CANBUS is not for steering wheel controls, it is for the cars software to feel ok when you take off or change electronics. Almost every important part of the modern cars has its own sensors for damage or failure, if you take off any of them while battery is connected to system, the software of the car is gonna think there is issues on that part because connections lost and come back or not. Even if you change the headlight bulbs, some cars giving error on display and keeps warning. Canbus makes it feel safe for car systems. Nice work by the way, keep it up

I bought my android radio from eBay. Another brand. Followed your instruction. They worked great except the Brake wire. Mine is on a separate cable. It has about 4 wires. Brake, IR, etc. Will try it before I solder the Brake wire to ground. Also my antenna wire just barely fit. Squeezed it in. I'll have to buy an extension or go behind the glove box and see if it's tie wrapped behind it. Thank you for the video. It looks Marvelous.
Radio seems to work fine except two issues: 1) a little static. Bought an Antenna extension. Will install next weekend. 2) USB's don't work. Are there settings for the USB's? The cables only fit in one plug. They match exactly. Any tips on the antenna and/or USB's?
Added antenna extension. Radio receiver works great. USB's are fine. Have iPhone lightening cable issue. Hooked up Back-up camera. Both me and the radio/head unit made mistakes. Trouble shot by using another camera and monitor. Hooked them up to isolate the problem. Couple of wires not connected right. Supplier diagram showed only one power wire connected. Wrong, connect Front CVVIn to yellow video feed going to camera. Connect wire that says BACK, to the Video feed red wire. In the trunk/boot, connect video feed to camera, and red power to camera power, and reverse back-up light power wire. Becareful. If you short the reverse wire you can blow a fuse. 21 under the dash for me. Swapped with number 20 until I got home. Unwired reverse, changed fuse and corrected the reverse light wiring.
@@DigitalBathInAZ I did! What I understood is that my speakers just blew up. Once I opened them up , it was already ripped off. After I bought new speakers it worked great!
To help anyone else trying to remove the upper vents. The proper tool is a large U shaped tool with a 90° bend at the ends that hooks into the second to last row inside the vent. When I couldn’t find the tool I just used a L shaped Allen key which you would pull towards you
Tried one of these and I was not impressed. The AC temperature regulation is not as refined as with the stock unit. It tended to shift a lot between hotter and colder air instead of giving a steady temperature. The buttons for the AC is also small and cheap feeling. The original unit has a good amplifier witch produces good sound quality and bass response. The touch screen model had very little base and did not sound good. My suggestion to anyone considering this is to not waste your money and get an ISO adapter cable that you plug into the original head unit leads and replace the small compartment below the original unit with a 1 or 2 DIN head unit.
Hello, if I also want a reverse camera for this head unit, where do I connect/splice the reversewire to? I noticed there's an unconnected reverse wire with the big blue connector. Thanks!

If yours is dual zone there's a setting in the app that lets you change it to dual zone. You can also find the extra settings described in the second video, where it might give you the option to enter a code to change the AC mode. For XTRONS radios this code is "75" but for other manufacturers it may vary.
Just wanted to see if this radio was still holding up? I'm tired of the aux adapters I've been getting and this radio looks amazing to get the factoryish look
Still working perfectly and I love it. I originally wanted a double din that goes in the lower storage compartment, but this one had great reviews which is pretty uncommon considering there are countless brands that all make ones that look identical. Plus I couldn't pass up on the features and simple plug and play. XTRONS was the only one I can find that supports both single and dual zone AC which is pretty cool too.
Hello I have 2004 Honda Accord EX, but my duel AC factory stereo has an extra white connector harness thingy on it right next to the blue one which you talk about at 5:35. Do you know what it does and if I need to plug it into the xtrons stereo as well or something. Apparently it's called a GROM HON1M I think. Thx
@Denser Nator The GROM HON1M cable is an Auxiliary Adapter cable designed to connect another audio device to the factory Honda radio. If you have this new Android 10", then that cable becomes obsolete. I don't believe it serves any function on the new radio.
Wrong way to remove the ac vents that will surely leave a nasty mark. U just have to pull the vents towards u and they come off. Never use a screwdriver on interior to loosen any clips...
Also, 9 out of 10 that the placement of both the Wifi and GPS antennas will fall off after a few hot sunny weeks. That's because placing them underneath a "black" dash panel will cause the adhesive tape to heat up. The hot weather and hot sun light will be hottest on black surfaces, and the tape will loosen up and fall off. Plus adding the gravity pulling on it, and the constant road bumps - and it will only make the tape fall off even more. It's best to tape them on "top" of a hidden surface, and also use a secondary way of securing them. But overall, its ok - nice job kid.
@@kingsteray8411 For the GPS sensor, I was able to thread the wire down a small gap between the top of the dash and the windshield vents. I grabbed the wire underneath and gently pulled it all the way down, until the sensor sat nicely on top of the dash (tucked against the windshield and the center mark of the dash). At that point I used a much better 3M double-side tape to stick it to the top of the dash (still there after many many years). Its barely noticable and it matches the color of my dask. You might want to lightly spray paint it to match yours (matte). For the wifi sensor, I personally placed it in the glovebox. But if you dont want it showing anywhere, you should zip-tie it to the actual radio harness, or a bracket that's easy to locate, but out of the way (that does not interfere when the unit is installed into the radio opeining). I guess you could do the same with the GPS sensor, as long as its right under the dash. Try to make sure no thick metal/plastic plates are between the GPS sensor and the dash under-surface. And try to place it so that the top surface of the GPS sensor points upwards towards the sky.
Hi I just installed the same radio in my 2005 accord ex but it doesn't come on i test the fuse that is on the radio and it has power, I also noticed that there is an extra set of wires on my radio harness with a white plug. Any suggestions

