  • In this video I remove the headlights to refurbish and replace one of them, I sand and spray clear lacquer over the top to prevent the lenses from further discolouration.

Those headlights came out a treat Steve it's surprising how much difference a coat of clear makes to them, it's difficult to tell on the camera but the misting you had on one of them after clearing it might be on the inside of the lens as they can go there as well and there isn't a lot you can do about that🙄🤔
Great video Steve and very well explained👏👍

Thank you John 😊 I’m quite pleased with how these come out, you could well be right about the misting, I’m sure I didn’t sand the left one enough though, but it’s good enough anyway which is good. Thanks for watching mate as always.
      Cheers.

Hi Steve, great video mate, they don't make it easy do they having to remove the wheels to get the bumper off😢
Lights came out good although the nearside one was still a little cloudy, normally that's not sanding all the way through to clean original material.
Hats off to you for sanding them by hand, I always use a DA, and that's really boring so by hand gets a round of applause from me mate 😅

Thanks Pete, yes I’m disappointed with the NS headlamp I was really worried by how much I was sanding the OS one I thought I was making a complete mess of it, but as it turns out I was doing the right thing, something else that I have learned. I think I’m getting better at applying clear lacquer though 🙂 it was hard work doing it by hand next time I will be using a DA I think. Cheers mate thanks for the feedback 😊

@Cavalier_Steve You learn as you go along. It's all part of it, and obviously, next time, you will know.
I totally agree with the clear coat, it looked really good and applied with confidence, which is one of the keys really, the more conference you get the better the clear will be, normally anyway, cheers Steve, thanks for the videos mate 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 Thanks Pete, I really wanted to get some decent spraying done this year but unfortunately life gets in the way and other things require my attention not to mention work getting in the way 🤦‍♂️ Your welcome I’m pleased that you enjoy the videos, I have some more to come soon I know I only release them once a month that’s attributed to what I said earlier and I don’t have an unlimited a amount of car stuff to fix I have plenty of plans for the near future some of it I’m completely new to, so I’m going to do the right thing and show it 😖 that’s what I want my channel all about, showing people that someone with a small amount of knowledge can do this sort of work and to provide entertainment as I also love watching other people working on there projects. Cheers mate I rambled on more than I was meant to doh!
