Gary Moore, in my opinion, as a musician of 57 years is beyond a doubt the best guitar player that ever lived. And I've seen Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and BB King live. He is #1!!!! And this particular song is probably the greatest guitar performance ever recorded.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Agreed mate
Yes.
Yup,Gary sat talking music in mutual respect with Mozart,Bach, Beethoven
I absolutely 💯% agree, and I miss him every day
this could be the greatest guitar solo of all time
I totally agree and I believe he is the greatest guitar player that ever lived.
Yes indeed
I'm a Gary fan and everytime I hear and watch this my Jaw drops. The control, emotion, power and technique are just otherworldly. In my eyes, he was Highly underrated. What legend.
Gary Moore was a full-fledged genius when he played the blues. Tone, control, subtlety, beauty and PASSION! His playing was Godly.
Alfred you git in one mate he hit the GOD notes.
when gary plays the guitar the tears roll off
Gary Moore ,up there with the all time greats ❤❤
Gary is another one of those incredible legendary guitarist, whose vocals were also very good.
So many of them from back in the day, many like Gary unfortunately are not around today, and some sadly departed 40-50 years ago.
Hard to know whether he’s top 5, as there’s so many. Remember the late Rory Gallagher, Paul Kossoff, Jimi Hendrix etc etc, and they never lived long enough to reach their full potential.
Roy Buchanan wrote this song, and did an awesome version on Austin City Limits. Check it out. Roy was pretty special.
Roy was no Rory Gallagher.
Gary's tone and phrasing was incredible. Add that to the emotion he played with and he's absolutely one of the greatest guitarist I've ever listened to. Many guitar players will tell you the same.
There's a handful of 🐐 that touch your soul, and Gary M def one if them. Indescribable talent. God tier!
Gary Moore. Seen him lots of times live. His guitar is just speaking through him and directly to you. Best guitarist ever. Could play any style. For those who suggested the 1987 version of Empty Rooms, I'm in. The last guitar solo on that somg is just dripping with feeling and emotion. Go for it!
Gary Moore was a very special artist. Very few people can play like this. As a guitarist, I can tell you that, as he plays this, he is going through how you feel when you listen to it.....that is his reward, as he plays this unbelievable music, is that he is going through how it feels. It is such joy to make your guitar talk like this. When he is done for the night, he is cleansed, he is tired from the expense of his expression (it is emotional), yet he is blessed and strengthened from being able to feel this way and play this way.
Maaan he played heart strings! What a legend. R.I.P. Gary🤘🎸🎸🎸❤
Yes Dude, THIS was Gary, he showed everything in this one. And also proudly meet “Greeny”, the legendary 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard, that he got from Peter Greene of Fleetwood Mac when he was about 15 or 16, and kept it until 2006 when he had to sell her and is currently in the proud hands of Kirk Hammett from Metallica. An exceptional guitar with an exceptional sound. If you want something as close as amazing than this one, try “Separate Ways” from the Town and Country Club in London from 1992, an amazing gig in a small club just before Tour start that year. It’s an also amazing song with an breathtaking double intro solo!
Now you see why in an interview with Eddie Van Halen when asked who his favorite guitar player was, Ed didn't even take two seconds to answer, "Gary Moore".
R.I.P. Gary, and thank you for enriching my life.
Gary Moore played a number of styles throughout his life and he excelled at all of them. He was and is an absolute legend. His control, phrasing and musicality were unrivalled.
I saw a list of the top 100 influential guitarists of all time and Gary wasn't included on the list. To me that is one of the biggest mysteries in my life.
Martin its criminal that top 100 means nothing.
What I love most about this song is how Gary pays homage to the composer and original player of this song (Roy Buchanan) by playing it exactly how Roy played it. Roy was one of the most under appreciated guitar players out there. He played when Hendrix was tearing it up live. Back then Roy didn't play with fuzz tone boxes and wah wah pedals, he got all his special effects from his guitar and fingers. Check him out A Dogg.
I saw an article once about Roy. It was titled "The best Guitarist you never heard of".
The greatest guitarists of all time in my view he makes me cry and smile no other artists have done this to me rip and thank you forget the rest he is the goat
Yes it’s definitely does that outside and internally heart and soul 🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧👌👌👌👌🙏🎸🎸🎸🎸💜💜😳😳😳🙏
I have never seen an electric guitar performance of this technical and emotional level, never. I do not care if Gary is in the top five or if he is the GOAT... the only thing is that he touches my soul.
Almost every other musician - you hear the music.
Gary Moore - you FEEL the music.
There is no other guitarist that can make the guitar sing...and cry with such phenomenal emotion.
Gary was an experience live that you felt not just heard.
Your reaction to Gary Moore is a beautiful thing! Thanks.Shine on!
You are so right Adogg. Just something about the way he bends those strings. A real tribute to our Messiah! He's comin soon.
original singer was Roy Buchanen for this song
Gary Moore is a total legend in his own right, Spent a lot of playing rock, check out the album After The War, his last true roc k album, before returning to "the blues".
