Thorfinn calling Thorkell insane for enjoying combat was always funny to me in a tragic way because he should realize that this makes him the madman, not Thorkell. What I mean by this is that Thorkell loves to fight so he fights. That makes sense right? But Thorfinn hates to fight yet he fights. Just like his father, Thorfinn hates to fight and kill people yet that's all he does in his life and he does it just to get a chance to fight and kill one specific person. So which one really sounds like a madman here?
I always loved Thorkell because everything he does feels like something you hear in folktale ‘There was a warrior as tall as the trees, a throw of his axe would take out dozens of men, and he could throw boulders the size of houses’
My comment on last video lines up really well with 14:45 Quote:- "Also Askeladd doesn't say to Bjorn to help Thorfinn up. He says to fix his shoulder. Askellad didn't break his arm, but he did dislocate it, that's the snap we hear." Here Thorfinns fixes his shoulder on his own, impressing Askeladd.
When you open up a dictionary and look up "loose unit" there's gonna be a picture of best girl Thorkell and his cute little smile ☺ Also this being Thorfinn's first loss against someone he doesn't feel obligated to follow for revenge, reveals some nice bit of perspective from him. He doesn't seem to enjoy being a warrior but he "has to" be one, in order to fulfill his mission. That's a stark contrast compared to him in the first episode where he was so eager to go to war. Especially in contrast to Thorkell and other people like him who thrive on violence, always seeking a good fight.
That quote from Thorfinn at the end was the point where I started to have hope for him. Unlike, say, Thorkell, Bjorn, or any other viking who's in this for the pleasure of fighting, killing, or looting, Thorfinn takes no pleasure in it all and is purely focused on revenge. It was my first hope that if he ever actually managed to kill Askeladd, he could have a chance to walk away from that life instead of being stuck in it for the rest of his life.
If I remember correctly/thinking of the same guy, he had another nickname as ‘the Walker’. Because he was too tall for any horse he came across. Even with the biggest horses that he could find, his feet could still touch the ground.
I read somewhere that people assumed he had the same genetic disorder as Andre the Giant so he stood taller than 7 feet tall and literally towered over everyone around him
notice how when askeladd and throfinn were on the boat, askeladd insulted thors again and thorfinn lost his cool and threw his dagger at his drink. askeladd smiled cus he knew thorfinn hadn't yet learned to control his rage.
@Abdul Ahad he def is a cool character, and is very interesting. In season 2 he's def an even better character with all the development he gets. For season 1 though, while he is interesting, he doesn't have quite as much depth as someone like Askeladd, and Thorkell is just so funny and amazing all the time that I can't help but have him as my favorite
the prologue is merely just the name of this arc that the creator of the series chose to go with. this whole season is still part of the main storyline
@@deadsec5970 you are right but this can be considered a past life of thorfin and he only cared for revenge and didn't know anything else and in new season he is starting his life again from zero again trying to understand about life and himself so in that regard it can be considered a prologue.
If Carley can't handle seeing the bit of blood and mutilation in this episode then she will probably keep her eyes closed every time Thorkell is on screen lol.
Thorkell is a beast who had killed many people don't address him as a girl it's disrespectful to girls . The girls only deserves love and he deserves punishment in hell.
Yes this , "thorkell makes me uncomfortable " , I mean I saw how Poeple ,some reactors sees his caracter as the comedic relief or the action God of this show but from day one I could never view him this simply, he makes me feel just as uncomfortable as askellad if not more , for askellad it's the superiority/God complex part of him that bugs me ,like I know you are so smart and on top of everything that almost every judgement you make on humans is spot on but don't exclude your self from it ,you are just as humanely messed up , self unaware and " enslaved " as they are if not more , for thorkell it's the animalistic part of him , he is the most viking like viking to ever exist, I tried to convince my self he is jus a martial arts addict which is totally fine but that doesn't forgive his utter insensitivity to the amount of physical pain and chaos he inflicts on others for the sake of his enjoyment, his so utter insensitivity to physical pain including his own speaks volumes to what kind of life style he led till now , and to think that's a whole population of Vikings and not just him , anyhow I can't help but see him as a human who willingly, knowingly and ignorantly degenerated into animal just because that what's his environment told him to be as harsh as that may sounds ,and that prevents me from enjoying the " fun" and other " good" sides of him ,like the lack of malevolent intentions ,loyalty and just the happy go lucky vibe he brings in such a dark show ,I know this was me reformulating what everyone must have got from watching this show, an idea this show so beautifully represented in my not so beautiful way for absolutely no reason but I still did cause hughhhhh this show is so packed with meaning it's ridiculous
Wtf do you mean you don't know if that's a spoiler? YES YOU DO. It's completely obvious its a spoiler cuz we're still at the very fuckin beginning of the whole show! -_-

