Tools Used
I use Adobe Photoshop CC for painting and editing my illustrations. Many of my older speedpaints were done in a free digital program called Medibang Paint (which I highly recommend for beginner artists!). I switched to using Photoshop as my main art program in late 2018 to further improve my work. My tablet is the Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13, which I purchased in 2016. I record my screen using OBS and edit all my videos in Adobe Premiere Pro.

FAQ
How long did this take?
It varies! If it's a five minute long video, then between 3 to 4 hours. If its between 7-10 minutes, it was probably a bigger piece which can take anywhere between 10-15 hours.
Where did you get your brushes?
Most of the brushes you see me use are with from the Kyle Brush packs (mainly the 'Real Oils' from the Megapack, available to all Photoshop CC users) or from Andreas Rocha's brush pack (given out as a Patreon reward).
What canvas size do you draw on?
My canvas size is usually around 3000px on the short side and upwards of 5000px on the long side. With a resolution of around 300 - 350 dpi.
How do I commission you?
I open commissions around 3 times a year and accept in batches of 10-15. For all my prices and info, visit: www.clockbirds...

Your art style would be great with concept art for video games. You have some real good skillz.
@OTTER POP tf do you mean
Yea I think the same. I’ve been making a game for the past 3 years ( I can’t code yet because I don’t have a computer that could render my game, and I’m too young to get a computer, so I’ve been just writing about it and creating creatures). My game has a lot of made up creatures in it, and I’ve been thinking about letting my fans make some creatures to put in the game.( I obviously don’t have fans yet but when I do i will do that ) but anyway back to the point; I want to ask ClockBirds to draw some of my creatures, and I want to ask her if I can put some of their own creatures in my game.
Totally
@@boggi6870 when you get a pc definitely try learning with the program „unity“. There’s a version of it that has tutorials. And learn the program „blender“.
@@boggi6870 for any new person reading this, never expect an artist to just draw stuff for your games because you asked them. You COMMISSION them to draw you concept art. Be sure to have a hefty budget, it will go into the thousands for sure.
Clockbirds, I just want you to know that you mean so much to me. I loved watching you draw and the amazing results. I'm sure many other artists wish to draw like you, like me. Everything you draw is so amazingly beautiful and epic; pretty sure many people agree.
Please show us how xDD
@GalaxyDaHamgui Ɑɾե - ցɑʍҽ թӏɑվs I appreciate that; thank you. :)
What I meant when I said "Please show us how" was a kind of process video? Just something that shows her entire process of drawing something; showing how she colors in the lines so perfectly, blends, maybe even sketches! I also believe that the entire process of drawing a very beautiful piece like this one would help other artists learn more of how to improve.
I wonder why these type of art style is so underrated??!! Anyway, awesome work!
This is literally my *#1 FAVORITE* art style from any artist I've seen. The mixture of larger eyes, defined features, and vibrant colors with a dash of faded strokes is just absolutely perfect for me.
Cris Bradley I know right?! This artist needs more love and support
IKR. Most ppl like cartoony art and then there’s those ppl (us) WHO LOVE REALISTIC ART, OMG HOW DO THEY DO IT ;-;
what do you mean it's underrated? i'm always my entire life see arts like this the most popular and demanded, i wanna draw like that, but i can't.