I've seen Gary live 5 or 6 times, his live playing is phenomenal, best live player I've seen EVER.
it's a shame he's left us but
What a legacy, listen through his back catalogue.
On a personal note my son has the same birthday as Gary, the 4th of April.
Gary he's getting more attention now, after he passed away, a true great
A top 5 player ?
There are numerous greats that were labelled "the greatest ", its difficult to quantify but I reckon he is THE greatest player of the modern era, im confident of that.
Gary was the warm up band for Rush on my very first concert that I went to. I had never heard of him and I was blown away. Thank you for your reaction.
Thanks, Garry Moore and Adogg, for this tribute to the man who wrote and played this song with passion, Roy Buchanan. I met Roy backstage after one of his concerts in Pittsburgh in the late 60's/early 70s. I went to the sold-out Syria Mosque concert hall without a ticket, and as I and others stood outside before the start, someone inside threw backstage buttons to us. We thus entered the hall free-of-charge and heard a great sound.
You should most Def. Watch gary moore "the loner"live from sweden 87, its so good
Hear the original by Roy Buchanan too!
You hit the nail on the head. He makes it sound like the guitar is singing on its own. His playing wasn't in his fingers, it was in his soul.
Hi from Italy, please please please listen - and watch - to " Red House" and to the duets with B B King and Albert King... There are no words,....
Thank you for your sincere reaction!
R..i.P. Gary 🎸🎶,
Went to see Garry Moore at Wembley, London, UK in late 1980s.
Adogg, for your next Gary song please try "Empty Rooms" Live in Sweden 1987. It's my favorite of his, though the ones you have already played have been tremendous as well of course! I'm enjoying your reactions, sir.
Put it this way, the top 5 is not quite up there with Gary Moore!
I was lucky enough to catch him several times throughout his career and he was other-worldly in the intensity he brought. Whisper quiet to screaming to heaven, he was amazing to watch and listen to.
It is not a gunfight but Gary is up there with the very greatest.
gary was the best EVER
This is an old Roy Buchanan tune. Roy played with no tricks, pedals, or effects. Old school, the master of the telecaster guitar. A forgotten ICON of music. Give him a listen. ''IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE', HEY JOE, ROY's BLUES, BEER DRINKING WOMAN, DOWN BY THE RIVER, DONE YOUR DADDY DIRTY.
he is the best in blues #1
We are so lucky to have a whole varitey of Guitar players with their own charisma and playing style..... Gary Moore knew how to make you sit up and take notice,, Saw him 3 times live.. would see him 10 times if i had the chance
Thanx. Greatest guitar solo ever!
Not JUST "The BLUES, BuT ETERNAL EVERLASTING LIFE!! 😅🎸🎶🎤☝😎👆😁🖖
Man and guitar as one. A true phenomenon.
Gary is the best ever!
Soulfull and controlled at the same time.
Nice to see someone who just gets Gary!
Gary Moore & Eric Johnson have the most outstanding tone there is IMHO🔥✌🤘
When you paused in the eight minute mark to tell about your admiration of Gary, I had just finished thinking about him and Stevie playing together.
Jimi

just love this so much and that you loved him too ...miss him so much .
GOD BE WITH HIM
I have to say if jimi h. Jimmy page eric c, satriani roy, beck, bbking, prince, angus , gilmour srv were at this concert they literally would have been in awe of this solo.
Check out Gary's album after hours and still got The blues the guys phenomenal
He's number 1 of top 5, the guy is a legend bruv
Great Irish guitarist, Gary just had that feel. Awesome bluesy style that he brought to his music and a very serious about his playing. Check out some of his songs from the album “Blues for Greenie”
The beauty of Gary and some say the real music is between the notes,
This time it was May 1 1990 and the venue was the Concert Hall and on stage Gary offcourse this time he did blues previously year it was hardrock. Anyway this song was the last of several encores and he played with that kind of emotion, passion, feeling only he could play with and also with lots of improvisation. Remember it like it was yesterday. Memories for life for sure.
Great reaction , Gary are for sure one of the best .
As hard as it to be jealous of someone you love, that is exactly what I am. My wife, (nickname, Doodle) her sister (Dar) and friend (Debbie) aka the KILLER "D's" ... Had a girls night out in Champaign IL. And went to a club called "Mable's". And it just so happened that Gary was playing that night! She said it was incredible!!! A funny footnote, my wife made the manager move a bunch of empty beer bottle cases from in front of an exit! They ignored her until she threatened to call the fire marshal! They were pissed, but they moved them! Gary was an ICON!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
You want to see him play real blues? watch Gary with B. B. King, the trill is on
Parisienne walkways alway did it for me, give it a go
I knew you would like this one! He ran that guitar through all the emotions, crying, laughing screaming, whispering, he nailed it. This is the only cover I know of , of this song originally from Roy Buchanon who was a highly under rated player except by those that knew of him. Check out his version, which is great, but I believe Gary topped his version
I remember hearing this for the first time when I bought the After The War album...It brought tears to my eyes...Still does. Thanks for this....Empty Rooms live in Stockholm next...I dare you.