Is it an XTRONS model or produced by a different company? You can either look in the settings and see if you can disable the restrictions or contact your seller/manufacturer
Hi! Will this be compatible with an iphone like bluetooth, USB, etc? Also, do you have any suggestions in the Atlanta area that could do this? Most places are asking me to get rid of the cubby or purchase the kit and I don't want either.
With Bluetooth it should work fine, not sure about USB. And I'm not familiar the Atlanta area but if you tuck the wires up far enough you can keep the cubby fully functional
Hey man know if this xtron one works with LX model of accord. All the other chinease ones from ebay said that it had no support for "accord lx". You right they practically all look the same but the difference at least in numbers is that those ones all have 1 gb of ram and this one from xtron has 2gb.
I'm pretty sure it would work, but you should contact XTRONS just to be safe. I know they said it doesn't work on European diesel models but my old STOCK radio from my EX worked after I sold it to my friend with a Canadian base model Accord. I can't imagine they're that much different.
Alright thanks. I contacted XTRON to see what they say. I did notice that on their website this same system (2gb ram 16gb storage) costs over $300 but on the link you provide for Amazon its about $237. I am assuming it is the same one but priced lower on Amazon.
@@JR-mw3gf They've updated them since my video came out, but I got mine on Amazon originally. The 2gb RAM one is cheaper but there's also a 4gb version with more storage space
More questions: I like this radio but I cannot get the wifi to work well. The bluetooth seems to work fine especially the hands free talk and BT music. But the NAVI/GPS is not all there. Maps are partially displayed. I cannot get RUclips to work. Can you tell us if you got everything to work and how you did it? I also set time manually bc radio time would not link with wifi or GPS. To adjust adjust AC/Heat modes, you need to toggle the MODE button. Simply touching the various mode symbol does not work. They also said that this unit only waorks with a wired backup camera - not one with a wireless transmitter. I have sent them a bunch more questions but they are not good at responding. They seem to know how to make the system work so I do not understand why they do not make a detailed instruction manual for it. I will probably return/exchange this unit because I'm thinking it might be defective.
You need to install a separate GPS app and set it so when you press the navi button it redirects to the app. I used the included wifi antenna and it worked for me just fine. As for the AC I always just used mode, but yes if you can't get it to work I would recommend exchanging it
So I would have to have that particular radio because of the air conditioning because I order one but mine doesn’t have the air knobs on the bottom of it so does that mean I can’t use it or I’ll just have to install it a different way
Those types usually have the AC controls built into the touch screen with an app, it should be similar to install but you'll have to test if they actually work
I really need to get this but I am super worried as my ride is a Honda accord 06 lx I can not tell if the radios are all the same... So I am bothered about compatibity y. I'd also like step by step video to install the camera at once... Thanks...
You might have to go into the bluetooth app and click play or it won't start playing. If the radio works but not bluetooth that's the issue, otherwise I would check the wiring or contact the manufacturer
I don't think the radio is correlated to the outside temp sensor because the stock radio never showed the temperature on its own. One thing I looked up online is that you can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes to "reboot" the gauges.
I bought a similar radio for my 2004 Honda Accord ex but I can not get my climate controls to work at all. I have hooked it up every way possible.Does the decoder have anything to do with making the climate controls work? Mine didn’t come with one
I have one in my car and see it has ability to make phone calls and hook to the internet. Is there a place for the sim card. I see a circular hole for 4g tho. What other way do you get internet to this system except to hot spot from your phone
My Accord has a good factory stereo. What does the android sound like? There are certain songs where one instrument plays out the right speaker while another plays out the left side speaker, at least in the factory Accord radio.
Yeah that's just part of the stereo mix/balance of the songs. It would do that on headphones too, not just the radio. Compared to stock, this has a bit less bass but the high and mid tones sound way better in my experience. No more static sound on higher notes. You can also add a subwoofer to this if you wanted to.
I didn't explain it well in the video, that wire is just to prevent you from watching videos while driving. You can still use it normally otherwise. But yes, if you attach it to any ground wire or metal part of the dash you can enable video functionality without the parking brake.
@@NoPointOfThis123 i got the same one as you and they changed how the brake wire works so it’s hard to find which wire controls video function idk what to do
@@Zachindacrack If yours is a different brand from XTRONS I would just plug it in first and see if it works. Sometimes if it doesn't have the wire it means it doesn't need a ground to begin with. Otherwise you could ask the manufacturer for a wiring diagram and see if it says which one is the right wire.
So I have an 07’ Accord and want to try this out but when I bought the car it had came with a Bluetooth radio already installed (just a basic JVC radio that sits under the real installed radio). I’m not too sure if I can do this just because the sound system isn’t even the actual cars system it’s a speaker system set up in the back. I’m not sure if that would stop me from installing this
It just depends on the wiring, if the person who installed the current radio cut up the harness you probably won't be able to install it. But you can check the plugs and if everything looks good you should be all set
Can someone confirm if the same unit can install in the accord (right hand side drive). I did check with few people on eBay and everyone said no. I did took out the original stereo (with dual a/c function) and mine one looks the exact same from inside as shown in this video. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I got the new version 10.0 android. Everything works fine, but the ac just blows out hot air, any idea what I did wrong? The OEM had no problem AC was nice and cold...
Agustin Gonzalez I had the company I bought from send me a new harness and can-bus. Seems that did the trick. Sometimes they program these can-bus wrong.

