  • 📌 In this personal and candid RUclips video, I'll take you through my nail-biting interview experience for the PGP course at IIM Kozhikode. I was fortunate to receive two interview calls from IIM K - one for the prestigious PGP program and the other for the newly introduced PGP in Finance. 🛄 🎯
    Join me on this journey as I share the nitty-gritty details of my intense interview for the PGP course, providing you with invaluable insights into what you can expect during this crucial step of your MBA journey:
    1️⃣ My video begins with me recounting the nerves and anticipation I felt when I walked into the interview room. I started with the classic opening question, "Tell me about yourself?" Little did I know that the interviewers had something different in mind. They abruptly interrupted me, steering the conversation toward my CMA US certification. They probed me about why I chose this path over pursuing CA, setting the tone for what would be a challenging interview. 👨‍🎓📚
    2️⃣ The discussion then delved into my motivations behind pursuing an MBA. The interviewers sought to understand if I was solely interested in securing placements or if I genuinely valued the prestigious IIM tag. The pressure was mounting, and I could feel myself breaking into a nervous sweat. 🤝📊
    4️⃣ As the interview progressed, we transitioned to my work experience, which provided a momentary sense of relief. However, when I introduced my certification in Blockchain technology, the interviewers sprang a series of technical questions that caught me entirely off guard. To make matters more interesting, they asked me about my attendance at the Harvard US India Initiative event and probed my perspectives on education abroad. 👨‍💻💰
    5️⃣ In a surprising twist, they threw an unexpected question my way: "How did Shivaji Maharaj die?" This left me momentarily stunned, but I managed to collect my thoughts and provide a thoughtful response. The interview finally concluded, leaving me to reflect on the experience and learn from my mistakes. 🫅⚔️
    📌 In this video, I'll share not only the challenging aspects of my interview but also some valuable tips on how to navigate these intense situations and stay composed under pressure. If you're an aspiring MBA student looking to join an esteemed institution like IIM Kozhikode, this video is a must-watch. It offers a real, unfiltered glimpse into the unpredictable nature of MBA interviews and equips you with the knowledge to face them with confidence. 👨‍🏫

    Bro actually i am 25 years old and i started prep for cat on 2020 by taking drop .. but after corona i decided to drop the plan preping for cat and do mba from small college from my hometown and started to handle my father’s business but now i realise my mistake and now i want to prepare for cat its been almost 4 years since i’ve been graduated so can you please tell me is it a better decision? Will i get selected in iims? Nd yes i’ve done job in flipkart as well for 9 months..
    Please do reply its very crucial for me. And please tell whts ur age?

      Hi Tanuj, I would recommend you to go for executive MBA (1 year full time MBA with placement assistance). Given that you have experience of managing your father’s business along with short stint at Flipkart, you will be eligible for multiple opportunities now.
      IIM K offers PGP-BL for 3+ years of experience, and then we have IIM A, B, C and L offering executive PGP after 4 to 5 years of MBA. (Given you were managing your father’s business, you can submit the ITR forms as proof documentation).
      To get into an executive PGP (MBA) course, you need to appear for GMAT exam, scoring 680 with decent acads should get you a call back for interview.

      @@tanujsoni852 Hi, given you have scored more than 60%, you are eligible for all the courses. And I am not talking about MBA overseas (though you can consider it), I am talking about one year MBA (executive MBA aby IIMs and newly introduced PGP-BL by IIM-K).
      You can visit official website of IIMs to know more about it!

    What can we as an aspirant do to make our extra carriculum section look better, as I am a fresher and bcom grad and do not have an extraordinary academic feat. What can I do to make my profile standout?

    • @aditya_shelar
      @aditya_shelar  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Rahul, so here is the plan to curate a perfect profile:
      - First year: Targets sports competitions, clubs, fest/event organisation committees (basically, FY hai- you can take it a bit lightly)
      - Summers between FY and SY: Target impact/social/NGO internship or volunteering
      - Second year: You can take up student council resposibility, target research paper competitions, case study competitions (check out Unstop), start a professional course with one year target in mind. If time allows, pursue some tech courses as well (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Alteryx).
      - Summers between SY and TY: Target corporate internship programs in big 4, fortune 500 companies, or any firm from your target sector domain
      - Third year: Complete the professional courses started in SY, start something new in college that would showcase leadership initiative, join placement committee, work on getting more companies to the college, engage with alumni.
      By end of third year, by following this plan, I expect you to get placed in a good role at a good company, if you have MBA on your mind, then its a different story!
      I hope this helps, all the best! :))

      Hi Arjun, given you have scored 60%+ in 10th/12th/Grad - you are eligible to apply for all the B-schools. To give you a practical picture, it is going to be difficult, but don't loose hope no matter what!
      'How much percentile is required?' - this question is completely irrelevant (or consider the requirement to be 100%ile), focus on getting the best possible score and once the results are out, we can figure best options amongst IIMs and other B-schools and decide accordingly.
      Stay focused, prepare well for your CAT exam! All the best :)

    Delhi school of economics is good for mba
    Because my academic very low 60/66/60 10th 12th grade
    What i will do top business difficult due to low acad
    Cfa + us cma is better or do mba from dse

    • @aditya_shelar
      @aditya_shelar  9 месяцев назад

      There are many good b-schools in India, though IIMs are tagged as the ultimate place to be; I have seen students from tier 2 and 3 colleges overtake IIM grads over time through building strong experience.
      Coming to your prep for CAT 2023 or 2024, just don’t think about what has already happened (it’s a complete waste of time to think about something that we cannot change - academics).
      So the advice from my end would be, until your CAT attempt, don’t get distracted. If you ate clear about pursuing MBA, give your 100% to CAT and make sure you extract the best score possible. Once your CAT result is out, we can strategise around which is the best college we can attend to have a rockstar career ahead!!
      I hope this helps :)

      @aditya_shelar  9 месяцев назад

      Given your academics and current work experience, I would recommend you to appear for CAT, but without quitting your job.
      This might seem to be difficult- managing study and work simultaneously, but to get extraordinary results, we have to push the limits!
      Once you get into a Bschool (if new/baby IIMs or any other decent Bschool), would again push you to pursue CFA L1 along with MBA first year.
      By the time you sit for placements in second year, your profile would be upto the mark in order to land a great job in Finance domain.

    How is PGP LSM ?

    • @aditya_shelar
      @aditya_shelar  7 месяцев назад

      Currently, MBA-SM (PGP-SM) is a sleeping giant, I expect exponential growth in sustainability roles in India (ESG, BRSR reporting, Climate related biz functions, etc.) and lack of SM professionals is driving great demand and significant pay premium towards this course.

    • @aditya_shelar
      @aditya_shelar  9 месяцев назад +1

      Both courses has its pros and cons, difficult to put it on the same scale for comparison. Though, let me highlight some fundamental differences-
      If you have a healthy budget to spend, plus you want to explore multiple options (finance + other streams) and also balance it out with other benefits such as networking & improving soft skills - MBA from baby IIMs can help :)
      If you want to optimise your spending, are clear about your career choice (finance) and can work on soft skill development part on your own, CFA would be the right choice!