Great reaction in my opinion top 3 greatest guitar players in rock and blues genres.
Banging tune from the guitar god…but, you need to check out the real messiah- MR Roy Buchanan, the guy that wrote this beautiful song. Roy is a master of tone and one of Gary’s heroes
I've been trying to learn this song! I've been playing guitar for 40yrs! Love it! Gary Moore and SRV are definitely in the top 5.
Mastery at its best
Hey thanks! Now you need to check out another amazing blues performer, the legendary Rory Gallagher. Check out a live version of Bullfrog Blues to get a taste of Rory's performances. He was in the same league as Clapton, Beck & Hendrix and was a major influence on Slash, Alex Lifeson and Brian May, to name a few.
He was the best of the best
Benn listening to GM for more years than I care to mention, if you get a chance listen to the album 'Back To The Blues', he is still my No1 guitar hero.
An absolute legend a great Irish son
Another great performance of Gary More was his version on rehouse at Fenders 50th anniversary, I would like to see your reaction to that.
HIS THE BEST
Gary Moore is the greatest guitarist of all time.
Eddie was great.....but gary is god to us guitarist. He can do all the technical things like Eddie and others....but only one man can make you cry without saying a single word.
I never knew the blues could sound like this until I watched this man
This song was written by and first done by Roy Buchanan another guitar god
This guy Is not top 5 or 6, that Is a insult, Gary Is the King of the mountain!!!
One of the best guitar player ever
Greatest guitarist ever
Listen to Roy Buchanan's version that came out prior
The guitar is crying! That's why i love blues so much! Just, magic!🥺😭👍✌️
Played with Thin Lizzy back in the day. Maybe check out some Phil Lynott. The boys are back in town and my all time favourite Whiskey in the jar.
Top 5? Oh he’s thee Top!
Eventually you want to get into the best technical guitar players who are also creative - Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. I'd recommend "Flying in a Blue Dream" by Satriani, a good live version.
You need to check out anything by Roy Buchanan. Known as the greatest guitar player you've never heard of. He wrote and did this song in 1971.
He a, Live 1!
When I would watch BB king play I loved the way he changed the sound by making his fingers move on the strings. Gary is a master at that. Gary was one year younger than me and I am embarrassed that I had never heard of him. He was in the bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy. Being from the UK he was hidden by all the other bands in the UK. One of my all time favorites George Harrison asked him to play the guitar when he sang live While My Guitar Gently Weeps. ruclips.net/video/9M9zUQT1QYE/видео.html
Gorgeous, gorgeous!
one of the very best ( not sure top 5 but close, definitely best Irish blues guitarist)...left us way too soon.
Not sure top 5?????????
Are you kidding me?
Please, please name these 5 guitarists who are (were) better than Gary? I am truly interested to know!
😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
@@stevehanham9266 relax dude if Gary Moore is in your top five guitarist of all time , I'm cool with that. But to argue "my" opinion or taste, is quite pointless and silly.
@@mitchellhartman6205 It really isn't a problem. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I am honestly interested in who you consider to be better than Gary Moore?
I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and spent many of those years as a guitar teacher as well as playing in semi-professional bands, so my curiosity is genuine.
Cheers 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
He is the top ONE nobody better
@@stevehanham9266 yes, I noticed you weren't flaming me Steve, and I appreciate that, but opinions are subjective. Do I like shredders, or technical blues, Rock or classic guitar? I don't really rate guitarist, or any musicians or even vocalists, but I appreciate Mike Bloomfield, Santana, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Moore, Paige, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Satriani, Vai, Hendrix, Van Halen, Nili Brosh, Steve Morse, Stephan Stills, Pat Travers, orJoe Bonamassa..I can go on and on if you want, all subjective ...are they better? who knows they are all very good TO ME. "BEST" is like saying "GREAT", very meaningless
Kindly react on Wish 107.5 Lounge "I'll be there(Jackson 5)" by a Filipino girl group 4th Impact Thank you very much.
Hi new subscriber is here Thanks for your reaction ;) Thumbs Up.
Here is the Link : ruclips.net/video/8Ivc_f2Vq3c/видео.html
Now, Thin Lizzy-Emerald or Dublin
Crying is good for you!!!
Gary Moore the Belfast boy I'd NO1
Gary was top dog brother.😢😢😢
I'm like you, I get totally lost in the guitar
Yea u know now👍🏽
There's no real GOAT on Guitar, it's individual styles x signature sounds that separate the great ones, but when Gary x Greenie(his Peter Green Les Paul Guitar) get together it's hard to find better. Top 5 in a few styles.
Look in the mirror man, your face the joy in it.oh my.
Garry way, way, way better than Stevie Ray in my opinion. Definitely when it comes to sound.
Gary Moore is my #1 Rory Gallagher #2 for me then SRV Snowy White as well
gary is top 3
i see an upload from Adogg and I am present.
