I've just taken delivery of a 2006 Honda Accord with this Navigation device and now know what to do if I ever want to have an Aux input. *Though* I will say that my car has a DVD unit under the CD player (where your cubby box is, mine is taken up with a DVD player for the navigation and under that a small cubby for sunglasses etc). He forgot to mention the 2 screws holding the head unit in place. Must be removed before removing unit. Don’t do what I did and pry and start damaging stuff. I only noticed him putting the screws back in so I knew they had to be removed. Overall good video.

I have a regular center console, when I took it off from the bottom it didn’t have the instant plug in, it looks like I have to take the whole middle out like how you did but I don’t have a navigation
This is cool, thanks for the step by step in removal of the unit, but at that point I’d just pay the $100 and get a new stereo unit for Bluetooth and everything
I can't get my head unit off Idk what plastic middle thing you are talking about is, It really feels like im about to break somethinf when i try to rip out the head unit

I searched far and wide online and the only aux adapters I can find for my 06 are the ones with 1 cable to plug in. If I don't have the one that plugs into the original cable, what happens to the system? I bought the adapter before I learned the navigation unit has a different plug setup than the standard one.
I don't have the same head unit in mine but since I've seen some Y splitters kicking around on honda parts sites and the connector looks pretty much the same for my car I'll let you know that for my car disconnecting the factory cable and just running the aftermarket aux just get's rid of the SiriusXM or satellite radio functionality. So the CD/Satellite just becomes CD/AUX. I've got an 06 accord EX with the 7BK2 head unit.
Man still a amazing car the engine is underated for the TL and v6 accord Im gonna be honest the 6 speed manual in these cars really make this car a gem
I took all mine out today including the dvd drive for the sat nav now my sat nav wont pick up gps 😔 it just says wait 10 mins for gps , then it says cant connect , disconnect battery for 30 mins to reset gps memory , i did that and still nothing , everything is plugged in right.
ive had this issue a few times when i disconnected my battery i would drive to another location disconnect the battery and try again or just leave it come the next day and should work that's what i exactly did, its happened to me a few times.
@@bogusdanger2562 it was an error on my behalf lol i didnt plug my gps plug back in 🙄, i opened it all up again and noticed it had fallen into the dash and i didn't notice lol so after days of stress its now all good .

I had same problem. He didnt mention the 2 screws or 8mils underneath clearly. After putting few scratches on the unit i figured it out myself.

its a very dumb clip at the bottom but you will eventually get it