The dislike is from a person who doesn't believe in magic.
Or someone who clicked it accidentally instead of the like button.
I'd say they disliked out of jealousy
Id say.. fantasy and magic
It was the Dursleys from Harry Potter
I don’t believe in magic.. still liked
ive been sick all day ever since i woke up with a soar throat and i just turned my internet on and just happened to get a notification from clockbirds. Finally something today I can be happy with. 😀😀😀
Same here! Hope you feel better
it still absolutely blows my mind how you can go from base colors to the end result. it's so cool. art processes are just amazing.
Ahhh!! purrty dragon i love the color scheme it's simple and calming
'Satisfying meditation' is the best way to describe this, ahh 😊
Its so beautiful! 8 hours drawing!!! What! Wow!!!! True, for artists....Love it! Subscribed!
God all those littlest details, lighting, shading etc. This is just amazing I can't even find the exact words to say. I can't even imagine reaching your level of making art but I hope I improve step by step closer to your level and so do other artists that hopes so too. Please continue making those incredible arts and inspire us with your incredible talent♡
I've been following you for a while (not on this account, this is new) & you've inspired me to draw animals more often, expand on the backgrounds & small details... & just put more effort into my art in general, y'know? I actually have a dragon piece I started last month, haven't had chance to get back to it yet because I've been depressed & suffering from art block, but if I eventually finish it, I'd be lucky if it turned out at least half as good as yours. Your art is goals, honestly. Absolutely beautiful & mesmerising to look at, every single one of them.
GREAT work! 1 subscriber gained for sure!
After watching this my skin was cleansed and my crops watered. This is truly the work of god.
This is truly inspiring. Continue whatever you're doing, because it is working!
Wow so beautiful!!! I love the perspective!
Magnifique, je meurs d'envie d'avoir ton talent ! (It's so beautiful ☆~☆)
@Soma Néo Saki bien dit !
Moi aussi!!! ( me too )
Is this French? Because its very similar to Spanish.
edit: but not so similar tho
@@capy100 Yes i don't know why i speak french here- Spanish sound like ¿holà que tal? And in french its Bonjour comment ça va? UwU
@@naku7173 idk some words are similar. Like on the first word in ur comment it meant magnificent right?
*I just LOVE your art style and the shading and the lighting and the colors and AHHH!*

this is so amazing!!!! the details, the shading, the colors... all so beautiful! keep it up! 👍👍👍
You should be noticed by much more people. You make amazing and unique art that not much people can do anymore
Many*
And the fact that you state that, so confidently, that not as many people can draw in such a unique way as this channel does. Absolutely ridiculous.
simply stunning !
Watching this video randomly and then realising I own several of your prints was a trip. You're such an amazing artist!
Time : 8 hours ? That's absolutely amazing for a budding artist like me who takes even longer to draw less good... Thanks a lot for sharing this !
Gorgeous painting.
Your art is surreal. Y’know, you have the skills make a movie. It looks like a dream.❤️
This artwork really inspired me to make more landscapes, your artwork is fantastic!
I hope I can draw such beautiful things just like you some day. UwU
This is beautiful! Keep up the amazing work, love your art Clockbirds!
Wow, there was only one thousand subscribers when I arrived here. Your channel grew rapidly!
Oml why are you so amazing at art?????This seems like something a game dev would have commissioned for a model reference or something like seriously it's amazing
Oh my goodness! I only saw the sketch but it looks good already lol
wow! epic! the best thing is that you work with only 1 layer! how do you can!!!!???? God!
*So beautiful!!!!!!!~🙇🏻♀️💗*

Your art, madam, is like the biggest source of inspiration for me these days. THANK YOU!
Gj the compo and rendering are perfect 👍
Can we all just admire that floor, like how u do dis?
masterpiece!
Ur art never fails to amaze me, no matter what Programme u use
This piece is absolutely mesmerising, like all of your work... You are one of my main inspirations at the moment, and I have already learned so much by watching your videos. Your technique looks so flawless despite the huge amount of effort and practice gone into it. I love your work so much, it leaves me in tears... Do you mind answering a few questions? How do you manage to colour inside the lines so neatly and quickly? It always takes me ages. And secondly, what are some of your favourite colour schemes?
Woah! Amazing! Love ir
I love watching you do the fur the most, all I can think is: The floof is real.
This is beautiful
Magically👏😍
man someday, i aspire to be like you, get to where you are
GOD I LOVE MIST AND THE WAY YOU RENDERED IT OMG

