agree. Gary used several styles of vibrato and knew just which style to use, and when to use it. I won't mention names, but the guitarists that use that wide, in-your-face vibrato technique on everything just irk me to no end.
💔🙏💯
One of my favorites by Gary - he was an exceptional player and performer. Great lyrics
I honestly think that this is his best. And that's saying something.
The beginning of the song, if we didn't know better, sounds just like Jeff Beck. Very few guitarists can play at this level of precision. I have the CD "We Want Moore" and this is the last track on that live album. I've never seen this performance. Kudos! I've hit the subscribe button just because of it.
Beck was one of his idols.
You must listen and watch Gary's version of The Messiah Will Come Again 1990 Montreau Jazz Festival - 10 minutes of the best guitar playing you will ever witness.
You can feel the passion . Still got the blues is amazing as well
Not only a master guitar slinger, his vocals are also awesome and bump up the experience.
And THAT is how you play guitar....
To me, Gary will always be the greatest. The way he plays guitar touches my soul. Please check out Gary's rendition of 'The Messiah Will Come Again' As far as I am concerned it is the most sublime piece of guitaristry ever recorded. That guitar will sing to you, scream at you and touch you to the core.
Amen
I recently discover Gary Moore. From my humble point of view he is, along with Ray Vaughan, the best guitar blues player. Moreover, he also played metal and jazz.
In terms of energy was similar to SRV. But his vibrato, vocals, guitar technique and emotion were even superior. Simply amazing!
Thank you SO much for reviewing this masterpiece! I don't think there has ever been another guitarist that poured so much feeling into his guitar as Gary. Not only could he play slow, melodic, hauntingly-beautiful phrasing, but his speed was terrifying, and he knew just when to use it. He is truly legendary.
You don’t have to react but listen to the whole cd of ‘Dark Days In Paradise’. Dim the lights, it has a certain mood. Your welcome
One of my all time favorite solos ever
check out The Messiah Will Come Again
He can make a guitar SANG more than anyone
I miss him he was on of the best a great man
Parisienne Walkways live 13 mins version live in Dublin just awesome- one of my top 3 guitar solos of all time - other worldly beauty!!!
The greatest one ever 🙏🙏. 🎸🎸🎸. 💯💯💯💯. 🇬🇧🇬🇧 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌✌✌
Only the very best notes!
Nice selection Biz. Luv Gary Moore! This one has a little Pink Floyd influence.
This man made my life so much richer! Love you for all times Gary!
I'm not a fan of Gary Moore...I'm a DISCIPLE!!...Starred listening to him in 1982 when I was in high school and I STILL consider him to be one of my biggest influences on guitar!!...
Thanks bud for listening and appreciating without interruption to my all time favourite guitarist playing in the form of his life, for me the greatest, I'm sixty five and sitting now playing along with him and will until I die.
That is so good and the fact that it's live makes it that much better.
You just have to see Gary play Red house at fenders 50th anniversary concert. That performance is absolutely mind blowing! It's hear on YT.
Thank you for digging into Gary Moore,he's one if the greatest ever. Can you PLEASE do "I Can't Wait Until Tomorrow" next I swear you will not be disappointed.
I swear if you had put Gary on a stage and just left him to it he would have carried on like this for hours. He was phenomenal and sadly underrated. I never understood why. I saw him live in London when he toured with BB King. Lovely man 💔
This was the first I heard from Gary and I was hooked.
Gary Moore doing Red House live kills. Check it out
10:54
The guitar is crying.
u kno its an old video because he is playing a Strat
I've never heard this song before in my entire life, but it's really good and I'm digging the guitar a lot! I don't know how I missed it except it looks like it's from the '80s and that would explain it. All I can say is I was missing out by being stuck in my ways. Wow! I think this ones going in my playlist.
Yes same here. Reminds me of the emotion when David Gilmour plays.
@@vickiconley3638 My two favourite guitarists, pure feel.
And down the rabbit hole you go... it's a really good trip!
@@BlueBarchetta67 🤫Peter Green was one of Gary's idols...That's Peter's guitar (greenie) Gary's playing...👋😎👍
@@amjrpain919 Yes, indeed it was. I have been lucky enough to see him play it many over the years. Peter Green was a one off, just like Gary and Rory. They are a dying breed, sadly so.
Now check out his rockin side; White Knuckles/Rockin and Rollin, Victims Of The Future, and Hiroshima.
I don't know why she's gone either, but she damn sure didn't leave him for a better guitar player. Excellent choice from a stellar musician. Been listening to GM for over 40 years. Delighted to see you coming along, too. Cheers!
The bass player is Bob Daisley, one of the legends of rock and metal.
He wrote a book about his years with Ozzy, Gary Moore and many other bands that he was a member of.
I'd hope many people get this book.
He was also playing for Ozzy while Randy Rhodes was alive.
The best concert of Gary Moore was in London 92. That was awesome!! Look for that. He played with b.b. King...
ha I was going to say looks like Bob Daisley ....cool
If you've heard one Gary Moore solo you've heard them all.
Before Moore played with Thin Lizzy, he played in a somewhat popular band called, SKID ROW". I think it was with some of his friends from Ireland.