It shows on the dash that cruise main is on and also it shows that cruise active when i set speed but the car doesn't hold the speed. The volume and other controls works just fine .Do you have any idea about solving it ?.
Mine still works fine. I don't think the radio and cruise control are tied into the same circuit so it could just be a coincidence. I would try putting the stock radio in and see if it fixes it, and if the problem really is the radio try to get a replacement.
Yes it had perfect reception even in densely covered areas, just need a wifi hotspot for Google Maps but the actual location is tracked via the antenna
@@NoPointOfThis123 Thank you for replying. Another Q if I may, why is a hotspot needed for google maps? Shouldnt the app (built into the radio) simply use the GPS data (from the antenna and GPS processor) and the map data built into the app?

Almost two years ago I made the mistake of buying a Secaine for my 2007 Honda. They ripped me off, ordered and paid for a 64GB got a 32GB. GPS frequently doesn't start up. Can't update get error message missing mtu. No onscreen climate display despite their online description. Even though claim of dual AC there's actually no place for second plug

@@Kiwi-bf7bh And for the single and dual zone you can tell because dual has temperature knob on both sides. On single one is temp the other is fan. But XTRON units work with both
@ Raudel Flores Can you please confirm if your OLD radio has "Premium Audio System" written at the top of the display? Can you please advise if your old radio is the Premium one?
Are the buttons on the bottom back lit? I have been considering buying the almost idential seicane version for months but the buttons aren't back lit and that just seems like it would feel cheap at night.

Is this radio any good I purchased one but after I did the reviews on it it only have a 2.8 star rating so anybody buy this radio and had any better luck with it than a 2.8 I have the 10 inch screen
That boot sequence part he showed is only the first boot. Once the radio does the first it always comes on much faster next time. So fast that if you start the car and throw it in reverse the camera is already on the display.
Does this fix the popping sound caused by old Honda faulty radio system? Or I have to fix it first or problem will remain after I replace it with this touchscreen?
If the problem is the speakers themselves then you'll need to get new speakers first. But if the problem is cause only by the radio then yes this should fix it

How? The ISO thing

Thx
I think that also relates to the dual function of the climate control
@Denser Nator
The GROM HON1M cable is an Auxiliary Adapter cable designed to connect another audio device to the factory Honda radio.
@@galoguevara6049 any recommendations on where to put it instead of where he did?

You can unlock the shifter from park with the key, or you can use the key to start your car and put it in L.
So I would have to have that particular radio because of the air conditioning because I order one but mine doesn’t have the air knobs on the bottom of it so does that mean I can’t use it or I’ll just have to install it a different way

So if I connect that brake wire to a metal screw or something it won’t prevent me from using my unit while driving?
I didn't explain it well in the video, that wire is just to prevent you from watching videos while driving. You can still use it normally otherwise. But yes, if you attach it to any ground wire or metal part of the dash you can enable video functionality without the parking brake.
@@NoPointOfThis123 i got the same one as you and they changed how the brake wire works so it’s hard to find which wire controls video function idk what to do
