Wasn't confident enough to get the soldering iron inside the plastic housing, but wound up taking some time with the iron and a de-soldering braid and got the two halves apart, re-flowed the plug terminals and it now works like a charm, thanks for the very niche video :)
Want to thank you so much for this, had this issue for so long and everyone kept telling me it was an issue with the wiring. Followed your vid to solder and fixed it in 5 mins.
Very detailed, ill be honest I skipped a lot as I only wanted the top display fixing, and it worked! Top notch thank you for all this information as I'll be going back to it at a later date if I need to take more of it out
THANK YOU, this video was extremely helpful, did exactly what you said and found those dry solder points, re-soldered and display works perfect. Very happy.
This is an amazing video. I too have a 2003 Euro R and it has the same problem. I'll give this a go but have heard from other sources this a common issue
This fix works, although you can just pull off the top cover by reaching out to the end of the dash, and pull with your fingers towards you. The whole panel pops off without having to disassemble the rest. Maybe you can pin this comment, or put a note somewhere. Thanks anyway :)
No worries, if its just a clock problem watch the video from 7:50 on as you do not need to remove the entire radio/ media unit, the top vents with the clock just unclips from the center console.
I had the same issue, also. My Accord sat for a few years during the pandemic (I was driving my other car during that time), and when I started her back up June 2022, the screen was really bad. Tapping, or pressing above the screen, no longer worked.

It would be great to see the actual soldering process as I'd like to attempt it but don't want to make the component an ornament!
Will see what I can do in the near future
Oh my god. This is so helpful. My clock is out of control for a long time. So ignoring. You are my hero.
Thanks for the comment!

@@AutoBuddynz sorry, mustve missed it
Great video!!!
Thanks!
Good video , what if the clock is not working properly and you can't adjust it ? Mine is way off and I can't change it on the settings
You should be able to change it through the menu settings on the radio / headunit. Is it a Japanese model?
thanks for this
How did you get the display for the nav unit to display in english and not japanese?
@@marklucas1552 in settings from memory you can change it to English. You may need Google translate to help figure out the buttons
Where are you based Auto Buddy? Thx
The green plug doesnt come out easily, should it be like that? Should I just use force?
Make sure the lock on the connector is pushed down. You can also spray a bit of wd40 to make it a bit easier.
я точно так же пропаивал конектор на своём аккорде , уже 5 лет прошло всё ок
Do you solder all cold connectors ?
Yes that would be the best option
How to increase touch sensitivity on the main screen ?
this clock display can affect ac climate control notworking properly?
Nope it should not, AC should still work
