What is your favorite and do you have any other recommendations?
Project Cars 2 and 1, doesn't matter they are out from Steam.

Assetto corsa. I have over 15k mod cars and 3k mod tracks at this point, so when friends come over its just a giant sandbox. Wanna drive that first car you owned, got it. How about that car your grandpa had. Got that too. F1, sure thing. 50s F1? No problem.
WEC, got that. Rally? Yep. 90s DTM, autocross, drifting, hill climbs, fantasy tracks, GTA maps, you name it, this game has it.
A LOT of it is free too. And other stuff that's paid is less than I racing ($1 - $5 per car or track). Patreon has good stuff too.
Dirt Rally which had Pikes Peak in dirt and tarmac. I had a really hard time getting my Fanatec CSL Elite to run it and now with the Fanatec GT DD 8 NM, I gave up after a frustrating attempt to rewrite the code in the file. I am sure it can be done, but I am 60 and not a coder. I can change some settings in my American Truck Sim like turning off the wheel and adjusting the ride, but that was fairly simple. Rewriting the code to fool the game into thinking I had a G27 and putting my base into the right compatibility mode proved to be beyond my patience.
CarX Drift Racing Online is one, more of an arcade game but definitely some good cheap fun.
Assetto Corsa = The Definitive Sim basically, What a creation
For the Freedom enjoyers out there, NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is a must. It can be a bit finnicky to get up and running on Windows 10 and 11, but there are great RUclips tutorials out there. You can race almost any series and track from any point in NASCAR's history, it's astonishing in the best way.
EDIT: It's basically the Richard Burns Rally of NASCAR
Wasn't based on F1C? Well, by this way, I proudly express my europecity by taking F1C and installing a NASCAR mod. But if NR2003 is still available on Steam, I think I can do the opposite
She's talking of Steam available games. RBR has the defect that's an abadonware, free but with a lot of buts.
If we wanna talk of all the good games that went to abadonware, the list would be too long: RBR, GPL, Pcars2, GP4, NFSU2.... some also said that Revs is more enjoyable than how it looks.
F1C itself can be interesting even if less sophisticated than Rfactor

@@Frapskillar It only costs 10$ per MONTH, meanwhile an Rf2 or an R3E with a nice selection of DLCs (which are not mods) costs some hundred dollars for EVER. Just only Rf2 has some kind of stockcars that... are enough to turn around an oval

My favorite in this price region from the older titles is GT Legends, which is a bit older sibling of GTR2 and Race 07, with fantastic old race cars from the 1960-s and 70-s. That is also 7.79 euro on steam.
Was going to add my own comment about GT Legends, I used to mod it back in the day, uploaded to NoGripRacing (RIP) the community was so strong, and full of great people. I have it installed to a new PC today, and love it so much. My only downside is with NoGripRacing not existing any more I can't even download 95% of my own mods. lol

Raceroom is the sim I enjoy most. The other's are great but I always feel like RR cars handle like I expect them to and the sound of the cars are always great. Runs great in 4K triple screen and is immersive with 7.1 sound speakers.
That's not my opinion at all! I rather see in it a continuation of the "Race..." series, always very limited in terms of physics, the improvement work of which does not bring much. It's well below a GTR 2 for example, it competes with the bad "Project Cars", rather.
Everyone has their own tastes.

RaceRoom is used for DTM and WTCC e-sports so you're claim it's not accurate is not... well accurate. I've got all the race sims except iRacing and race all of them on rotation. But, Raceroom is the one I play the most and enjoy the most. Feel free to post your opinion to OverTake because it's their channel and I don't care why someone dislikes something I like. Games are subjective and your personal opinion is just that, your opinion.

Great list! Some other good ones are Super Woden GP and Rush Rally Origins, if you don't mind the isometric style. And I'll shout out the Ride games too - the continuation of Tourist Trophy that we'll never get...

If I may, I would like to add that GTR2 and Race 07 (as well as all DLC and others) are also available together in the SimBin Mega Bundle. €29.95

But sometimes it is also available on sale, in 2023, at the winter fair, I managed to buy it for €12.
It is in it. There's also Race: the WTCC game , well, I bought the bundle and shutted up. Theese are not some promising game developed on the most promising physic engine, that actually Idon't know how much fast would get me tired, theese are the games which are giving us so much fun from 20 years. So, for 20 years more of fun, 30€ are worth.
I imagine myself, 20 years from now, AI everywhere, still playing at Rfactor compiling .hdv with Excel

I like old games (too), and this pack includes my favorite racing games from my younger days.
I had to buy it. :/
Even today, I run a lap with them sometimes. The gaming experience is the same, and the nostalgia is always captivating.

