And he sided w/ the Strawhats on Egghead, begged for the safety of Kaku, and quite possibly lied about killing Stussy. Obviously not a good guy, but just enough to not be a total figurative and literal tool for the WG.
I forgot that in whole cake we learned that luffy's observation haki was more about empathy than future sight so that's why he had such good judgement of character. So the idea of loki actually being a good guy makes a lot more sense.
The world government is typically referred to as “the world” so it’s very possible that Loki wants to destroy the world government, in which case he’s an ally.
I love the idea of Loki being a happy little potato at first but after getting rejected by Lola, dude jumped back into the gym put all that pain into exercising, training, and fitness which gave him the bod he has today.
Not only do the villains usually not refer to their comrades as "friends", but Blackbeard in particular made a big speech (specifically to Kuzan) about how he and his crew are explicitly NOT friends at all and only have shared interests.

Every post time skip arc has mirrored a pre time skip one in order and we're up to thriller bark. My bet is that Loki is a direct mirror of Kuma, someone who was originally seen as a big threat but who's actions ended up saving the straw hats, even if they didn't realise in the moment
While Loki hating kindness does make some sense, I personally think that part of Loki taking the fall is that he wants to preserve the peace that Harold created. Even if that peace was based on a lie, it may ultimately be for the best for their children. Provided of course that the threat of the world government is dealt with.
I don’t think Harold was intentionally weakening his country I think this is a case of him just being too honestly kind. Like the Vicky the Viking mindset taken to the extreme. Thus Loki associates kindness with weakness and maintains this over the top persona to protect his home from outsiders.

One thing to take note off about the theory that Harald wasn't as good as it seems, is that the sumonning circle? the shanks look-alike and his comrade used to get on elbaf is in the throne room, right in front of the thorne. While it could just be that, as the guards stated, the castle is empty all the time (even if their own presence on the scene indicate otherwise), who would be best placed to empty the throne room, making sure to be alone in there without looking suspicious? The king himself. I suspect that the sumonning circle could have been there for a long time, and simply as been reactivated now that the world government feels ready to take on elbaf after the changes in policies there.
Wow. Astute observation. Here is a Man in a Room that knows Oda so well, that looked past the surface. Genuinely, well done. You are correct. I just imagined if Luffy was imprisoned similarly on Amazon Lily, this would be a very similar scene!
I think, using the information your provided about Loki talking to Shaggy, I'd translate it to "your shagginess", kinda like how in stories with bad guys trying to cheesily be bad guys, their underlings call them stuff like "your nastiness" and whatnot.
With how loki is often depicted in other forms of media, if this one had been a simple character I would've just been disappointed. Excited to see where oda takes this lol
His hatred of kindness is because the way they convince him to do this, to keep it all up, was to show him that if he shows kindness his friends and family will perish
It's fun to speculate on who or what Loki truly is before we actually start getting some hard answers on his backstory. Just imagine, though, we got a misdirect with Road being the potential arc villain, only to get another misdirect with Loki being the potential arc villain in favor of someone else... perhaps those two mysterious figures that suddenly showed up in Elbaf? At this point, who can truly say...
Note: We didn't have confirmation (by the author) if Loki really ate the Royal fruit. It's said he did it, but we didn't have any confirmation outside of characters assumptions. It's possible the Royal fruit is still safe, and might be eaten by the correct son later, and Loki might have some type of "Tricky fruit" which allowed him to tricky people into thinking he ate the royal one. I believe King Harold was overly kind, Loki grew up in a lovely family, and at the time this environment led Loki to propose to Lola. However, Harold's kindness is what led to his murder, likely by the hands of the God Knights to get his fruit, and as an escape plan Loki chose to get the nearest fruit and eat it, to not allow the fruit to go to the hands of the God Knights. The situation might be complicated, and in order to protect Harold's memory and honor as a proud warrior of Elbaph, Loki chose to shut up about this topic and take all the blame. In mythology, Loki is known for playing tricks in others, so we can't take his word as face value. About Carmel, it's possible King Harold, being innocent, wasn't aware of what exactly she was doing. Big Mom, result of that story, isn't in good terms with Elbaph.
The last time we were told a person is a tyrant who usurped a kingdom and killed their king, 10 years later that person was revealed to be one of the greatest, kindest men the world has ever known. So while Loki really does emit an aura of intimidation, I am not convinced he is what the other giants think he is.
