It's always been a fine song . . . and now it's suddenly a Christmas classic. Enjoy.

This song tells you what christmas is REALLY about, people take christmas as a holiday of just presents when it is really about the birth of Jesus Christ. We need to remember what christmas is truly about, and not take it for granted, Christmas it about the day our lord and savior the son of god, the alpha the omega, the first and the last, came to this earth and was sent to be put on the cross and die sins and raise from the dead three days later. We need to remember that and not think Christmas is just about about presents, we need to always know the TRUE meaning of Christmas.
You're right Andrew. Thanks!
Andrew Washausen love this comment best one eva have a blessed day
Amen to that !
Because of the tender mercy of our God. He shines! He reigns! He guides our feet into the path of peace. Merry Christmas.
I love this version, it's a classic.....
Powerful and passionate reminder of the real deal, not only at Christmas, but every day
Thank you for the wonderful blessing of listening to an amazing song and singer.
Our church choir did this song at Christmas. First a piano lead in, then a young woman doing the solo, then joined by our entire choir. Awesome and inspiring. A moment I'll never forget.
This is SO beautiful and I wish more and more people would hear the Good Word and spread it as we are called to...
Truly such a beautiful version. Brought the 49 yr old man to tears watching it!
TheMrMurf me too & I'm 55 = )
Amen. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the world!! Hallelujah to the Father for sending us His only Son!
Listened to this song all of the month of Christmas. Never have heard such goodness in a song......... Thank you Jesus for giving yourself for me
This song gives me chills no matter how many times I listen to it. My favorite!
Cynthia Cox to be u
I came across this today on the radio and I've been replaying it ever since. What a beautiful song and more importantly the real reason we celebrate the most sacred day...the birth of Christ. Thank you for the greatest story ever told, Jesus born to bring all human kind peace, love, and joy but the hope to live in the Kingdom of Heaven one day. ❤️❤️❤️
Bravo bravo...so beautiful...pass tissues 💓💓💓
The best voice, the best ambiance,
the best words. Thank you
the good Lord is smiling at these great you people an filled their hearts with the holy spit
in my heart and mind this is how i always envisioned this song. now it's finally a Christmas song.
I have played this 100 times or more and feel that I received the greatest gift ever. My dream would be would be to meet you and say thank you.
This young man has certainly been given a gift from the Lord. I hope he always uses it for Jesus, because that's what our gifts are for. He sings with his heart, his spirit, and you can hear it. Beautiful!!!
Hal•le•lu•jah (exclamation)
1) God be praised (uttered in worship or as an expression of rejoicing)
"My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross too
Still every breath You drew was hallelujah"
These lines wreck me every time and I've listened to this song a million times. Just think about it... Jesus breathing and exclaiming "God be praised, God be praised. Your will be done. God be praised"
Thank you Jesus for what you have done for us!!! Merry Christmas to all!!!
A hymn of great joy and peace. Thank you & God Bless!
Have been privileged to be given an opportunity to sing this tomorrow night - Friday 9th - at a Carols event...expecting 5000+ people to attend so it will be a great opportunity to give a Christian message to the masses. It is so good that they have used such an awesome and so well known tune, and to have written such fantastic lyrics to tell everyone what Christmas is really all about. Me and my trusty 12 string are looking forward to sharing God's message...hallelujah...
I think this is probably the most beautifully written song I've ever heard. Every verse is special in its own way but the last verse really hits me....every time...My sins would drive the nails in You...That rugged cross was my cross too...Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah. Oh my goodness!!! I'm thankful for this song.
That song does embrace my eyes to see the glory of Christ.
I've heard about this baby boy
Who's come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to
you,
It goes like this, the fourth the
fifth,
The minor fall the major lift
With every breath I'm singing
hallelujah
Hallelujah
A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for you were coming
soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filed with hay
God's only son was born, oh Hallelujah
Hallelujah
The shepherds left their flocks by
night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said,
''You'll find him in a manger bed
Immanuel and Savior'', Hallelujah!
Hallelujah
A star shone bright up in the East
To Bethlehem, the wise men three
Came many miles and journeyed long to
see you
And to the place at which you were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to you and cried out
''Hallelujah!''
Hallelujah
I know you came to rescue me,
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in you
That rugged cross was my cross too
Still every breath you drew was
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Absolutely a goose bumper. Thank you Cloverton - the lyrics, the arrangement, musicianship, fantastic singing.....this is now my favourite version..love it, love it, love it.
So amazingly beautiful. I cry every time I play this song. Thank you for making it about our Lord and Savior and His birth. I will listen to this year round.
Love these "new" lyrics . The beautiful melody now has true meaning.
Now has true meaning? As if it didn't before? With all due respect, I understand that the reworked version has meaning to you, and I can respect that, but to claim the original melody, that this song is based on, has no true meaning is pretty arrogant, if not disrespectful. If it wasn't for the original, this song wouldn't even exist.
safe space... find your safe space. someone has offended you. quickly, we must go now!
Safe spaces are idiotic and implying that disagreeing with someone automatically means their offended is equally asinine. You're barking up the wrong tree.
Jesus, Thank you! In offering I will serve you!
AWASOME VOICE. GREAT SONG.ALLELUJAH.