You're truly inspiring and one of the best artists out there at the moment, wow 💙
You deserve a lot of viewers and subcribers.. your creatures are unique and amazing! 💓💓
One layer? How??? That's amazing
im freakin' in love
Another amazing piece! The detail and colors in your work never fail to amaze me. You're getting better at backgrounds/environment! It's such a pleasure to see you improve :)
What's that brush you were mainly using? I've been trying to find a brush that works more like a brush and not a pen, and that one seems pretty good.
i don't know if you're still looking, but the answered this in the faq in the description of the video ^^
Where did you get your brushes?
Most of the brushes you see me use are with from the Kyle Brush packs (mainly the 'Real Oils' from the Megapack, available to all Photoshop CC users) or from Andreas Rocha's brush pack (given out as a Patreon reward).
@@duskexx1742 ah no I found it lol
Thanks anyways :)
wow even when it wasn't refined without the fur details it was way better than what I can do xD
this is so incredibly beautiful!!! I aspire to draw on my channel with half as much magic!!! SO INCREDIBLE nice job.
I love watch your arts, so full of fantasy, you inspire me, Clockbirds ! I'll draw you one day, because you are amazing ! ^^
This is just perfection.
I should subscribe to you. I mean, I never seen anyone as good as this!
Your drawing always inspires me, I hope to be as good as you, all it needs is practice and inspiration
Your art style and the way you works reminds me of the way i draw and think, except you finish your drawings... I start and then lose focus and i don't know a lot of programs and how to use them to my advantage. I'll figure it out though. you do an amazing job, i can invision this as something of reality, i can see it living, breathing, moving, thinking and eating; and that, i'd say, is the point of art; making your piece live.
Very impressive art!
I just got my drawing board and I use your drawings for inspiration because I really like your drawings ❤❤❤
amazing art!
It looks like some kind of Avali-Dragon hybrid. I want one.
Just found your channel love the simplicity ij your style so refreshing
Your art is such an inspiration to me, thank you.

I love how the video has only advanced 32 seconds, and the drawing is already better than anything I can do QvQ
This looks absolutely beautiful like I’m actually speechless :o
1:53
How are you doing this on a single layer.....please- teach me Q^Q
I think she merge layers at the end
Clock birds I miss your speedpaints 😢 they're so good where did you go?
i believe she said she can't experiment and doing speedpaints make her 'nervous', so she posts things mostly on other social media now. it's a shame though :( i did love watching the speedpaints
beautiful i like this alot
How did u organize your brushes so well?
Wouldn't mind seeing a tutorial on your workspace
This needs more likes
this is beautiful as always! thank you so much for this speed paint !
Your art is amazing and an inspiration to me, makes me want to learn new techniques so I can make my own content if even a fraction as good as yours. I hope to see more speed paints and maybe some photoshop tutorials from you in the future.
You inspire me soooo much! Your drawings are so cool!
This video was made last year, but it still looks amazing. And it will be amazing forever! 💖
Plz draw more your drawings are awesome!!!

This looks amazing
Omergursh yur art is so good!
pretty!
Amazing as always!
You never fail to abseloutely amaze me ;o;
Isso n e um desenho , isso é uma obra de arte que tem que ser colocada no Museu
If this was shown to me without being told it was a drawing, I'd think it was a photo and start believing in dragons.
Lo que haces es magnífico.
Sí, tu es correcto. Ella es muy fantastica.
I will show this my class for my presentation about digital art I hope thats okay ^^
@Clockbirds, thank you for sharing your creation process , it really helped a lots. I noticed that you switched from MediBang to Photoshop CC in the recent videos, just curious between the two programs what are the pros and cons for the current versions that make you choose the one program over the other?
I'd really like to know as well! Wish Jax would one day make a video on that as well, but her forte is her speedpaints, not tutorials or q&a sadly.....
If you don't mind, I'd like to share my experience with Medibang and PS.
From my experience, I'd say the biggest pro of PS is its convenience since it has loads of tools for illustration and graphic corrections in a single bundle. If you can afford it PS is definitely a good choice to go.
Medibang/FireAlpaca's greatest pro is definitely its price. For something that you don't have to pay money for, you're getting a lot. If you don't need to or want to learn how to clean and manipulate images and just want to do digital illustrations, Medibang is a great choice. And as Jax and many others would say, it's also very easy to use so it's good for beginners too.
u da best jax ♥ blows my mind everyday
How dare people dislike this video
Omg your art are amazing!
nice work
