From what I've heard, this fight with Thorkell vs Thorfinn was animated by the same team/person who animated Levi vs Beast Titan. Great episode, great season and a beautiful anime!
@@vividly94 hes a freelancer who takes on certain scenes that anime really want to pop out. essentially every insane animation sequence in aot was done solely by imai
Next episode is where the show really hits its stride and the complexity of characters really begins to emerge, super excited to see your guys takes on it.
When i first saw canute, i was dead sure that he's a dude with a pretty boy design which is pretty common in anime specifically prince characters in anime.
*VS Spoilers* I'm actually surprised at how many people thought Canute was a girl. Even when I read the manga I took the King's words about his "son" as fact and I'm just used to the feminine man trope
most people simply forget about the kings words. i guess its easier to remember when reading it in a manga, than hearing some japanese voice and just scimming through the subtitles.
because it just became a generic trope in an anime where a pretty looking dude is automatically assumed as a girl. When they first reveal canute, i already know that his design is just one of your generic pretty boy character design.
Well yeah, that is a common trope, but for me personally, what misled me was his face being hidden for so long. Felt like they were setting up a big reveal when Canute unmasks.
To me Vinland Saga will always be the best written Story with actual takes from real History from that era. There will be Action but.... :) there´s much much more to this..... :)
This series follows actual history in the broad strokes, and King Sweyn, Canute (Cnut), Leif, and Thorkell The Tall are all historical figures. Don't check Wikipedia if you don't want spoilers. 😉
@@lurkingposter I considered Thorfinn, but decided in the end not to include him because, unlike the others, we have absolutely no idea what he was doing at this time.

I wouldn’t be surprised since both were animated by WIT studio