I bought AMS2 for 5euros, but all DLC pack was a bit more expensive. Also got AMS1 for 1 or 2 euros.
I'd also recommend GT Legends - made by simbin, you drive old cars around a bunch of very cool tracks.
Rush Rally ... Been a fan of it since it was a mobile game (put your pitchforks away, it was a phase I was going through ;)). The Dev is super cool.
ASSETTO CORSA is really the best "game" for your Buck!!!
(But you must take the ULTIMATE edition, not the base one)
dude the fact they have it on console is a scam...the game is not played for its base content its played because of mods...i dont know why they ever mad it for console

@@iahlee Sorry, I just meant AMS 2 was not in the list, because it does not fit the theme of the video with titles UNDER 13 USD.
If they did a new NFS game in the NFS hot pursuit 2 style, I’d get it simply from a nostalgia standpoint. And agreed on AC, it’s definitely a must have. It having my personal car plus being able to download local tracks modders have made and done a pretty good job on is handy for getting an idea of a track in my area before I’ve even been there.
That is quite an eclectic collection.
As you mentioned Absolute Drift - one hell of a game I might add, one game you didn't mention is Circuit Superstars - it's a top down controller game, but with with the added depth of strategic pit-stops and great AI. It's an absolute blast for $20
With regards to Rush Rally 3 I actually prefer Rush Rally Origins as it's a really chill top down controller game. in fact I prefer it to Art of Rally, sacrilege I know, but it is what it is.

rFactor 2 is missing, it's a great driving simulator, often discounted. Another simulator is mudrunner, great offroad physics, way better than snowrunner because it has a more detailed physic

Remember to strictly use Steam versions for Rfactor, GTR2, GT legends, Race07 and other F1C based games of the Windows XP era, on 64bits Windows. The XP compatibile antipiracy program may harm your OS, issue that drove to the development of the Windows 7 versions released on Steam, since when it was at its beginning

Does anyone know a way to make the cars handle better in Asseto Corsa? I found the physics of this game unearable
A lot of the cars in AC is regular street cars, and handles like it. If you want more "regular" sim racing handling, drive the race cars.

I would prefer to buy SimBin Mega Bundle instead buying Race 07 and GTR2 apart and more when they give a discount
MotoGP 20 was the first MotoGP game I played and it made me fall in love with MotoGP to the point that nowadays I wake up early every sunday to watch the races. I would also recommend the 19, wich some people say is the best handling system in the series. But my favorite is the MotoGP 22, which have a sort of story mode featuring the 2009 season. MotoGP 24 is pretty decent aswell, but I hate the fact that they took classic bikes and riders out of the game. Also, I wouldn't recommend MotoGP 21 and 23 as they have the worst handling.
GT Legends
Overall a good list with a lot of variety, however I have to strongly disagree with GTR 2.
For starters, you have to do a bit of tweaking and modding to get the content back they removed from the Steam version compared to the disc version, and even after you did that, the game still has bugs in it that make it´s biggest feature, Endurance Racing, completely worthless.
The game has a massive bug that was never fixed where the AI is unable to lap other cars and instead bump into their back until they happen to get lucky and find a way around them. This behaviour damages both cars to the point that the AI will have a very slow cornering speed. In Multi Class races this can happen very early into the race, but even in a Single Class race it will happen. And while there are mods that attempt to fix this issue, to the best of my knowledge they mostly make the AI cars almost indestructable to the point that you then have the issue that you are driving against a full field of opponents that has a unfair advantage if it does come to a real race incident with a crash.
Anyone who recommends GTR 2 for anything other than Sprint Races clearly never made a serious attempt of doing a Endurance race in it.
Most Wanted 2012 is one of the first racing games I ever bought with my own money and it was so much fun. I spent so many hours in that game and even bought the DLC for the air field. The soundtrack lives with me to this day as well! I've found a playlist on Spotify that I play at least once a week

Most Wanted 2012 was abysmal, the physics and overal controls are not suited at all for the way the city is designed and you will end up crashing way too often, not worth it.
NFS Heat is a lot better than MW 2012, esp with mods. I'm surprised Emree picked MW2012 vs much better options. Heck Hot Pursuit 2010 would've been a better pick than that.
Edit: assuming they get discounted, which is so worth it.
WRC “7”?! Noooooo get WRC ‘10’! Most complete package for both modern and classic rally. 10 is the anniversary edition. Tons of content, sim-leaning handling.
WRC 10 is more than double $20. The point of the video is games below $20.

Gtr2 was recommended on another similar post so I bought it but it was a complete waste of money and time trying to get it working which I never did. Were you paid by steam to make this video?

GTR 2 is an absolute gem, although it can be a challenge to get it running on modern PCs with the latest simracing hardware. In that case you can always get a refund on Steam. And no, we were not paid, I don't think Valve ever pays creators to promote Steam?^^ -Michel

You lost me right away with Iracing right off the bat. Not a bias view at all coming from an Iracing content creator. Plus to get the content you need, is not cheap at all.

@thiagoods021 you clearly missed the title of the video.....under $20. Iracing has a yearly subscription plus you have to buy cars, tracks etc. This takes you well over the $20. You must play Iracing & feel the need to defend against my comment.

With mxgp 2 just give it a bit of time and I always play in first person view on hardest level and dominate it's awesome
