Duran's music is heavily driven by John's bass, not by Nick's synth, and that's what makes their music distinct. John's bass is the one that makes people drawn to their music and gives them credibility as a band. Many people praise John Taylor for his innovative bassline and regard him as the true player in duran while the others are regarded just miming, especially Nick. Nick's synth is more like an ambience sound in their music, not the melody core, that is if you know about music at all. John is the real mastermind of Duran. He's the one that formed and directed the band, created the concepts and plotted out. Without John Taylor DD wouldn't exist and would not have made it this big. People dismiss his talent, credibility, and contributions just because he's so God damn beautiful, so people won't admit that he's also the brain in dd and insanely talented because that would be multiple threats for their ego.
Well, I think John and Simon are good looking, they're funny, but there's nothing more. On the other hand, Nick's got everything they don't have: he's smart, intelligent, polite, well spoken, stylish, with and wicked sense of humor, and if that is not enough, he's absolutely gorgeous. OMG! those green eyes, and wath that smile!!!! it makes my day :D Nick is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to say that John and former Andy Taylor are my favorite Duran Durans. Though I think Roger is cute. John is sooo good looking and there is just something about Andy that appeals to me. With that said, I would have to say that I do think Nick is very unique and special. Duran Duran is not the same without the original 5 but if Nick left, Duran Couldn't possibly be a group. He adds so much to the group's sound with his symphisizer, and it wouldn't be the same without Simon's Voice.

Okay first you've got to know this; a die hard JT fan would never settle(excuse the word Nick) for another. The reason she is so laid back is the antisipation of doing this video and then meeting her object of desire. That she got stuffed cause HE wasn't there is a bit of a downfall but hé...that's the way the duranie world turned at that time in life...