Wow very true
Very interesting perspective
Still, the one that enjoys it, not that one that is imprisoned by it.
I like this viewpoint🤔
Thorkell is the definition of a loose unit lol
I always loved Thorkell because everything he does feels like something you hear in folktale
‘There was a warrior as tall as the trees, a throw of his axe would take out dozens of men, and he could throw boulders the size of houses’
Ma boy thorkell is such an entertaining characters , every moment with him was really a fun moment

If I didn't know that Angelo used "loose unit" before this show I would just assume that it originated from Throkell tbh lol
Thorkell is what you called a LOSE UNIT 😂 great reaction guys ❤
Cuz he always joins the losing side
He is the best character in the whole series for me.

Fun fact, Thorkell the Tall was an actual person from history
Yeah and he was "the tall" among Vikings lol.
@@verynice5574 Which is saying something. Probably was more than a foot taller than everybody on the Anglo-Saxon side.

appreciate your thoughts in
every episode 😇
rewatching it makes me love the show even more. its soo well written and the characters have so much depth. both of you pick up on so many things!
Thorkell is such an amazing character
15:20 I don’t think we can say he’s learning
He was never shown to have any enjoyment from war or fighting
He just did it because he thinks he had to
thorkell the most loose units of all...he just LOVES battle he's a viking through and through😂
notice how when askeladd and throfinn were on the boat, askeladd insulted thors again and thorfinn lost his cool and threw his dagger at his drink. askeladd smiled cus he knew thorfinn hadn't yet learned to control his rage.
Fun fact; Thorkell the Tall was a real person, but his feats are exaggerated in the anime lol he was a more chill guy irl
Really LOVE your guitar Cover of this Intro!!
Imagining Thorkell if he found out about the assassination of Thors.... what a thrill to watch
This is where the fun begins
A very interesting theory on Canute actually
Carlie just nailing those outros, love you both ^^
The loose unit incarnate
You are in for a ride the development of canute goes crazy.
What unbelievable is that guy actually existed in history.
Thorkell my favorite character in the anime for sure, Askeladd is a close second. With the second season Canute is up there as well

I requires an absolute LOOSE UNIT to LOSE an entire UNIT like that lmao. Bro singlehandedly destroyed the danish army
12:20 got gooesbumps
The title made me laugh😂
IS Thorkell THE loose unit??? Guys, you're not even remotely prepared for how loose of a unit he is...
Thorkell vs Thorfinn is mostly done by same person who did Levi vs Kenny Squad or Zeke and other AoT SAKUGA upto s3
Oh, no wonder.
In the loose units book torkhell is in the cover
I love your content :P Greetings from Germany
Because wit studio who made AOT
I was waiting for Ange to meet Thorkell
So far there's 199 manga chapters. The first and second seasons will cover around the first 100 chapters
I like your reaction guys thank you💗 please watch the rest of the episodes the second season has been released 🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite episode. WiT only did any work on this series.
That was awesome! btw, when will you share next episode 10 Carlie & Ange?
Great reaction as always guys. you make my day. When are the FMAB reactions coming?
Yes s 1 is a prolgue and s2 is from where thorfin real journey starts.

yeah but they're mild spoilers that's why
Thorkell is by far the loosest unit you'll ever see. I have been watching anime for 1.5 years and never have I seen a character like this.
umm... I mean there is also Kenpachi. I think he can compare to Thorkell

never understood why people tell thorfinn to let go when thorkell was literally grabbing his fist, not the dagger
So we addressed the cut lip but nothing about Carli's orange hands.
Haha that's hilarious, I just noticed
Did u get a tan? Or is the camera affecting the colour of your hands?
ah, my fav man this season lol
I'd expect there will be something like five seasons in total if the pacing stays consistent.
Thorkell is 7ft5. its not a fantasy height as there are humans that tall irl
Best girl Thorkell is here!

Thorkell best girl

Thorkell is the best WAIFU, remember that
You guys should react to Tokyo ghoul it gives me an eren mc vibe sometimes no spoilers tho!
why her hands so brown?🤔🤔🤔💀💀💀
Askeladd is pronounced as Ashe-ladd in old Norse. That's why the Japanese VA is sticking to this pronunciation.
Dude I cringe so bad when I read the subtitles.😫😫.
I do like the Japanese and English voice actors but man, the subtitles don't do justice.