You should have picked the Montreux 2010 concert for this song. What a shame!
Damnit...
When my daughter phoned me and told me Gary Moore had passed away at just 58 I was broken 💔...saw him many times and he inspired me to play my self... although I could never get close to his playing!! Still miss you you big man 💕🍀🎶🎸🎵
Criminally underrated musician!
The four minute solo in the middle is outstanding ! Best ever. Finally being recognised over the pond, too late for Gary now, of course.
The man who inspired me to pick up a guitar. This is my favourite performance from him. That whole concert was absolute fire!
Us Irish have loved Gary Moore for years; - love that YOU love him now! R.I.P. Gary
No other guitarist had the pure emotion that Gary had!
Shapes of things: Live in Emerald isle. Incredible
gary moore...he is real guitar maestro..and best of the best !!
Miss Gary Moore..... what a talent...He felt every note and had a great voice too...
Gary mastered Rock and the Blues.. He was also an excellent progressive/Fusion guitarist (Colloseum II).. I love his Rock period.. "Black Rose" with Thin Lizzy, or great solo works.. "Shapes of Things", "Victims Of the Future", "Murder In the Skies", "Back In the Streets".. all outstanding Live versions available.. thanks.
Gary should be mentioned with the great players like Slow Hand EC, Beck, Page, Hendrix, Gilmore, etc. but never got the recognition. THE GOAT.
All guitar players know how good he was. Most were influenced by him. John Sykes, Rhandy Rhodes, Joe bonamassa to name a few. They all rate him.
I've been a fan since circa 1986 when I first played Parisienne walkways on a jukebox in a local bar in my hometown in Ireland. I played it about 6 or 7 times that night. Love that song.
Who compiles these stupid polls of the best 20 guitarists of all time and gary moore is not even mentioned im starting to think they put in who is popular NOT WHO CAN PLAY .i say gary four time and his playing is second to no one no one brings emotions from inside and makes those feelings known on the frets..HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST AND NOT IN JUST ONE STYLE...REST IN PEACE GARY WE ALL MISS YOU😢
Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher two of the best guitarists and both from little old Ireland ☘️
As all are dead but two on my previous list I’ll make another of young hopefuls that I think could be greats one day
1. JARED JAMES NICHOLS.
2. LISA X
3 .JACK FROM PEACH GUITARS.
4.TOBY LEE.
Yes! This the ONE! You have answered my prayer.
I was and continue to be a fan of Gary moore from his thin Lizzy days G Force and through his blues phase where he really spread his musical wings for me he is the worlds greatest blues/rock guitarist bar none also Gary was a huge fan of Irish blues guitar god RORY GALLAGHER we will never see his kind again…the closest we have now is JOE BONAMASSA but I this he tries too hard to be an Everyman guitarist for my personal list of the greats of guitar are as follows
1.GARY MOORE.
2.RORY GALLAGHER.
3.PAUL KOSSOF.
4.BILL NELSON.
5.HANK B MARVIN.
6.STEVIE RAY VAUGHN.
Malaysia band FTG cover that song ..
omg you've got this wrong your video is of JeffBeck!!!
great guitarist ! i was 31 when that came out ! Hey ! you should try Jeff Beck !
Gary Moore remains my number one guitarist of all-time! So many great guitarists out there but Gary stands above all of them!
Which guitar and processor Garry used
My favorite great instrumental is Blues for Narada, which was in tribute to the incredible drummer and musician Narada Michael Walden, who had the gift of writing beautiful melodies for guitarists such as Ray Gomez. Gary was clearly influenced greatly by Ray in his tribute to Narada.
You're righ, great bass-playing by Bob Daisley! Bob and Gary team up very well on this live version of the song.
Enjoyed the comments at the end _ Not everyone has starkiss taste in music, but this is the dessert with the cherry on top _ So you got it, had to sub. . . :>/
You got to listen to Tommy Johansson do this cover
Eric Singer from KISS on drums during this tour
Gary with the great Bob Daisly on bass
Beautiful!! Awesome guitar 🎸 skills love his voice too l amazing !
The real goat
Do the loner bro , the same concert in Sweden
Gary Moore should be considered one of the premier guitar players of all time. I think he's second only to David Gilmour as far as expressing emotions on guitar.
I'm 70+ and want you to know I completely agree with both of ypur sentence sentiments. That, somehow, I missed Moore live in concert is a huge regret of my life.
I love gary moore❤
Play gary at the royal Albert hall
Irish a secret
Great song!
Gary Moore is The Man!!!!!
Hats off to you sir for ur good taste in music
Check out 'The Messiah Will Come Again' from the Montreux Jazz Festival. It is pure passion from the get go. The other is "Red House" from Fender's 50th anniversary concert, it is ripping.
Gary Moore played from the gut. Incredible. Hey, I couldn't help notice that you're wearing a necklace from Borderline Jewelry! I know the owner very well. Her stuff is really nice.
R.I.P Gary, You're Still The Best...💯💔🙏
😎(Gary was left-Handed)😏
You're going to want to see Tommy Johansson play a cover of this on his YT channel. He has the guitar chops and wait til you hear his voice! Tommy is the guitarist for Swedish metal band Sabaton. Gary was his childhood hero!