I bring another possibility for an even greater and more tragedic tragedy: Loki did kill/cause the death of king Harold due to finding out about his supposed kindness but, plot twist, king Harold himself was being used by Caramel's co-conspirators and was oblivious to this, being an innocent victim himself which Loki only learned when it was all too late Thus, in order to shelter Elbaph from learning of the accidental dark legacy of the truly kind and well meaning king Harold, Loki took upon himself the mantle of villain as penitence for his own unintentional sins
I've brought into the good guy Loki idea almost instantly. Largely because of MCU Loki but if it pays off then it pays off. As for the thought bubble about going to kill Luffy when he gets free, Luffy just elicits that feeling in folks sometimes. I'm sure I recall Zoro wanting to cut up Luffy at least once for something or another.
15:20 Now i feel like Loki fought the King to prevent the king from doing something bad. The King probably was tryna killLoki for being in his way. But it ended being Loki killin Harold. But nobody knew whats was going on so after the battle Loki got arrested
Maby, the legendary devil fruit that he killed the king for, starts a sort of Ragnorok. My guess is the king asked his son to kill him because the king was going to become this destruction. Now, loki has the fruit and wants the world to think he is bad in order to stop him from bring about the destruction himself.
Well, Oda always prioritize comedy above all, many forget that fact I still hope Loki is a lowkey good guy because the straw hats needs more powerful allies as possible or even a powerful member
In my opinion, Loki is being set up as a misunderstanding antagonist. I think the Holy Knights are going to release him and get him to try to take over Elbaf, which he will do with the best intentions, and he will fight the straw hats but eventually will refuse an order from the Holy Knights and will then either be killed or team up with the Straw Hats to fight the Holy Knights.
Does anyone have an upto date Discord link please. I have the other half of this theory, and I would love to share it with the community. I have a perfect answer for the last couple of pieces to make this fit perfectly.
Regardless of how you think of him, he is one of big moms commanders and spent his entire life going along with her evil plans and plots. He may or may not have a bit of a redemption arc, but he is still a bad guy as far as everything we know now. Just because he cared about his other evil family members doesn't mean he isn't a bad guy.
loki could have been blamed for king harold’s death but it was actually his kindness killed him so loki gets locked up and the only reason he is acting evil is to protect who ever killed his father or he could be like a villain to unite the people of elbaf or something
Hello there. Im the dude that reminds you all that ive said Loki will be the good guy, and the one who needs to be saved on Elbaph, from his first appearance in the manga. And im not letting you forget that xD
Here's my theory, Loki was framed for the murder of his father by "Shawshanks", and he thought it was shanks (he witnessed the murder) which is why he said he wants to kill him. But when "Shawshanks" killed his father he managed to eat his father's devil fruit and because "shawshanks" probably teleported out, causing people to think Loki killed his dad for the devil fruit... because the royal devil fruit can cause Ragnarok which the world government wanted it to shape the world in emu's vision. there will be a major Evil shanks story. but it seems to be on point at this point. also this seems very oda-ish give someone who would never hurt anyone the ability to destroy the world, and frame them for murder to make everyone hate them because of their power. also set them up against a loved character to only find out they only met the evil version and their anger was misplaced. forgive my punctuation..
Loki adviced Luffy not to reveal their meeting publicly....Luffy is being tested by Loki....to discern with Observation Haki just who could be the real enemy. And those Holy Knights are not on a crusader mission at Elbaph!
kind of random but i dont know if it would happen, but if loki ends up being freed and meets the rest of the straw hats, that he doesnt get immediately infatuated with nami and robin, like he still has something for lola
Ahoi Internetman! Seeing that video, I wondered: what, if mother Carmel was corrupted by her devil fruit? She had the soul fruit. What if she ran the orphanage back in the day really out of kindness, then ate the fruit and it twisted her soul as a result? It is stated that carnivorous zoan fruits change the user - mother Carmel might be seen as an example for this effect of paramecias as well. I have no idea if you ever spoke about this like of thought, but that just occurred to me.
I have a theroy, I think caramel killed king harold and loki took the fall to hide caramels attroicties because even though caramel ended up being the bad guy her ideals that she brought upon elbaf ended up greatly benefiting the future of elbaf from what possibly use to be this non-stop fighting place.
The reason why I still think Loki is a bad guy is because his evil actions were described just like how Blackbeard's were. If Loki is good then that means Blackbeard is too. Sure my opinion of Loki might change as more info comes to light, but as of right now I see no narrative difference between Loki and Blackbeard.
If its as you said that Loki is good, then theres no reason why he would ask to be freedfrom the chains. Unless he knew somehow evil Figarland is on his way.
I think something worth mentioning is luffy being really annoyed at the new gen of warriors because I think it will play a roll in events with loki as well and Colin being the one giant child luffy likes because he has warrior spirit generally when luffy feels uncomfortable with something it will be a big deal in the arc .
