Maybe it’s because I’m a really verbal person, but I find it amazing how much sticking a label on a container reduces the mental bandwidth required to scan a block of storage, even if you can see through the containers. Plus it confirms that everything has its logical, defined place and that feels good.
If you like flocked trees, I recommend King of Christmas. I bought one last year and they have very little mess. I bought mine in their biggest sale in early fall.
There is nothing like a real tree and you are in a great part of the country for one. Or if you have enough land you could get one you could plant after Christmas
I enjoy your videos very much. I store the paper goods with its appropriate decor. This way it does not take up space in my cabinets throughout the year. As for candles, make sure the space has air conditioner or they may melt in the summer. Also, I cover my small trees with a plastic bag to keep it from dust. 🙂
I would highly recommend Balsam Hill artificial trees. The flocked ones prelit look wintery rather than just for christmas. I keep mine up during the winter and it is great.
For a Christmas tree I would highly recommend a flocked one. We had 2 trees this year, one was just a regular green tree which we covered in Christmas decorations and one was flocked which had no decorations on, just lights and it looked more wintery than Christmas. Could be the best of both worlds. We may buy some pine cones and little birds to put on the flocked tree next year, keeping it natural rather than festive.
Looks great! Depending upon how dusty your area is, you may want to cover that flocked tree with a piece of plastic to keep it cleaner. The Balsam Hill trees are really nice.
I liked everything about this video. I always love to see your decorations and always wonder where they came from. I really like the big white bins...they are perfect for storing decorations. Great job with this one Sophie....amazing job !
Hey Sophie, Loved the video-you always inspire me to keep going with working on our home. Have you ever considered doing a video for vehicle organization or how to organize a handbag or luggage?
Another great video! I 1000% recommend you look seriously at purchasing a tree from Balsam Hill! They are pricey but worth every penny! Outstanding quality and look so realistic. Please check out Balsam Hill! You and Jim will not be disappointed! They also offer other non Christmas items that are gorgeous! You are looking great by the way! Hope we get a little peek of Owen in your next video🥰
We were just looking there at their Christmas clearance sale last night, so far Balsam Hill is the winner. So glad to hear you recommend their trees (and other items!!) 😊
Another great video! Check out Balsam Hill for their trees. The trees are very real looking and many of my family and friends have them and like them too. They carry so many types and sizes. They have sales even closer to Christmas.
I always find decor videos interesting to watch because I am NOT a decor person. I guess my brain just associates decor as more clutter I don’t need in my already cluttered house 🥴 I still enjoy these videos but I definitely wonder how people like decor so much 😂 my mom LOVES decor and it just doesn’t compute with my brain. I guess it’s like my obsession with glass jars that most people would think is strange lol
I was thinking the same thing. I have lost patience with items that are strictly for decor. Plants are good. A bowl of fruit is good. It has to be REALLY meaningful to make up for having to dust it or clean around it. Plus I just like the calm of clear space. But as long as I don’t have to live with it, I do enjoy other people’s clutter; it’s like going to a museum. 😁
Are those drawers type storage container easy to pull out? I found that some of them are so light, the entire box got removed instead of just the insert. At the end, I need to restack the tower. … any suggestions? I want to use those drawers type storage in the basement….
There is a wonderful place here in Omaha for decor if you do decide to get a Christmas tree. It's called Mangelsen's. They have a permanent Christmas room, that is even fun just to go and look at. But Halloween is really their time to shine! Anything you could want from cupcake liners to movie accurate costumes! I don't know if they have been doing it during Covid but the is a big Halloween party they do for kids called, The Witches Tea. It's costumes and food and fun, something Owen might enjoy in the future. I don't know if they still are but they were doing locked room mystery parties, too. They also have an amazing restaurant and bakery adjacent. They are at 3457 South 84th Street.
Oh wow thanks for sharing, that sounds like so much fun to go look at! I've never heard of it, but it really does sound like something we should bring Owen to down the line! Thank you thank you for letting me know 😃
This is great, I love decluttering and organization videos! Btw I know you’ve mentioned before that other than blogging that you are also a full time lawyer-just out of curiosity what kind of lawyer are you? :)
Thank you! Yes! I work in house for a company and practice corporate law (Mergers & Acquisitions, Commercial Real Estate, and other corporate transactions)
👍🏼👍🏼 AS always I have lots and lots of content for your channel if you ever want to come help me in my home!! Great video with lots of fantastic tips! Thanks for sharing 💜
Are those real candy canes? Also, re: 🕯 I organize all of mine together in a closet. I used to put them in attic with each season decor. Big mistake, they melted, boo hoo...

Tomorrow is my day to start taking down Christmas. This came at the perfect time.
Yay!! So glad, good luck!
I could watch these kind of videos all day long!!
That makes me so happy to hear!
One idea is to have a Patriotic bin. This covers at least 4 holidays. Thanks for your useful tips! 😍
Great idea! I don’t really have any decor for those holidays but maybe soon as we get settled in the house and have kids that would enjoy it too!
Thanks Sophie
Thanks for watching!
Perfect timing for this Sophie, as I am planning to tackle organization of my seasonal decor as well!
So glad! That is perfect timing then!

I do really like flocked!

That would be kind of fun to plant one of our own!

@@SophisticatedOrganization Welcome!
This was perfect timing as I’m taking down our winter decor! Looks amazing!
I think Balsam Hill makes the most realistic Christmas trees - and they run great after-Christmas sales.
Sounds like Balsam Hill is a popular one! Jim and I were just looking on their site last night 😊
I read where you can put balls of tissue paper in your bows to keep them from getting squished. I haven't tried it, but need to.
Smart! I may have to try that as well