Those aren't Leonard Cohens lyrics. He never wrote Hallelujah as a Christian song nor did he write it as a song about the nativity.
Love this song and GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU
I love this....., it's so relaxing and exalting at the same time.

One of my favourite Christmas songs, thank you also to Leonard Cohen for the music which accompanies the lyrics to this most beautiful song, I believe that tune was God given:)

The first time I heard this song it brought chills to me and tears filled my eyes, it’s such a beautiful song and amazing
I love listening to Leonard Cohen's original "Hallelujah" but this version is totally awesome for the Christmas Season. Well done and thank you!
Most beautiful
just. WOW.
Just beautiful
Still can't listen to this without crying. And I hope I never will
I just love this ❤️️ very sad he passed, but he is singing with the Angels now❤️️
Do you mean the young man singing passed away? I just discovered him and am so sad to hear this. It seems so many that were excellently talented for the Lord's work left us early.
fezziwig99 Leonard Cohen died Nov 7, this year of 2016 :(
The person singing this version isn't Leonard Cohen. The person singing is just a little thief.
Thank you! The song is beautiful, though. :)
The original is more beautiful.
Great song and lyrics. The song sung is also sung beautifully with exceptional feeling by Jordan Smith who won the VOICE by singing Hallelujah and Mary Did You know that are available on iTunes (with no copyright issue).
Cloverton hit a home run with this version of the original. Only wish our divided world could live up to the promise of the words to this song.
This brings friggin tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I said friggin tears to my eyes.
AWESOME!! Your beautiful words have added such a wonderful dimension to this beautiful melody. Suddenly, it truly is a Christmas song. Almost a Christmas prayer. :-)
This is the perfect version of this song. Thank you!

A grown man cried.....
This version is better than the original all the way!! And I need it on all my musical devices!
Watching this 2 Years after posted. Suprised it doesnt have millions of views.
Tormenta Gaming God has blessed this group with mighty powerful talents.
It's beautiful
Such a shame, this version is much better than the original. Makes sense though that they would try to silence it, after all it is about Jesus. I love it!
Love Love it
So beautiful I cried. Those lyrics are inspired and perfect for that melody! Wish I could buy a copy of it, but apparently the company that owns the Cohen copyright won't allow it. You're very lucky to have it for upload! Thank you so much for uploading it. MERRY CHRISTMAS! God bless you and yours forever. Jesus is Lord!
Amen!
You can buy a copy of Hallelujah (or listen to a sample) on iTunes sung by Jordan Smith who sang it on the Voice and won! He also sang Mary Did You Know. I downloaded both songs as soon as I heard him sing. Fantastic musical expression from a long-time church choir member.
Wow!
Listening to a silent song is just wonderful;l. As useful as a hip pocket on a singlet.
Very good 😄
thanks!
Awesome! Common Ground, Rondebosch, Cape Town.... is a similar radiant fab City church, who love jesus too. Come and see us xxxxx
This is the best version and now we can't hear it?
sing this song for my concert its a beautiful song
good song
That guy played the crap out of that xylophone!!
Can someone please help us figure out how to download/purchase this song. I lost my 14 year old son in October and this song reminds me of family time watching Shrek. This song has also a powerful connection with my children and I, as well as Christ our Savior. This is by far the most beautiful rendition of Hallelujah I have heard.
Tomorrow I will sing this song and the last verse, I know u came to rescue me this baby boy would grow to be a man and one day die for me and u my sins would drive the in nails in u that'd that rugged Cross Was my cRoss was my cross too still every breathe u drew was hallelujiah hallelujiah hallelujiah hallelujiah hallelujiah and etc.. I sing that as a solo eeeee
Hey Everyone, you wanna hear this song played loud, come to 763 Barton St E Hamilton, LoveBooks?. Praise His mighty name.
Celtic Thunder has a good one too.
Would like the Sound!
HOW does a person get the copyrights to show this in a church??? THANK YOU!!
show the talent show the music show the message get over it !
Maybe they should have thought of that before they used someone else's music without permission.
Awe, man! One of my favorites, and now I can't hear it. I hope Cloverton gets copyright to this, like Kelley Mooney did for her Easter version.
why? this should be allowed to audio. it's always about the money! happy hannukah!
Wow, only a few days ago this had full audio. Ouch. Sorry Home Church Langley. Gave out the credits to the song, did everything right, and still got nailed.
Can you buy this on itunes or anywhere? I LOVE THIS!
Wendy Weaver
We
Yes
The answer is yes, I just have to find it again. I'll get back to you in a bit.
Well crudmuffins. It's not on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, or Loudr. I'm fresh out of sources for actually buying music. I sent them a message asking them to upload it for purchase using this site here: www.clovertonmusic.com/contact.html
But it seems the last update was 2015, so chances are likely that they don't maintain their page anymore.
Where can I buy a dvd of this, Cloverton's Christmas Halleluia? Thank you we all Love.
who is the singer? he has such a wonderful voice.
Muting the audio due to copyright issues??? Seems like pure greed to me,
I cannot find a way to get a copy of this recording or CD. I have looked for the CD and can't find it available anywhere.