Ok taking all you theorized I'd like to propose a scenarios. Now, this is precedent on if Loki's brother is dead but imagine this. Harold, is as you theorize, not a very nice man. Loki's brother discovered this, confronted Hatold in a fight and was nearly unalived then in comes Loki stumbling upon this and 8n a fit oroperly revokes Harolds active status.
Hey GLR and anyone reading, I was rereading 1134 and noticed the transponder snail at the end of the chapter appears to have a big beard. Not too unlike Jaruls. Jarul comes from a time when Elbaph was a warrior nation and he may have been against where King Harold was leading them. It would make sense for him to want violence/traditional values considering his grudge against Big Mom and his age. Maybe Shaggy is Jarul, using a code name as too not be detected.

I bring another possibility for an even greater and more tragedic tragedy: Loki did kill/cause the death of king Harold due to finding out about his supposed kindness but, plot twist, king Harold himself was being used by Caramel's co-conspirators and was oblivious to this, being an innocent victim himself which Loki only learned when it was all too late
Thus, in order to shelter Elbaph from learning of the accidental dark legacy of the truly kind and well meaning king Harold, Loki took upon himself the mantle of villain as penitence for his own unintentional sins
Loki will join the crew. Our first Giant crew mate will be a legend
Well, Oda always prioritize comedy above all, many forget that fact
I still hope Loki is a lowkey good guy because the straw hats needs more powerful allies as possible or even a powerful member
Hajrudin is the Odin character, during Dress Rosa Hajrudin was wearing a helmet that only covered one of his eyes classic Oda foreshadowing
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Lola made him realize that nice guys finish last 😂
“Killing with kindness “?
I wonder if Mother Carmel was named after caramel candy as foreshadowing of her fate to become a child's snack
I think Loki doesn't like being called "Kind" just like Luffy doesn't like being called a "Hero"
6:03 only other person i think was moriah calling Absalom his friend after he was killed on hachinosu
I’m gonna be so hype when Loki reveals the stretch-stretch fruit
Does anyone have an upto date Discord link please.
I have the other half of this theory, and I would love to share it with the community.
I have a perfect answer for the last couple of pieces to make this fit perfectly.
The bandage on Loki's face must have come from that female Holy Knight...who demonstrated her power on a giant guard!
Katikuri did not deserve to be in this lineup 6:25
Regardless of how you think of him, he is one of big moms commanders and spent his entire life going along with her evil plans and plots.
He may or may not have a bit of a redemption arc, but he is still a bad guy as far as everything we know now. Just because he cared about his other evil family members doesn't mean he isn't a bad guy.
Good day man on the internet
loki could have been blamed for king harold’s death but it was actually his kindness killed him so loki gets locked up and the only reason he is acting evil is to protect who ever killed his father
or
he could be like a villain to unite the people of elbaf or something
Oh my God! Loki is the princess character of the arc they need to help
Hello there. Im the dude that reminds you all that ive said Loki will be the good guy, and the one who needs to be saved on Elbaph, from his first appearance in the manga. And im not letting you forget that xD
The fact that his name is Loki is also a reason we think Loki is evil.
I've been thinking about what if it was Jarul who killed Harold and framed Loki? That'd lead to some very interesting repercussions.
Here's my theory,
Loki was framed for the murder of his father by "Shawshanks", and he thought it was shanks (he witnessed the murder) which is why he said he wants to kill him.
I don't think any backstory will top Kuma & Sanj's. Sanji backstory is completely underrated.
Loki is at Mochi man of Elbaf, a hard persona to save the people he is close with
The reason why I still think Loki is a bad guy is because his evil actions were described just like how Blackbeard's were. If Loki is good then that means Blackbeard is too. Sure my opinion of Loki might change as more info comes to light, but as of right now I see no narrative difference between Loki and Blackbeard.
What a drought it feels like we've been in
So Loki is basically the gigant version of leleuch
Nobody tell Uncle Iroh that you can now smoke tea
These words "fictionnal reality" crack me everytime😂
most tragic backstory is a tall order now that we know Kuma's
Loki is such a Tsundere
Hey GLR and anyone reading, I was rereading 1134 and noticed the transponder snail at the end of the chapter appears to have a big beard. Not too unlike Jaruls. Jarul comes from a time when Elbaph was a warrior nation and he may have been against where King Harold was leading them. It would make sense for him to want violence/traditional values considering his grudge against Big Mom and his age. Maybe Shaggy is Jarul, using a code name as too not be detected.
